Gwendolyn remained silent for what seemed like hours. To say she was speechless was an understatement. She wasn't expecting him to say that.

He was standing so close that she could feel the heat from his body. His face was inches away, his lips almost touching hers.

She gasped when he brushed his thumb over her lower lip.

"Why the sudden change?" She whispered. "I thought you hated me. I thought you didn't want me. You've made it clear to me."

"That's where you're wrong, princess." He murmured. "I want you. I can't ignore the mate bond, and neither can you. Our wolves are struggling to connect. Shadow has his eyes on you and won't be letting you go. The least we can do is give in to it."
