Chemistry Lab. Faculty of Dental and Medicine.
Asyraf heard about the commotion that happened during the new student's orientation week.
"How're the girls? Are they okay? Did they recovered well?"
His inquiry makes another student in the lab furrowed his eyebrows.
"I never know that you're so thoughtful, Ash. Usually, you will condemn those people as attention seekers." John pinched his friend's cheek. "Are you Ash?"
Asyraf slapped John's hand away. His face is clearly expressed if he(John) didn't answer his question right now, he's dead!
"They got send home. What else?" John understood his silent threat, immediately replied. "The dean didn't want any bad rumors circulating around the campus. So, he reconsidered the parent's demands and will extend their medical leaves. This is done to shut off their mouths."
"Are you sure they get possessed by a ghost? I mean, seriously?" Asyraf scoffed. "Those girls might be too afraid of the dark and started imagining something ridiculous on the spot."
"Yep, you're Ash. The heartless and indifferent Asyraf, my friend." John nodded his head.
"You shouldn't say something like that. This is why girls are afraid to approach you, Ash. You said a hurtful thing that stabbed right on other's sore spot without care." Sarah sighed. "Did you know? One of the girls is still unconscious. I don't think the girl is an expert in pretending dead while being examined by doctors. She's comatose, and even the doctors cannot pinpoint the exact reason why she is unable to wake up. She is healthy, that's for sure. But, the fact she is still laying motionlessly on the hospital bed cannot be denied."
"What's wrong with her?" Asyraf asked with a wrinkled forehead. "The other two are okay. Why would she..."
"I don't know. I am not a doctor. If the expert couldn't diagnose the problem, how would you expected me to answer your question?" Sarah replied. "Perhaps, there's something that happened during the commotion that night. And it's affecting her mentally. Maybe she refused to wake up out of fear of the unknown. Just because we cannot see those supernatural creatures doesn't mean they didn't exist, silly. We're not the only one living being in this vast world."
"But..."
"Right now, the dean is making a new set of rules. He will compound any students that wandering outside of their dorm after midnight. The security guards will be patrolling the area in the college to ensure the students obeyed this rule. Unless you have a letter of reason with the authorized sign from lecturers/wardens to stay outside. If not, Rm50 will be deducted from your wallet on the spot. The second time you get caught, the compound will be double. And, the third time? You'll be suspended." John informed. "This is matter is related to the student's safety. So, no compromise."
Ravi shook his head. He sends a pitiful look towards Asyraf. Those kinds of gazes are infuriating Asyraf for some reason.
"Sometimes, you need to relax your mind. Be more open-minded to receive other's opinions. By the way, are you sure you are not the people who fall into the category of the scared one? That's the reason you adamantly refused to accept the existence of such a thing in the first place, right?"
"I am not." Asyraf is gritting his teeth. "Who said I am afraid of such nonsensical things?!"
"Your reaction is overboard."
"I hate you, Ravi. You're making me speechless with your stupid comment."
"My pleasure, then. I am finally able to make the sharp tongue, Asyraf, speechless today. What an amazing achievement for me."
"You..."
"Okay, stop!" Sarah snapped. Her voice is too loud that it is attracting the attention of the lecturer in front.
"The group in the back! What is the commotion about? Do you guys already finished with the experiment?!" Madam Suhaila asked in her angry tone. "I wanted the report regarding this experiment before five o'clock, on my desk in the staff room! Do you guys understand?!"
"Yes, madam!" All the students in the lab replied right away.
"What?" John's eyes bulged out in shock. "Before five? Our class will be ended at exactly five. When will we have the time to finish writing the report? Tsk! These are your faults! The three of you!" He glared at the three main culprits.
Sarah pinched the bridge of her nose. She should control the tone of her voice before lashing out. Ah, since both of them are pissing her off, she accidentally snapped at them loudly. Look at what happened. Damn it.
"Sorry." She could only apologize for her mistake.
While Asyraf and Ravi decided to ignore John's outburst and started writing their report urgently.

Student Residential College(Jupiter Building).
Block A, Level 3.
Zhou Wei just got off the lift when he saw his juniors, Lee and Fakhrul, standing outside their apartment.
"Is something wrong?" He asked. "Why would you guys stand outside? Why didn't you guys entered the house?"
"We lost our keys, senior," Lee answered with a pitiful expression.
"The both of you?" Zhou Wei felt shocked when he heard that. "Wait a minute. Where's Izzat? Shouldn't you be with him, Fakhrul? I found it weird seeing you alone without him."
Lee coughed. While Fakhrul is averting his eyes and refusing eye contact with Zhou Wei.
"The both of them gotten themselves into a useless and childish fight," Lee informed Zhou Wei. " This guy here wanted to apologize. However, his stupid pride gets in the way. So, it's been two days since they last talked with each other. And, he keeps badgering me about his best friend's condition since yesterday."
"We're not fighting. Don't twist the story into another direction." Fakhrul glared at Lee.
"And then?" Zhou Wei wanted to know the rest of the story. " I never thought Izzat is the stubborn type. He is a lenient person. Did he also refused to step forward and apologized?"
"Izzat must felt very angry or frustrated. That's why he ignored this guy. I never saw him raised his voice like that before. He is usually apathetic toward his surrounding. Someone must annoy him enough to make him lashed out like that."
"Fine. Please stop talking about that matter already." Fakhrul snapped. " I'll fix this as soon as possible. Ugh, everything is my fault, anyway."
Zhou Wei took out his keys. He opened the gate and the door one by one.
"How come the both of you lost your keys on the same day?"
"Err...I might leave the keys at the faculty. Or, maybe the toilet?" Lee admitted his fault shamelessly.
"I, uh...never brought my keys with me. Since Izzat always brought him, I figure that it a waste of space to bring mine."
"Simply speaking, you acted spoiled because of Izzat's nature."
"Hmm...you are right..."

"You guys are lucky that my class ended early. If not, you will stay outside until 7 pm. Senior Asyraf also had classes until 10 pm."
"You're our lifesaver, senior Zhou Wei." Lee tried to flatter him. "Next time, I will keep my keys safe in the bag and not leaving them out somewhere!"
"That's the basic thing you should do, idiot. And don't forget, please report the loss of your keys to the Residential Office Management."
"I will get punished for that." Lee sighed. "Another points deduction."
"You lost your keys before this too?!"
"But, I found the keys back after a week!"
"I shouldn't entrust you with something important after this. You are making me worry right now with your short-term memory illness."
"My memory is quite good," Lee argued. "Everyone said that."
"You only remember the difficult terms in engineering. Why would you memorize those words? It's not practical, and you didn't apply them in your everyday life."
Lee is unable to refute the fact. That's true.
The three of them finally released a relief sigh after they entered the house. Home sweet home. After all, nothing can beat their own house.
Khairul, with a blank expression, stood in the middle of nowhere. The elevator stopped on the ground floor. Instead of familiar surroundings, he is greeted by dark, deserted underground parking lots. There's nothing here except pitch-black darkness and a wide space area. There's no car or any vehicle. The place is illuminated by fluorescent lamps that sometimes flickered in and out as if this building lacked electrical energy. It is not a weird occurrence. Since it is a deserted place, devoid of any living human, of course, electricity is sacred energy. Do ghosts use electricity? For what reason? Firstly, where is this? Which abandoned building was he stranded on? Can he go back? Is someone out there? I need to leave this creepy place this instant. Please, anyone. Khairul is desperately pleading in his heart. He is going to get crazy. He wanted to shout out and yell for help. However, he is afraid of suffering the
From afar, Johan saw his friend is squatting down in the elevator. He seemed to pick up something interesting on the floor. However, the next moment Johan blinks his eyes Khairul had mysteriously disappeared from there. The elevator is vacant! Johan dashed to the lift, meticulously checking the area in an attempt to find his friend. "Khairul? Where are you, jerk?! Answer me!" He whispered-yelled his friend's name. For ten minutes, he analyzed the place, yet, he found nothing. Not even a strand of his friend's hair, absolutely nothing! His search ended up as a failed quest. It is unbelievable, but, Khairul is undoubtedly missing. Poof! Like a smoke. He dispersed into thin air. Just like that, without any logical explanation. If magic is real, he could conclude that someone intentionally erases Khairul's existence. Or he is brought into another dimension. What should he do? Should he report this? He should, right? A grave matter, indeed. Johan b
(A/N : Beware. Disturbing description ahead.) The moon is shyly hiding behind the cloudy cloud. The atmosphere is chilly and breezy. Silence and tranquility shrouded the area as the clock hit the number three in the morning. Only the singing of the lively crickets heard from the nearby bushes. The Jupiter building is desolate from any loitering human as the students were sleeping soundly in their house, snuggling to their own thick and fluffy blanket. This night is as dark and starless as the previous night. Yet, only for today, which coincidentally falls on the night of Friday from all days in the week, has brought shivers down on everyone's spines with its eerie and creepy surrounding. The older people from the past called this night-Jumaat Keliwon. They believed, during this night, evil spirits eagerly searched for victims either to play around or to prey on them. And their blo
This particular chapter I made in an attempt to introduce my characters to the readers. Please, everyone, enjoy yourselves with this mini-theater. First week. Monday morning. Their first lecture is Professor Ghulam's class. Who is Professor Ghulam, you ask? He is their English Lecturer, a European man that migrated from France. His wife is a Malaysian woman. Professor Ghulam's actual name is Ghulam Stravosky. He is a fifty-three years old handsome man. He is the tallest male in the college, standing on imposing height of six feet and eight inches. With a fit body and impressive muscles underneath his tight black shirt, he gave out the vibe of someone you cannot trifle on. He had lengthy tousled blond hair. Professor Ghulam also had a pair of piercing sapphire eyes, chiseled jaws, and a straight nose. He is the epitome of a handsome older man with a charming personality. Despite his inexpressive face, he is a man that loves to crack a joke
"Thalia, help us, Please!" Thalia jolted away from her sleep. She had a brief nightmare about her missing friends. Thalia released a heavy sigh. She is sweating profusely, and her mind is experiencing sudden blankness. Thalia dumbly stared at her surrounding. Rather than sleeping on the bed, she lay on the floor without a blanket. And, her room is a mess! Thalia looks for her alarm clock. Her keen eyes stared at the round, black clock on the small drawer beside her bed. 7.30 am. Her class will start at 11.00 am. She still has enough time to fool around. She saw red black spots scattered everywhere on her floor and walls. That's must be Johnny's rotten blood. She scrunched her nose in displeasure while remembering her fresh encounter with the ghost. Luckily, the awful odor had dispersed, or she might have to wash, scrub and clean her room thoroughly. Which will spark curiosity in her housemate's hearts, and then, they will start asking her question after question. She might l
Thalia never gives up her quest in ascertaining Lisa's whereabouts despite Izzat's stern warning. She tried many dangerous tricks only to summon her. Although, her guarantee to success plans are all miserably fail. Well, it's actually hard to convene Lisa as she knows who Thalia is, and rather than appearing in front of her, Lisa chooses to play hide and seek with Thalia. First and foremost, what did she do to summon Lisa? The first thing that flashes by her mind is The Spirit of the coin, of course! She prepared the kinds of stuff required for the game in secret, and when all her housemates drifted to the land of sleeping, that's when she executed her plan. She admits it. She is indeed a silly girl for attempting to do something as dangerous as this. Thalia desperately needs to know the whereabouts of her friends. They are her first friend, the ones who never judge her, condemn her, and never once do they look at her with contempt, like the others from her high scho
"You're too harsh, Iz," Fakhrul said in an admonished tone. He felt slight pity looking at the girl's disappointed expression every time Izzat brushed her aside. "You ignore Thalia in the class, refused to answer her inquiry and disappeared like a ninja as soon as the class ended."Both are on their way to the cafeteria for recess after spending three hours in a boring yet thrilling and restless class of the most fierce lecturer in Astana Bintang, Professor Amna Husna. "Why should I be the seeker of your ridiculous hide and seek with her?""You can rest alone. I never ask you to accompany me." Izzat casually replied.I bet you're wondering who is this Amna Husna? Let me explain it here.Amna Husna is a beautiful name that befits a pretty person. Amna is for peacefulness, and Husna is for beauty. The name itself is the epitome of gracefulness.Although the reality is, she is not a calm person, and her personality is far from that. She is a time-tick
Lim gulped down his saliva. He is now standing in front of the toilet in level 2, Faculty of Business Management. The hallway is desolate of people, especially when approaching this place. This toilet is located at the end of the corridor and beside the emergency stairs. For some reason, the hair on his body is standing in awareness. He felt goosebumps are spreading out all over his body and a prickling feeling of uneasiness kept poking him. His right hand pushed the door after a minute of hesitation. From the slightly ajar door, he peeked inside. Look normal to him, he mentally said. "Hah, if not because I am lazy to use the stairs, I will never enter this toilet," Lim mumbled his words. "So creepy." Students rarely used this toilet as the only lecture hall that is currently in use are Lecture Hall 1 and 2. There is five lecture hall in every faculty building, and all the lecture halls are connected. They occupied from the first level to the third. Not all f
"Can you...can you also 'see them'?" She asked him in a hopeful tone. Both of them are staring at each other in silence. The time ticked by slowly, and it felt like an eternity had passed. Thalia suddenly snapped from her reverie.Izzat is leaning his body towards the wall with crossed arms. He amusedly eyed Thalia's reaction, his head tilted slightly. The girl seemed to realize an unimportant fact. That was the first time Izzat was reciprocating her intense gaze.Thalia quickly put a distance between the two of them and lowered her head in embarrassment. Her face reddened. The red color spread out to the tip of her ears and the back of her slender neck."What do you mean by that, Thalia? See what?" Rather than answering her question, Izzat pretended he didn't understand Thalia's inquiry."Those black and hazy mist that surrounds Lim's body this entire time. You saw them, right? Just like me."Izzat didn't deny nor agree with her accusation.
