The dinner

It has been a week since Sandra arrived in Santamaria, Jake continued to come to the clinic every day asking her to go out with him for coffee. He would bring flowers, chocolates, wine, and lunch when he went to the clinic. At first, Sandra was annoyed but soon changed her mind when she saw Jake was not like London.

All this time she was waiting to see him change and be rude like London was to her, but it never happened. Julie convinced her to go on that coffee date with him, telling her that she has nothing to lose and if, she did not enjoy herself. She doesn’t have to go out with him again.

After battling with herself for three days, debating on whether it was a good idea to go out with Jake or not. She finally agreed, but she still had reservations, men have hurt her, and she wasn’t about to trust another only to give him an opportunity to hurt her as well. Also, she did not want to be distracted by men from her studies, that was her priority not men.

She went out with Jake for coffee, and he showed her around town. Sandra enjoyed herself, Jake was very attentive, sweet, and caring. He made her feel comfortable and he was considerate towards her feelings. He never forced her to do anything she did not want to do and accompanied her back to her dorm at the time she said she needed to be back.

Even though that was a bummer to her because when she set the time, she did not think she will enjoy spending time with Jake, but she did and the time she set came sooner than expected. But she could not change her mind about going home, she had studies to focus on and if she had changed her mind then she will be opening herself up to be distracted by the handsome man and she didn’t want that.

Today is Saturday and Jake invited her to dinner at his place. He told her that he has many family members and friends living with him. He was preparing her so that she is not shocked when he gets there and sees a lot of people. This is the day he also planned on telling her who he was and what she was to him. His mate.

Sandra spent the day at the lab catching up with work she could not complete while assisting the doctor this week. The clinic was open, but Julie told her that Susie will manage since they never get busy on weekend during the day. She said they only get busy at night on weekends but there were other two nurses working night shift.

So, Sandra took the time and went to catch up with her work. Jake said he will pick her up at seven so, she set an alarm for six so that she can go and fresh up for the dinner. She knew if she did not set the alarm, she will get lost in the work and forget about the dinner. That is something Chris always complained about.

That when she is working nothing else exist besides her work, she did not want that happening with Jake, she had this need to make him happy, to please him and she did not know where that came from. She didn’t know Jake that well for her to feel that way, yes, they would spend time talking when he visited the clinic but that was not enough for her to feel that way or to say she knows him.

Six ‘clock came sooner than Sandra expected, and she felt like she didn’t do much to catch up on her work. She took her phone about to send a message to Jake cancelling the diner when Julie walked in. “I knew you would still be busy; did you forget you have a diner date to prepare for?” Sandra sighed shoving her phone back in her pocket.

“I didn’t forget but I will cancel, I have a lot of work to get through.” Julie frowned. “No, no,no, you are not cancelling on the poor man on the last minute. Am sure he spent the whole day preparing for this dinner and now you want to cancel? That is inconsiderate of you.” Sandra thought about it.

Julie was right, it would be inconsiderate of her to cancel on the last minute, and she was not that kind of person. She looked at the pile of work she still had to go through and sighed. “Fine, I will go.” A smile broke on Julie’s face, she was relieved, and she could not afford for Sandra to cancel. She has already told the whole pack about their Luna, and everyone could not wait to see her.

Melanie has not been in the pack lately and everyone could not wait to see the look on her face when she hears about their alpha finding his mate. They were tired of her acting like a Luna and looking down on everyone. “Then what are you waiting for? Go and get ready. The al…Jake will be here any moment now. He is a very punctual person, and you don’t want to keep him waiting.” Sandra sighed feeling defeated.

She looked at her pile of work and decided to come in again the following day to get as much of the work done as she can. Julie walked her to the door when she saw her hesitating. “Go, I will lock up here and you will get the key from me.” Sandra chuckled shaking her head. “I am going Julie, no need to push me.” Sandra complained.

“I wouldn’t have to push you, if you would go willingly.” Said Julie standing at the door blocking it. Sandra laughed at the childish behaviour, but Julie did not mind. Getting to her dorm, Sandra got ready for the dinner. When she was doing the last touch up of her make up, she heard hooting outside and knew Jake has arrived.

She wanted to look good because Jake said she was going to meet a lot of people, if it was going to be the two of them, she wouldn’t have bothered with make up. She walked out and Jake was standing next to his jeep. He was wearing ripped jeans and a plain white t-shirt. He looked so handsome that Sandra stopped and checked him out.

Jake was pleased to see his mate checking him out like that, he kept quiet and let her check him out as much as she wanted to. After a while when her eyes met his, she flushed and blushed. “Sorry, we can go.” Jake opened the door for her, and she hopped in then he closed the door and went over to his side. “Don’t be nervous, everyone there will love you.” Jake said when he saw how she kept rubbing her palms together.

“I hope so,” the drive to the packhouse was silent, a comfortable silence and Jake was over the moon to be this close to his mate, he could not wait to tell her who he really was and have her with him all the time. He hoped she accepts him and love him for who he is. When they got to the packhouse Sandra was amazed by how big it was. This was not a house but a castle, it was those old castles, but you can see it was been renovated and made modern.

She fell in love with the house. “You have a beautiful home” she complimented. “Thank you, shall we go in?” Sandra nodded and took his hand as they walked in.

Somewhere nearby someone was busy taking pictures of them going into the packhouse, they disguised themselves well and have been scouting the pack for days now checking for weaknesses and preparing for the attack. Jake and his pack members had no idea that they have been infiltrated by the enemy.

The people were taking as many pictures as they can gathering enough evidence to present to their employer. “Our Luna is beautiful, and she seems like a good person, am glad alpha finally found his mate.” One of the warriors said passing by. “Am glad too, pity she is human, if she was one of us, it would have been better.” The other scoffed at the comment. “That means nothing, the Moon Goddess makes no mistake, she chose this human to be our Luna for a reason.”

The man in the bushes smirked when he heard that, so the woman was Jakes Luna and mate. He was sure his employer was going to love this piece of information; it was good and they can use it to their advantage. Once the two warriors were out of sight, the man got out of the bushes and disappeared into the woods behind the packhouse.
