A lump of nervousness rose up Gypsy's throat as she took in the betrayal burning in David's eyes. She swallowed it down, wondering what was going through his head.

“Enzo was here.” She finally answered.

David shook his head, his nostrils flaring. “And you let him stay? You even let him okay with Dawn!”

“He showed up unexpected very early in the morning and he wouldn't leave. And Dawn was so happy with him I had no choice but to let him stay for a while." Gypsy explained, hoping he would understand.

“For a while, huh?” David scoffed. “How long was he here for? Was that why you refused to pick my calls?”

“No! Of course not.” Gypsy answered, getting desperate by the second. “I genuinely didn't even hear my phone ringing, I swear.”

David barely nodded, suspicion holding his usually bright eyes. “And when did he leave.”

“A few minutes ago.”

An incredulous look took over David's expression. “He came here early in the morning and he just left a few minutes ago? You let him stay for hours, G
