KATHERINE'S POV

Hazel called while I was in the shower and by the time I came out, Alex was standing right next to the dressing mirror, staring at my phone.

I would have been pissed off in the past and accused him of snooping but for some reason I didn't feel mad.

Especially as he immediately turned to stare at me and smiled, the smile didn't reach his eyes though, it was a lopsided smile.

“What's wrong?” I asked him as I gently dried my hair with a towel.

He turned away from the mirror and sat on the bed…no, slumped on it like a sulking child.

Okay, something was wrong.

“Nothing. Hazel called.”

I nodded, “... And?

He sighed and grabbed his phone and then casually said, “She wanted to know if you were still coming to her place so you both can go through the documents and will again.”

Okay…that definitely wasn't everything Hazel said. Either something else was wrong or he wasn't saying everything Hazel said.

“And…?”

If he looked slightly pissed earlier, he looked extremely
GIFT TEEY

You know that moment when someone swears they’re not jealous, but their eyes, tone, and the way they breathe scream otherwise? Yeah… that’s Alex right now. And poor Katherine? She might’ve just learned that teasing a man like him comes with consequences — heated, breath-stealing consequences. Let’s just say… Franklin’s timing might’ve saved them both from something they’d never recover from. 😉

  • Billionaire's Regret: It's Great to See You Again, Daddy!   Chapter 184 — I Never Stopped Waiting.

ALEXANDER'S POVI didn’t expect her to follow me this far down, especially not after the way she froze at the top of the stairs or the way she looked at me when she heard the sounds of people moaning in other rooms..Katherine always had that mix of curiosity and caution, she’d question everything, argue her way out of anything, and yet somehow, when it came to me, she’d still end up trusting me. Even when she shouldn’t and while I don't really show it to her, I really appreciate it.This was the Owl's secret spot for couples to make out or do whatever it was that they wanted to do with each other but it was more than a mini brothel to me.The door creaked open, revealing a dimly lit room bathed in amber light. The air smelled faintly of bourbon and vanilla, with a hint of old records playing from somewhere unseen.“Okay,” she said, still clutching her bag like it was her shield. “What is this place?”I smiled and stepped aside, motioning her in. “You’ll find out soon enough.”She fro

  • Billionaire's Regret: It's Great to See You Again, Daddy!   Chapter 183 — Did You Ever Regret It?

KATHERINE'S POV I didn't expect him to catch that but then again Alex’s ears are more active than ever whenever it comes to anything related to our complicated relationship. He was staring at me with a boyish grin as he mocked me for saying what I said earlier. Why on earth did I say that in the first place? I barely realized what I said then because I was too focused on Ava's hand on Alex.Or the fact that he seemed completely comfortable with her despite the fact that I was in front of him.“When did you start being close friends with bartenders?” I asked, quickly changing the topic with hopes that he'll forget what I said.He cocked his head and leaned back against his chair.“Ava and I became close about six years ago. She's a fun person and she doesn't bother me so…” he shrugged. So she was right.Alex couldn't forget me for the past six years? Why didn't he try to find me? Or try to reach out to me all those years if he was truly unable to forget me?“I see. Is it true then? Wh

  • Billionaire's Regret: It's Great to See You Again, Daddy!    Chapter 182 — So… Wife, huh?

ALEXANDER'S POV I could tell that Katherine suspected something was up with me from the way she quietly let go of me when I held her earlier. She probably thought that I was still mad at her or something but how could I tell her that I was mad at myself? The cool water hitting my head and dropping down my body was not enough to calm down the engines running in my head as I tried to figure out who exactly could hold a vendetta against me. The problem was that the list ran wild. A lot of people hated me, and I wasn’t exactly pleasant enough to be considered likeable. Certainly, only the obsessed females surrounded me—because of money and fame. One thing I despised the most, because there was no genuine care there. I reached for the tap and turned it off, grabbing a towel before stepping out of the bathroom. Katherine wasn't sitting on the bed like I expected and that made me feel a bit relieved until I dressed up and walked downstairs to see that she wasn't in the sitting room e

  • Billionaire's Regret: It's Great to See You Again, Daddy!   Chapter 181 — Then Who?

KATHERINE’S POV The sound of the shower running upstairs was my cue. I waited for about five minutes, pretending to scroll through my phone on the couch just to make sure Alex was actually bathing and not pretending to. The man had gotten far too good at hiding things lately and if there was one thing I hated, it was being kept in the dark like a child who couldn’t handle the truth. When I was sure the water hadn’t stopped, I stood up quietly, slipped out of my slippers, and walked toward the door that led to the main hallway. The house was unusually quiet and usually I would have been grateful for the quiet but not tonight. Even Franklin had lowered his game volume, and Beth was nowhere in sight. I knew that my actions would make Alex mad at me, especially once he discovered that I left the house but it was either this or him telling me what happened. And he left me with no option than to do this. The door opened and I quickly glanced back to be sure that no one was behind me b

  • Billionaire's Regret: It's Great to See You Again, Daddy!   Chapter 180 — Why Is Alex Scared of Me Talking to Beth?

KATHERINE'S POV I never knew what the exact definition of awkwardness meant until this moment. The house was silent, save for the occasional excited yells of Franklin as he played his favorite video game in his bedroom upstairs. The mistake I made was choosing to stay downstairs when Franklin suddenly decided he needed a change of environment to play his game better. It never crossed my mind that Beth was still in the house or that she was a neat freak who was obsessed with cleaning the house. She walked into the sitting room some minutes after Franklin walked upstairs and nodded at me before rearranging the house and I was left with nothing to do but stare at her as she worked. Of course I could just walk upstairs and leave her to work but I figured she might assume that I don't like her if I do so, that's if she doesn't already think so. So I sat like a little kid who was told to stay put and simply played with my phone avoiding looking up or making any contact with her. My

  • Billionaire's Regret: It's Great to See You Again, Daddy!    Chapter 179 — You Think It Was Me All Along?

ALEXANDER'S POV I watched him with clouded eyes, the way he stood confidently like he belonged here. Something about that smug look on his face made me feel like punching him, to feel the way his skin sagged against my knuckles.“Alex! Funny running into you,” He said in what sounded like a jovial tone but I could tell that it was everything but it.“I know right? What are the odds of you running into me at my own company? We seem to run into each other too much. I'm starting to think we're soulmates,” I responded dryly. He wasn't immune to my comment and scoffed before stepping into the elevator. “Charles,” Henry acknowledged him. I was quick to notice that he didn't spare him the formality he would have given anyone else and I was grateful for it.“Hello,” Charles nodded back at him and turned his attention to me, “I was on my way to see you and I ran into some…I don't know, fans of yours?”I had to stop myself from lurching at him and smacking that look off his face. He must r
