Foresight of an Elder

~Becca~

One day, tired and hot from a walk, Aldous and I came upon a crystal-clear river deeply shaded by silvery willows. No more delightful place for a bath could be imagined. I undressed and slipped into the cool delicious water, Aldous sat down the side shore gazing at me. His eyes filled with intimacy crucified on me. For a while, I swam idly to and fro in inner peace; then I seemed to feel something stir in the depths beneath me. Surprised, I sprang to the bank, and as I did so, I heard a voice.

“Why such haste my fairest Queen?”

From my back, Aldous dived down the glittering water, his warmth love lingers on me thoroughly. We bathed together almost half an hour. As we touched each other, I perceived nothing but glory and power running through his vein.

“My king... I am now shivering because of the coldness of the water, can we rise up now?” with my soothing utterance, Aldous quickly moved out off the water, lends his string arms on me. And in his tender and string bearing, he slowly pulled me out from the chilling river.

“Take this on, my beloved wife,” he said.

Aldous covers my naked body with a fine and silky robe he took as we part our home early in the morning. Beside the sturdy rock we sat, he lays his bed on my lap, touches my visage as he looks upon me under the azure blue sky, in the middle of the rustling sound of green leaves. He showed me an inmost love I never expect a king would offer. Yet, never he knew that the love he vowed upon heaven, was a love he bestowed down to hell.

“Marga...” he called me.

The name of my twin sister was a throbbing sound to my ears, but I have to admit that it was her who brought me to a paradise where I am right now. And so pretending to be Marga will be my lifetime concealment until I perish. But one thing is for sure, my demise will be a euphoric ending.

“What is that, my king?” I asked him.

“I want to have many children, five bundles of joy or more. And this river where we used to swim will be filled with laughter and blissful reminiscences that they will recollect as they grew older,” he narrated, he glanced at the river imagining the children he wished to have in the near future.

“Five only? That’s so few my dearest king,” I bragged and grinned ironically.

In the innermost of my threshold, the idea he thought sounds so absurd towards mine. I never gone this far and terminate my twin sister just to sit toddlers. But I have to pretend how lovingly I could be as a mother.

From laying on the fine Bermuda grass, we decided to stand and walk home. I don’t know why Aldous always love to wonder in this woods, as his Luna Queen, I just want to sit on my shining throne all day doing nothing for I have my slaves who will do all the things I need for myself. But now, look what we are doing.

I took a deep breath just to relieve my annoyance but my breathing bothers him for a while.

“Is there something wrong my dearest Queen?” he asked.

We continue to walk while listening to the sounds of the noisy forest birds.

“Nothing...” I persisted though my feet were too numb already.

He looked at me, suddenly, my heart falls into surprise when he carried me on his strong arms, “I don’t want my Queen felt weary,” he uttered and he continue taking the grassy path going home.

We are almost halfway to our palace when we encounter an old wolf, he looks really strange, I can’t figure out his exact image but he was the vilest wolf I have ever seen in my whole life. Aldous took me down gently, he bowed his head to the old wolf. I wondered why he needs to do it for he was the Alpha king.

“It must be him who should bow down to you my King,” I suggested. My voice was emotionless, even my face expresses nothing but a blank and poker visage nobody could read. But the old and ugly wolf gazed at me unnaturally. I took a glance away from him but he followed where my two yellow eyeballs move.

“Old Odysseus, she was my wife, Marga, the Luna Queen of the blue moon pack,” Aldous stated, pointing his hand at me.

Hearing him introduced his Luna Queen to other grant me a sense of honour and pride. However, the old wolf named Odysseus did not speak even a single word, his eyes were so still on me.

The elder wolf transformed into its human form, and just like his aged wolf physique, he looks the same wrinkled old man with an unpleasing appearance. His long hair with silver strands and lengthy beard made his entire bearing hideous. But I need to set a good first impression.

“A pleasant morning, my name is Marga,” I smiled graciously on him, I took his rough hand and gave him a friendly hand shake, but the old ugly man takes his hands off.

“She is not your wife, Aldous...” the old man said. My heart suddenly beats fast, how did he know that I am not the real Marga? Is he an oracle? My mind was occupied with so many questions but I remained calmed and still on my post.

“What are you talking about? She was Marga, my wife, we’re married...” Aldous insisted, holding my hand so tight as he pulled me away from the old man whose eyes shivers constantly.

“She is not your wife! She will bring horrible death to your pack Aldous! Believe me! She is not the real Luna Queen!” he bawled, as he runs away from us, he went back into his wolf structure.

Pretentiously, I shed tears, shaking my body like I was so scared that moment. Aldous clasps me in his arms.

“Don’t be afraid, I am here,” he whispered, giving me security from the ugly folk.

“W-whh-o is he?” I asked him, I need to speak shakily. So that I could convince him how afraid I was.

We continue walking while he whirls his left hand on my waist.

“He was Odysseus, the eldest in the blue moon pack, he was known by many as a prophet, a fortune teller, he could foresight the future. If there is an incoming threat to the class, he served as warning, so that we could prepare,” Aldous explained.

He took off his hand on my waist and held arms instead.

“But as he grew older, they said that he turned into an insane man, but he could still foresee the incomings,” he added.

“Do you believe what he had told you about me?” I asked him.

“Never I will, you are my Queen, the fairest woman I married, no oracle nor prophecy could hinder the two of us,” he promised, he pulled me back to him and gave me a tender kiss, a kiss I always crave for.
