“I feel bad for your father. I’ve only been here for one day. How can it be like that?” Fay still knew shame. She didn’t want to be seen as eating her paycheck without doing her job.

“Then do you want to come with us and skip classes for days?” Mike reminded Fay about her studies.

“Mommy will just stay here. Grandma will take care of things with daddy. She said she’ll pull daddy’s ears if he doesn’t comply.” Mika laughed as she remembered what her grandmother had said in their room. Such a big daddy would still have his ears pulled if he didn’t obey?

Fay scratched her head in confusion. Living here? With that bastard? How dangerous!

But never mind! For the time being she would stay at Cade’s apartment like the two kids said while looking for another place to live. She would think about it later.

Languidly, Fay finally expressed agreement.

“But you guys shouldn’t leave for too long. It’s not very ... comfortable.” Fay did not know
