I wouldn't lie, I was taken aback when she crashed her lips on mine, yet, my body seemed to welcome it wholeheartedly. Akela jumped for joy and teased me for being a sucker and freezing on the spot.

He liked her and so did I. But we both knew that she didn't belong to us, so we stayed away. Nonetheless, ever since that kiss, Akela's attachment to her magnified… okay maybe I also was feeling a bit more protective over her.

During the time we spent together, I tried to make her laugh as much as I could, just so I could hear her melodious voice. When she laughed, her blue eyes would sparkle like two sapphires and I thought that was the most beautiful sight I could see. As we spent more and more time together, I realised that I had failed to prevent my heart from leaning towards her. The air seemed fresher when she was around. Everything seemed better when I was with her. The world was just a better place when she was around.
