Kailin didn’t get the chance to feel betrayed. The moment a portion of the crowd lunged at him, he was forced out of his position. He picked the fastest race of his life while the loud laughter of the Lycan Queen teased and tortured him. He had no idea where he could hide, so he kept running and running till the cries of his desperate people became very distant.

His wolf was quiet, Kailin could not feel its powers and that made things worse. So, that moment easily became more hellish than he could handle.

He stumbled a few times and quickly started to run out of strength after many minutes had passed. When he realised he could not run anymore, he stopped, his throbbing eyes instantly searching for where he could hide himself to regain some power. So, when he found a small hut whose loneliness beckoned to him, he rushed to the building and shut the door.
