DAISY

I shifted my gaze to where Landon was standing as he smiled at something one of the members said. He was oblivious of my turmoil, and I wished I could call out to him. My fingers touched my chest as I felt the pain ease, only for me to turn back to where Alexander had being and see no-one.

"Oh, Moon Goddess!" I exhaled. "Where did he go?"

My breath caught in my throat as I looked around in a bid to see if he could be in the many faces beneath the masks. There was no-one in that cringy blue suit. I was just on my own. I took a shaky breath, as I assumed that I had imagined it all. I was such an idiot sometimes.

Noticing that some of the guests were still looking at me like I had grown two heads, I gave a fake smile. "I’m fine. Please, you can enjoy the party," I said calmly.

A few smiled in encouragement, while others looked at me like I had gone mad. Well, it was quite possible that I have. How could I think about Alexander at this point? Jeez!

I slowly caressed my hand slowly
