“Thinking about your unfaithful mate?” said the voice as it made a turn and sat beside me.

I let out a huge sigh of relief and suddenly calmness eroded my soul.

I turned to the person now sitting beside me. ‘Cara!’

I suddenly remembered what she did for me. “I’m sorry I never got to thank you for breaking the spell.” I said with a polite smile.

“Yeah… I heard you can finally wield your wolf.” She said looking distant.

“Nia, right?” she turned to me. “Your wolf.” She asked.

“Yeah.” I replied with a nod, a little shy.

“How does it feel to finally grow into her under a full moon without any hindrance?” she looked at me with a smirk.

“It feels great, it’s something I can’t really explain.” I said.

Cara nodded. “That’s great.” She paused, continuing afterwards. “Now one part is over, what’s left for you to do is harness the magical powers handed down to you from your bloodline.” She added.

I was quiet. “The aurora’s seal right?” I asked. “That’s what is needed to help me harness my powers.”

The sun seemed very very beautiful to me the next morningBut don't lie to yourself, Mira.I cringed at my thought. Fine! I wasn't here because I loved the sun, I just really needed to escape Luca.Don't you dare ask why.Last night had ended with me pushing him away, even after everything. I couldn't entirely place my hand around it, but a part of me was unable to fully let this go, to just forget what had happened and let it go.Which is why I'm here, standing in the same hill where he kissed me like he hadn't wretched my heart apart.“Mira," I heard a voice call.I turned abruptly to see Lira standing there. I let out a relived sigh. If that had been Luca, I would panic.“Hey!" I said. She was beneath the hill, staring at me with a blank expression."Get down here, Mira.” It wasn't a command, her voice sounded empty of any emotion.I did as she said. Effortlessly sliding down the little hill to meet her.“Hey," I said again.Staring at her up close, I realized there was indeed an

“You think I've lied to you?"He sneered. “Not think, Mira. I know you've lied to me. Not once, or twice, but unlike you I'm not here laying blames. I'm not letting that ruin the beautiful thing we had going on."I was mortified. I think it's confirmed. This man sitting beside me wasn't the Luca I knew."What are you even talking about? What lie? Why are you doing this, Luca?” I rattled at him.He didn't seem phased by my tone, or by the fact that I was this close to breaking down in tears. Or did he just not hear it?“You and I know it's the truth, Mira. You and I know you lied when you said you have no feelings for Nathan. You can quit denying it now."I barely even realized when my body began trembling with rage. “How dare you? What the actual fuck has come over you, Luca?"“You're not denying it."I exhaled, my heart pounding.“You shouldn't."That was more than enough. My anger doubled, but yet, I was at loss of what to say. I jerked to my feet with a scoff."Way to go. This is t

I whipped my head around, and there he was.Luca was staring at me with the most unpredictable look in his eyes. I shuddered from the way he made me squirm under his gaze. When I blinked, I saw the look in his eyes switch to something else so quickly I almost thought I was hallucinating it.This one was almost consumed by hurt, it held this emptiness that came from knowing you had lost in a battle you thought you'd definitely win.I don't want to classify myself as a “battle", but I know for sure that he hasn't lost. One can only lose a battle when there's a competition. Without one, it couldn't even be called a battle.I had doubted it time and time again, but Nathan's words made me realize it. And staring into Luca’s tempting eyes at that moment only made it as clear to me as the night sky above. The realization did me no good, I almost hated myself for it. Like I said, it sucks to have your world revolve around someone you can't trust.Nathan rose to his feet first, and I was force

  • Betrayal under the wolf’s moon   Chapter 121 : A WALK AND TALK!

MIRA'S POVSleep eluded me.The day had passed without event. Everyone was somewhat quiet, as if a heavy weight hung on each of our shoulders and talking with anyone would only heighten that weight.I felt like I was holding the heaviest weight, but what was I to expect when my day started with a terrifying panic attack?I lay there, unmoving, staring at the massive black sky. The moon was shining lowly at a corner, doing very little to illuminate the valley. There were barely stars, three or two scattered through the vast space.I could only imagine how lonely they were being away from each other that much. How terrible it felt being able to see each other, yet not being able to touch or feel. The thought sparked up a sinking feeling in my chest. I knew, firsthand, what that felt like. Maybe mine was worse. He was my mate, such a wonderful thing of pride, yet the only time it felt wonderful was when we were hidden in the corners of a secret chamber.I didn't know why I was thinking a

Luca's attention was fixed on me. “Did you see something, Mira?" My tongue felt tied, like something within me was warning me to not disclose what I'd seen. I listened. Shaking my head, I said, “No… not really!” He didn't seem to believe me, so I looked away. I'd seen a lot, a whole lot. It clearly wasn't just a dream, this had to be a vision of some sort. But I wondered, what was I supposed to do with this? How was seeing everything I saw going to help me in the battle that was drawing near and near each day? I'd known Alexa was cruel and heartless, but I had no idea she'd been this way all along. I used to think she'd been traumatized as a child or something. I used to justify her actions with thoughts like that. Maybe she wasn't really a bad person, something bad probably just happened to her. Now, I realized that was wrong. The only thing bad that has ever happened to her is herself. I shuddered just thinking about it. She's the devil herself, she’s the one supposed t

MIRA'S POVMy heart thumped in my chest, over and over again, a very unsteady rhythm. I gripped my chest, the pounding making it difficult to take in oxygen.Breathe, Mira! Breathe!“Ughhhhh!" I groaned before I even realized it.Turns out I'd actually forgotten how to breathe. Lira appeared in front of me, almost immediately.“Mira, are you okay?"I shook my head, gripping my chest tighter. “Ahhhh! Fuck!" Those two words took a lot out of me to say them.“Woah! Woah! Heyyy… relax!”She knelt in front of me, gripping my shoulder. “Take a deep breath, Mira."I shook my head again. I can't, I wanted to scream but I could barely even part my lips without gasping like I was dying. Was I dying? It felt like there was just something standing in my trachea, try as I might, it didn't move. I gasped endlessly, doubling over. My chest had begun to ache, a subtle pain at first, now spreading like fire.“Mira… listen to me. You have to breathe. You're going to have to breathe, now.”My skin had
