Her temper

“He isn’t that old. He can easily create one more or could it be that he lost that ability. Now, that can’t be helped,” Ashlyn expressed in a relaxed manner as though this was no big deal.

“Is this a joke to you? Even if his pack is small and the warriors are weaker, if he joins other packs, it would be hard on us.”

“If a war starts, wouldn’t I be on the frontlines? Why are you sweating in anxiety when all you will do is stay locked up in a room and be protected like a helpless princess? Little Beta, why are you worried when you have me?”

A sardonic smirk appeared on her face.

The Beta, maddened by her attitude, slammed his hand on the table and exclaimed, “Ashlyn!”

“How cowardly? Isn’t it in our nature to want more? I have been looking forward to conquering more lands for the longest period. Things have been pretty boring recently.”

“You should then stop thinking with your bloodthirsty instincts and gain a heart for once. Do you know how many pack members life are you endangering? I am getting tired of your reckless attitude. Why can’t you put others into consideration?”

Heartless beast. Bloodthirsty monster. Sadistic killer.

There were all sorts of nicknames that had been given to her. And Ashlyn had to give them zero points for creativity.

Ashlyn clenched her hand into a tight fist. As always, he was quick to assume the worst of her and throw all of accusations at her head. He didn’t even ask the reasons behind her actions.

And it still managed to pierce through the most sensitive section of her heart.

Pathetic truly.

Even after years of lesson, she still got disappointed at his attitude.

Ashlyn pushed the chair back. Standing up, she ran her hand through her hair. Irritation sat in her eyes as she defiantly responded, “Fine, whatever. I got it. I will deal with since this pack of weaklings can’t even defend themselves.”

The Beta then sternly spoke, “As a result of your misconduct, you are to escort Erin to the Blueheart pack and responsible for training squad 10.”

Ashlyn scowled.

“What makes you think I will listen to you?”

“I am your Beta.”

He applied pressure.

“Beta or not, I am not accompanying that obnoxious witch. And as for squad 10, I would rather get rid of those good-for-nothings.”

Erin was her cousin. Due to the alpha blood in her, she had a status in the pack and acted haughtily. She dabbled in the field of business and made quite an amount of success through it. Because she has business in various packs, for the sake of her safety, she had a warrior to accompany her.

Squad 10 was filled with geeks who had too strong opinions of their own and considered themselves to be better due to their knowledge. They looked down on the other warriors, considering them to be brutes with no brains.

And although they didn’t dare to meet eyes with Ashlyn, she knew they took her to be a fool. Every time she heard those terminologies from their mouth that she had no clue about or how they went into details on how intelligence should matter more over physical strength, she wanted to explode those imbeciles!

Although they spoke in English, it truly sounded akin to a different language to her.

It was in the nature of theirs as a werewolf to prefer thrill, get their body moving and sweating, and crave to establish dominance over others through fighting.

Yet no matter how much she threatened them, they would always have excuses to stay holed up in their room.

Although she would never admit it, she always got fooled by their glib and smooth tongue. They truly had their way with talking.

“This is a warning, or else you will be sent into joint training camp.”

“ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?”

“Don’t raise your voice here.”

She could see her act of opposition was getting to him as his eyes flashed golden. Although she couldn’t she it, she knew her eyes showed similar changes as well.

Ashlyn’s jaw clenched.

“I am not going to train with a bunch of pesky kids from various packs,” she told through her gritted teeth.

The thought of it was humiliating.

“Either this or that.”

The Beta looked at her challengingly.

This fucking bastard!

She didn’t even want to look at him longer. If it was possible, she would have had smoke coming out of her ears. She stomped out of the room before slamming the door shut.

Her temper established a suffocating atmosphere in the room, and aware she would get rid of anything that comes in her way brutally, everyone stepped into the hiding.
