Chapter Thirteen

Daisy’s POV

Landon froze immediately the words left John’s lips. The color on his face drained gradually and his lips twisted into a vivid frown.

“Where are they?” He asked, with a different cold voice. His eyes had darkened, veins appearing around them and I instantly realized he was livid. What could possibly make him so upset about his parent’s arrival?

“A border guard called me immediately after their convoy passed the pack’s main entrance. I ran here as quickly as I could to tell you. They should be here any moment from now.” John appeared to be confident but I could also see he was struggling.

“Get me the royal mantle.” Landon instructed him. “My mother would lose her mind if I welcome her without the royal robe.” John sprinted away to do his bidding leaving us alone for a brief moment.

“What’s going on?” I asked, feeling lightheaded. Everything was hitting me at once and I couldn’t grasp anything at all. The seer, the revelation, his parents; I was completely confused.

    DAISYLandon led me to his room, without saying a word to me, or letting go of my waist. I was grateful for that because it would simply make the princesses see the chemistry between us and annoy them even more."Come in," he said politely.I said nothing as I stepped in. Taking several steps away from him, in other to put some distance between us, I watched as he shut the door firmly behind him. I held my hands together, hoping to control the pain that I was feeling. "I have missed you," he said suddenly as he turned to look at me.I scoffed. "Save those words. You have shown me what I meant to you since the night of the ball."I blinked in shock as Landon suddenly pushed me against the wall, trapping me with his body. I could hear the pounding of my heart and I knew he could too. "Don’t try to intimidate me," I said, feeling heat all over my body. He smirked. "What are you afraid of, Daisy?"I looked away from his piercing eyes, unable to take any more of the heat that he exuded.

    DAISY"I can’t keep staying here," I grumbled as I got out of bed, feeling completely drained. I knew I needed rest but I couldn’t continue to lie in bed all day. I was losing my mind with all the thoughts in my head and a distraction was needed. I had no idea what time it was, but I knew I had spent two days in bed after Landon’s last visit. The fact he had not come again to check up on me was so painful. Was I really going to succeed in breaking my own relationship with my own hands? Had I really succeeded in pushing him away?
