Chapter 8

Charlotte returned to her office broke hearted. This wasn't how she envisioned her stay in the company, working as a clerk. She thought if she had seen the president and reported to him, perhaps the president would have talked some senses into him, and the harassment would stop.

But unbeknownst to her, Xavier was the president, and he had already prepared a termination of employment for the manager. Harassing employees and trying to make them cajole to your request is not authorized in the employee's manual.

Charlotte sat quietly, thinking if she should let him have his way with her, or just resign. But just then, she thought of calling the one person that has been her backbone since she became pregnant.

Charlotte quickly picked up her phone and dialed her best friend contact Alley.

After multiple ring's, she didn't pick up, and just when she wanted to drop the call, Alley called her back.
