Chapter 6

WEEKS LATER

It's Charlotte's first day at work. After multiple interview's with different companies in California, she finally got the position of a clerk at the Xi Group, and she couldn't wait to start work immediately.

She has undergone a one-week assessment with the company to test her ability for the position she was going to be offered. After the tests, for a whole week, she succeeded, and was asked to resume office.

As soon as she touched her lips with a red lipstick, she stood up, picked her bag up, and headed outside the house.

Matilda and the girls already left the house for school, she was the only one left behind. She padlocked the door, and marched on her heels to hail a cab.

Thirty-five minutes later, she was standing outside Xi Group, one of the biggest companies in the entire California.

She marches her way inside, and stopped at the reception with a smiling face.

"Hello, Good morning." She greeted, the receptionist she met in the lobby.
