“You can’t do this,” I tried to interject confidently.

It was a valiant effort, really, the kind of statement that usually works in a brightly lit office during business hours. But the words failed miserably the moment Nisi lifted one of the crystal glasses and started to pour the vintage wine over my naked body.

The cold liquid was a sharp, biting shock against my feverish skin. I closed my eyes, breathless, as the dark red droplets raced down my curves, soaking into the lace of my underwear.

I was tossing and turning in bed, staring at the ceiling as midnight crawled by. Sleep just wasn't happening. My head was spinning with everything Nisi and Rapha had told me about how their world works. It’s definitely weird, but honestly, there was something about it that just clicked for me.Growing up as an orphan, I’ve spent my whole life just wanting to belong somewhere, to have something stable. The way they talked about ‘fated’ love made it sound so absolute. No cheating, no secret mistresses, none of the messy drama I always see in regular relationships. For someone who’s never had a real family, that kind of guaranteed loyalty felt like a dream. It wasn't just a choice for them, it was who they were. And I really, really wanted that. But even with the guys right down the hall, I couldn't stop thinking about the other one.Roderick.His name kept playing on a loop in my head. He’d made this huge deal about me being his, but then he just... disappeared. After the fight settled

The silence that followed the chaos was almost deafening.Dust hung in the air, settling like a heavy fog that clung to my skin and throat. The scent of blood still hung around, strong and metallic, a cruel reminder of what had just transpired. My legs wobbled beneath me, but I forced myself to stand upright and face reality. I had seen it. I couldn’t unsee it.Flesh ripping, bones cracking, fur erupting in a feral burst, Nisi, Rapha, Jace, and the rival Alpha locked in a brutal war that no human could survive.Wolves. Real wolves, I’m telling you! I wasn't crazy, I had seen the impossible. And now they stood before me, human once more, as if nothing had happened. My voice was unstable, but I pushed through the silence.“Enough. No more secrets. You owe me the truth. What are you?”Nisi’s eyes flashed with shadows still burning deep within.“Rahab…” He started, almost pleading, but it only made my chest tighten with a strange mixture of fear and anger.“Don’t,” I snapp

The morning dawned softly, the light spilling through the windows with an almost innocent glow. Breakfast was a quiet affair, filled with the gentle buzz of conversation and the clinking of dishes. The air was lighter, the tension from the night before momentarily eased, as if the shadows that lurked outside had receded for a while.Jace, ever the energetic one, clapped his hands together with exaggerated enthusiasm. His grin was wide and carefree, a stark contrast to the eerie aftermath of the night's events.“Alright, Rahab,” he announced, bubbling with excitement. “Time to see the community. You’ve had the grand hall, now let’s take a walk through the streets.”Rapha groaned, rolling his eyes. “Ignore him. He thinks he’s the mayor,” he muttered, voice tinged with playful annoyance.Jace puffed out his chest, pretending to be important.“I am the mayor,” he declared with mock solemnity, “at least of the fun parts.”Nisi, quiet and composed, offered a steadier tone.“It’s important

Dinner began as a ritual of civility, all measured words and quiet forks over fine dishes. Yet as the night stretched on, an undercurrent of playfulness edged with danger surfaced, as if beneath the relaxed formality, a secret was pressing to break free. The Elder sat at the head of the long table, his posture regal yet at ease, eyes steady beneath a calm façade. His gaze remained fixed on me, assessing, curious, perhaps even amused. Flanking him, Jace leaned back, relaxed, a roguish grin on his lips, seemingly more interested in teasing Rapha than probing me with questions. “So, Rahab,” the Elder began smoothly, but with an undertone of something more, something hidden. “Tell me about your family.” I hesitated for a second. The words caught in my throat, old pain flashing through my mind. I tightened my grip around the stem of my glass, feeling the coldness seep into my palm.“My parents died in a car accident,” I whispered, barely audi

Walking through the estate’s vast hallways, I couldn’t help but feel like I’d stepped into some kind of secret society, or maybe a really exclusive club where every move was deliberate and every glance was loaded with meaning. The floors echoed beneath our footsteps, and the way the others moved, so precise, so controlled, made me feel like I was surrounded by people who had memorized every gesture. It was like they were part of some silent language I hadn’t yet learned.Honestly, it was kind of thrilling, but also a little intimidating. My inner analyst was currently screaming for a spreadsheet to map out the social hierarchy. My nerves kept trying to surface, but I fought them down. I told myself this was just a close-knit community with their own quirky way of doing things, and I’d just have to get used to it.Still, the words ‘pack’ and ‘alpha’ kept circling in my head like catchy songs I couldn’t get out of my thoughts, strange, out of place, like I’d somehow wandered into a play

An hour later, we touched down at the estate. The helicopter’s blades slowed and the silence that followed felt almost deafening. In front, I noticed a group had gathered at the landing pad, their sharp posture and watchful eyes making the moment feel staged, like a scene I’d stumbled into.Jake, as the pilot had introduced himself through the intercom, was the first to hop out, moving with a crispness that suggested he was used to command. Without a word, he gave a sharp salute, clear and confident as he called out, “Alphas. Everything is ready. The corridor is clear.”Again, the word ‘Alphas’ caught in my mind. It wasn’t the kind of title I’d expect outside a motivational seminar or perhaps a military briefing, where ranks and roles were drilled into everyone’s heads. Rapha had used it in bed once, in the heat of our play, but I had thought it was just a role he played while controlling my body. I had categorized it as a kink, a linguistic shortcut for power. But here in the open,
