I have a sharp intake of oxygen, a large amount that expands my lungs to the maximum.  My eyes fly wide open; my body springs from the soft comforters that I lay on. I gasp for air, like a fish out of water. A hoarse noise escapes my mouth as I hyperventilate. Tears flow down my cheek, dripping onto my once white colored fabric, which now is smeared with dirt and….light prints of blood. Or is it wine? I am not really sure.

My heart feels a sudden pain, almost as if it is tearing at its seams.  My right hand grabs a hold of my dress fabric which is closest to my heart, and I pull at it. It does not lessen the pain, but helps to put my emotions into actions. A ball of stone sits in m
