Bert's death made us all feel various emotions. We were all moved by his suicide. While some of us thought that he was feeling remorseful about what he had done, others thought that he just wanted the easy way out after realising that his mate and son didn't support his decision.

Anyway, we buried him and got on with our lives. As we planned, we prepared to hold the alpha and Luna ceremony on the night of the full moon and invited the alphas and their mates from all the packs of the South. That was excluding the Sapphire Moon pack.

Everything was going smoothly. Nonetheless, I didn't get wary of our enemies who were living just next to us. Careful that they might attack us at any time, Gavin and I strengthened the security at the borders, especially on our big night.
