Finally, Giselle could breathe a sigh of relief. She sat on a bench in the campus garden, wearing her lab coat after her first practice session with her friends. "Finally, I can participate in the anatomy practice. Huh, even though my hands still hurt from being tied up in the basement," she muttered sarcastically as she let out a long sigh.

Despite the drama earlier that morning, her mind was now a little more at ease.

Giselle decided to go home. She was picked up by the driver. Soon, the car entered the grand grounds of the De Santos Mansion, and the girl’s heart began to race again.

As she stepped out, she was greeted by one of the servants. “Good afternoon, Miss Giselle. Oh, I mean, Mrs. Giselle.”

“Is Mr. Leon here?” Giselle asked directly.

Mrs. Hansel, who had just come out of the dining room, greeted her with a sweet smile.

“Leon, huh? Oh, he’s in his room. He’s been home from work for an hour now,” Mrs. Hansel teased Giselle with a wink.

Giselle smiled slightly, half

That morning, the clock showed 7:00 a.m. The air around the De Santos Mansion was still fresh, a thin fog lingering in the garden. But a luxury car had already stopped right in front of the main door.Qiara stepped out of the car with a wide smile. In her hands was a neatly wrapped food container.“This early in the morning, he probably hasn’t had breakfast,” she murmured softly as she walked in.As the butler opened the door, Qiara made her way straight to the living room. As if the place was already familiar to her. And right on cue, Leon appeared from the stairs, already dressed in a black suit, his hair slicked back neatly.“Leon!” Qiara called out, quickly approaching and hugging him tightly.Leon gave a small smile. “You came this early?”“I brought your favorite food. That tuna sandwich you love,” Qiara replied, lifting the food container.Leon took the box. “Thanks, you still remember.”They didn’t get to speak much before the sound of footsteps echoed from the kitchen. It was already late at night when Giselle stood in front of Leon’s bedroom door. Her heartbeat quickened. She didn’t know what drove her, but after hearing Leon’s statement earlier that afternoon, her chest felt like it was on fire.Without knocking, she slowly opened the door. The room’s lights were off, only the glow from the balcony faintly lit the spacious space. The night breeze and the subtle scent of tobacco greeted her.Giselle stepped in quietly toward the balcony. Her steps halted when she saw Leon’s back from a distance. The man stood with his back to the door, wearing only a thin black t-shirt and dark jogger pants. The shirt clung tightly to his well-sculpted body, highlighting the broad line of his shoulders and the tension of his muscles as he raised a cigarette to his lips.Smoke drifted slowly into the air, and the faint light at the end of the cigarette cast a sharp shadow over his chiseled jawline. One hand was tucked into his pocket, his posture relaxed but still d

Night began to fall. The streetlights glowed softly, their light reflecting off the wet asphalt, remnants of the rain earlier that afternoon.Leon turned the wheel of his black sports car, driving Qiara home. Throughout the ride, Qiara occasionally stole glances at him from the passenger seat, her smile faint.“Thank you for taking me home, Leon,” Qiara said softly.Leon simply nodded. “You live alone in this apartment, right?”Qiara nodded, tilting her head slightly. “Yes. But tonight… would you like to stay here?” Her tone carried a sweetly wrapped hint of seduction.Leon glanced at her briefly, one eyebrow raised. “Qiara, I still have work to do. Tomorrow morning, I have to leave early.”Qiara pouted playfully. “Always working… You weren’t like this before. When we were still together, you often made time for me.”Leon drew in a slow breath. “A lot has changed, Qiara.”There was a short silence before Qiara gave a faint smile. “Alright. I won’t push you. I understand.”The car stop

In the study, Qiara kept looking at Leon with curiosity. “Leon, don’t say that. Who was that little girl just now?” she asked, tilting her head slightly.Leon let out a sigh, his tone firm. “I already told you, she’s nobody.”“But I saw she seemed angry. Are you sure there’s no connection between you and her?” Qiara stared at him closely, as if trying to read his thoughts.Leon shifted his gaze, then walked toward the desk to tidy up some papers. “Qiara, we don’t need to talk about that. Just focus on us.”Qiara gave a faint smile. “Alright. I was just curious. Besides… I’m happy you’re willing to take me back after everything that happened.”Leon glanced at her briefly. “You were sick back then. I believe that if it wasn’t for that, you wouldn’t have left me.”Qiara nodded slightly, pretending to be touched. “Yes… I was foolish, Leon. But now I’m here, and I won’t leave again.”Leon simply nodded. “Let’s go downstairs, Mom is probably there.”They left the study and went down the sta

That afternoon, the atmosphere at the De Santos Mansion felt warm and calm. The car carrying Giselle stopped right in front of the main entrance. She stepped out with her small bag in hand, her eyes fixed on the grand building. It had been a long time since she last came home.As soon as she entered, the familiar scent of the house greeted her. In the living room, she spotted Aunt Hansel—Leon’s mother—sitting comfortably while reading a magazine.“Aunt Hansel,” Giselle greeted with a smile.Hansel looked up and returned the smile warmly. “Oh, Giselle. You’re back. How was your trip?”“Smooth, Aunt. But… where’s Leon?” Giselle asked, trying to sound casual.Hansel glanced at the watch on her wrist. “As usual, at this hour he’s always in his study. You know Leon—once he’s buried in his work, he loses track of time.”Giselle nodded. “Alright, Aunt. I’ll go see him.”Without the slightest suspicion, she walked toward Leon’s study, unaware that someone she never expected was inside. When s

The afternoon air felt cool as the taxi carrying Giselle stopped in front of the large gate she hadn’t seen in a long time. The black iron, adorned with ornate patterns, still stood sturdy, though its paint had begun to fade with time. Beyond it stood the grand mansion where she once lived with her father and mother.“We’ve arrived, Miss,” the driver said.Giselle stepped out slowly, her eyes sweeping over the spacious yard, which now looked better maintained than the last time she saw it. The scent of freshly cut grass filled the air. A few workers were tidying the garden, pausing briefly to greet her.“Welcome back, Miss Giselle,” one of them said with a smile.Giselle returned a faint smile. “Thank you. It feels… strange, but also nice to be back here.”Not long after, a neatly dressed man emerged from the main door. It was Mr. Billy, the lawyer who had been helping Giselle all this time.“Miss Giselle,” he greeted, shaking her hand. “At last, all of this is yours again.”Giselle e
