Valarie's Pov

With a blurry vision I woke up to the sound of beeping machine"

I lifted my arm to see an IV tube attached to my flash" I looked around my surroundings only to realize I was inside a hospital room

My eyes moved to my parents Walter & Cynthia Blackrose who sat worriedly on the hospital sofa not far from me" you're awake says my mother with relief on her face as she rushes next to my bed

Walter" call the doctor our baby is awake she says with tears in her eyes looking at my father who rushes outside the room and comes back with the doctor

Dr Bennett is my daughter going to be alright asks my father looking at me worriedly

What happened" I ask feeling dizzy but they ignore my questions their attention fixed on the doctor who is busy doing a checkup on me

The accident I mutter shocked as everything starts to come back slowly

Mason" I say worriedly as I remember he was also in the car when I met with the accident

Mom' where's Mason?  I ask looking at them but instead of answering me they both gave each other strange looks

Mom' dad what's going on where's Mason I ask looking at them again but neither of them are answering me" I try to get up but I can't

What's going on why can't I feel my legs I ask panicking" Valarie I'm going to need you to stay calm everything is going to be alright says the doctor with a reassuring look that makes me feel like something is wrong"

I stubbornly try to move my legs again but nothing is happening"

I can't move my legs!! I scream' crying my lungs out' my parents and the doctor try to calm me down but it's no use' I keep fighting them as they try to hold me

Mr Blackrose I'm afraid we are going to have to sedate her or she may hurt herself says the doctor looking at my father'

I panic as my father nods his head for him to go ahead" Walter my baby says my mother in tears looking away as she cries heavily

No.. no.. please! I scream as nurses come inside the ward pressing my hands against the bed as I refuse to cooperate" my father hugs my mother tightly' comforting her as the doctor injects me

My head falls to the pillow but I do not lose consciousness instead I feel as if all of my energy has been drained out of my body

My eyes close but I'm still aware of what's happening"

Doctor what's happening with our daughter" why can't she move her legs asks my father as I lay on the bed with my eyes closed but I can still hear them

Mr & Mrs Blackrose I'm afraid I have bad knews for your daughter says the doctor looking at my parents"

I sniff silently as I listen to them speak"

I'm sorry to inform you that during the car accident your daughter experienced an unfortunate spinal cord injury' that disrupted the nerve signals traveling from her brain to her legs, therefore resulting in her legs becoming paralysed he explains looking at my parents with emphaty

What" says my mother almost collapsing to the floor unable to take the information" control yourself Cynthia' everything is going to be alright says my father supporting her to the sofa

Doctor is the a way you can help her recover" asks my mother in tears as my father helps her sit down

It's possible but highly rare he says looking at her

How rare I ask my voice barely a whisper " everyone turns to look at me surprised that I'm still conscious
