LOGINChapter 5
Mia's POV
I woke up with a start.
My head was throbbing when I opened my eyes.
I blinked through the haze as I tried to recognize where I was.
This wasn't my dorm room, was the first thing I realized.
The bed I was laying on was way softer and bigger than the one I usually slept on.
A groan escaped my throat as I looked around in confusion.
The room was way bigger too. It was like two of my room combined.
My eyes found a floor-length mirror in the far right corner of the room, and I caught my reflection.
My hair was a mess.
My eyes were puffy.
My face was blotchy.
And I had streaks of dried tears on my cheeks.
That was when everything that happened last night came crashing down on me.
Liam.
The mission to steal the fingerprints for him.
It was supposed to be a quick in and out thing.
But I had gotten caught.
By Kai Voss himself.
And he claimed I was his mate. Even though I wasn't supposed to have a mate because of the absence of my wolf spirit.
My life had been spared by Kai if only I agreed to live in his villa. And I had slept in his guest suite last night.
Liam.
My mind drifted off to him, and I started crying a fresh round of tears.
I wondered how he was doing.
He must have been terrified when I didn't show up and meet him at the car last night.
What if he believed I had gotten caught and killed? He would never forgive himself.
I was still sobbing when a knock sounded on the door. My heart skipped a beat as I looked towards it, wondering who could be knocking.
It couldn't be Kai, right? He wouldn't have to knock since this was his house.
I was basically a prisoner. All he had to do was barge in.
When the knock sounded again, I let out a shaky breath before speaking up.
“Who's there?” I asked tentatively.
“My name is Valerie, I'm one of the helps at the villa. Mr. Voss asked me to come get you. Can I come in?” a feminine voice asked from the other side of the door.
My heart rate steadied when I heard that. At least it wasn't Kai.
“Come in. The door is open,” I spoke up.
A few seconds later, the door was pushed open, and a young woman walked in.
She looked to be around my age, with brunette hair and brown eyes.
She smiled when she saw me.
“Good morning, Miss Mia. Did you have a good night's rest?” she asked kindly.
I had no idea how to respond. I didn't even know if I slept well or not.
I had basically passed out from crying too much.
Nevertheless, I nodded, and her smile grew wider.
“I was told to help you get ready. Mr. Voss said you should come down for breakfast in a few minutes,” she uttered, and my eyes widened.
Why the hell would he want me to have breakfast with him?
Was that even supposed to be happening?
Could it be he was still hung up on the whole mate thing?
“Alright... I'll go and take my bath now...” I murmured before getting off the bed.
There was no point in trying to be stubborn. I would have to accept my fate sooner or later and come to terms with the fact that I was living here now if I didn't want to die.
I finished washing up after some minutes. I walked out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around my body, and another one around my hair.
Valerie was waiting patiently for me, and her eyes lit up as she grinned.
“You're so beautiful, Miss Mia. I can see why Mr. Voss chose you as his fiancée.”
I stopped in my tracks upon hearing that.
Did she just say what I thought she said?
Fiancée?
“What do you mean by that?” I asked her, and she blinked in surprise.
“Mr. Voss addressed the whole staff this morning and told us his fiancée was around and would be living in the villa from now on. He even released a public statement about your engagement, and the whole pack is in a frenzy over the news.”
What in the world?
Was this man psychotic or what?
How could he tell the whole pack I was his fiancée without my consent?
I immediately thought of Liam. If an announcement was made like Valerie said, then he must have seen it.
Oh no.
I had to do something about this.
“Can you take me to Mr. Voss?” I asked Valerie, and she looked at me in confusion, but she nodded anyway.
“Of course. But you need to get dressed first,” she replied.
I immediately moved to pick up the clothes I had just taken off since I had no clothes here, but Valerie stopped me.
“You don't need to wear that, new clothes have already been arranged for you,” she said, and I raised a brow. “They're in the closet.”
I didn't ask any questions as I quickly put on a simple dress before following Valerie out of the bedroom.
I didn't even have a chance to properly admire the beauty of the villa as she led me to the dining room where she said Kai would be.
And just like she said, I found Kai sitting at the head of the table. He was on his phone, and it seemed to have all his attention.
“Mr. Voss, she's here,” Valerie said politely before excusing herself.
Kai raised his head then, his eyes roaming over me as he looked me over.
“Sit,” he said simply, but I didn't move an inch from where I stood.
Instead, I decided to air out my grievances.
“I heard you made an announcement that I was your fiancée,” I started and he met my eyes. “I never agreed to that. I only agreed to stay in your villa so you wouldn't kill me. Can you please take down the announcement and tell everyone it's fake? I don't want people to get the wrong idea.”
Kai's gaze darkened as he stared at me. “The announcement was a strategic move to draw out whoever is behind your scheme. And since you refused to reveal their identity, the pack will keep believing we're engaged till I find out who it is.”
My mouth fell open and I quickly shook my head.
“Please... You don't understand. You have to tell everyone it's fake. I'm begging you—”
“No. I won't be doing that,” he said coldly. “You know, I still find it hard to believe that a wolfless student like you would have the guts to think you could steal from me and get away with it.”
My face burned with embarrassment as I resisted the urge to glare at him.
“You will live with the consequences of your actions, and I won't stop till I find who sent you,” he sneered.
I flinched at his words, and I tried to speak, but he continued before I could.
“In fact, I will enter Lycan Academy to surveil you in person.”

Chapter 4Kai's POVThe wolfless lady who had been stupid enough to try to steal from me was taken to the guest suite after I was done questioning her. I could see the joy drain from her eyes in real time when I told her the only way she would be staying alive was by living in my villa, but she didn't put up a fight. And that was the one wise decision she had made that night. It had taken everything in me not to pull her into my arms when I first laid my eyes on her. I could still smell the scent of jasmine, vanilla, and moonflower in the sitting room even though she wasn't there anymore. I had been asleep when my wolf spirit suddenly jerked and was alert. The moment I gained consciousness, I was immediately overcome with a strange feeling and desire. My wolf growled in my head as we both knew what that meant. Our mate was nearby. Finding my mate should have been the happiest moment of my life.Instead, I had found her breaking into my home.My wolf wanted me to protect her, clai
Chapter 3Mia's POV I couldn't help the whimper that escaped my throat as two big and burly men tied my hands behind my back and put a blindfold on my face. “How could a tiny little thing like you break into our boss’s house and think you'll get away with it? You're going to regret it!” one of them sneered and I sobbed. This was not how I expected things to go. There was never a plan to get caught. All I had on my mind was stealing the fingerprints and getting away with it. This was not supposed to happen. “How did she even get past our security defenses? None of them got triggered. We wouldn't have known if the boss didn't smell her,” another one said and my ears perked up at that. Their boss smelled me? Kai Voss himself? That was odd. I didn't have a scent because of the absence of my wolf spirit. Did he have advanced senses or what?“Did you get her?!” the same voice I heard earlier demanded loudly, sending a delicious shiver down my spine. The scent I had smelled in the
Chapter 2Mia's POVLiam and I hatched a plan for me to go to the villa the next day. He had already gathered a bit of intel and had a layout of the villa to make it easier for me to access. When night fell the next day, it was go time. I was dressed in the most discreet outfit I could think of: black leggings, black t-shirt, black sneakers, and a black face cap to shield my face from the security cameras. Since it was practically impossible for us to hack or disable the cameras in the villa, I also had to wear a nose mask to hide my face some more. “Mia, are you ready?” Liam asked as he came into the room, and I nodded. “Yes, I am.”“Good. Let's go.”My heart was racing as I made a short prayer to the Moon Goddess. It might be a little hypocritical since I was literally going to steal, but I hoped she could see my heart and protect me. Liam and I soon got into the car and he drove us to the villa. Even though I was putting on a brave front so I wouldn't make him worry, I was
Chapter 1Mia's POV“Thanks for healing me, Mia. My ankle has stopped hurting,” the football player said with a grin, and I smiled at him. He had sprained his ankle during a match and he was brought to me so I could treat him just in time for the second half of the game. I had healing abilities that healed people faster than traditional methods. “You're welcome. You can walk and play football now, but go easy on the field just in case,” I told him, and he nodded. With that said, he got off the infirmary bed and was delighted when he could walk on his two feet. His team members gasped and cheered when they saw this. They all thanked me one last time before walking out of the infirmary. Once they were out of sight, I made my way to the tiny space I used as my office during my shifts and took off my nose mask and gloves.I had barely sat down when somebody barged into my office, banging the door loudly behind them. My heart skipped a beat as I flinched, wondering who could have sto
