The details will be here in a minute" Lillian said before removing the glasses from her face. "As a doctor, may I ask the reason you are concerned about the patient?" She said.

"Nothing," Jack replied, still with a straight face.  "Then I can't get the files for you, all our patient's information are meant to be hidden perfectly" she said with a smirk.

"Okay" Jack said in an attempt to stand up but Lilian pouted, "can't I be professional to squeeze information out of you?" She complained.

Before further interaction, a knock was heard at the door, Lilian glared her brother before she allowed the person to come in.

It's turns out to be Mrs Nola, Lilian smiled as Mrs Nola walked forward, "good day ma, good day sir" she said as her movement stopped when she saw the young man that helped her with the vase.

" This is the file you sent for" she said as she quickly recovered to cover up her embarrassment. This didnt go without Jack's notice. 

"I was informed that you are the one personally taking care of miss Regina, may I know her situation" Lilian said and collected the file from her.

"Ma, she has a chronic heart disease that requires heart surgery but presently we have given up hope as she is not financially capable to get the surgery done, she is an orphan. She just lost the last person with her today." 

Mrs Nola said with a very serious professional look. Jack was surprised as to how woman switch from one mood to another.

It was damn too fast.

"As a donor be found?" Lilian asked and Mrs Nola peeped at the file before answering. "No ma, she was likely not to proceed to that point that why we did find a donor for her" 

She sighs before she continued, "I am just stabilizing her on drugs and drips, she also knows her situation and isn't willing for more".

Mrs Nola was already sounding emotional at the last point. Lilian lifted her head and understood the situation with Mrs Nola expression.

"Okay, thanks, Mrs Nola, I will get back to you, when necessary." Lilian said as she closed Regina's files and shifted it to her left side indicating she will check on it later.

"Bye ma" Mrs Nola said and walked out. Lilian took a deep breath and opened the file again. She started reading through.

The files was reflecting that if her surgery gets delayed a little long, she will be left with 30% chance to life.

 

Lilian has never seen someone who high chance and low opportunity in this life. She is just twenty one years. A thought popped up in her head.

"Why don't we adopt her, give her our name, and pay for her treatment. She has same blood type with mum, I'm sure we could give her mum's heart and …" 

Lilian happily said but before she could complete her word she heard a silent "no". She thought she was hallucinating as the only one with her is her brother and he won't say a silent "no".

"No, adoption, no, surgery" Jack said cutting her happiness short.

"Bro, this is saving someone's life with mum's, just the heart and we can lay her to rest, we are unable to save mum, we can save her" Lilian said with a very serious expression.

"I still don't agree" Jack said and stood up from where he was sitting and headed for the door. Lilian could see her chances slipping away from her palm. 

"Okay, we give her the heart, I come back home" she said and Jack's eye darkened and he turned back immediately. 

Jack looked at her with a concerned face as he couldn't believe Lilian said those words. It was really unexpected.

"You heard me, deal or no deal" Lilian said and Jack looked at her seriously to test her honesty and it was fully intact.

"Miss Lilian Garcia, are you ready to embarce that old name, Lilian Bright?" He asked and walked back to the seat.

Lilian sighs twice and looked straight into Jack's eye, "Yes" she confirmed and Jack chuckled.

"You didn't need to go this far as I already planned on supporting the idea after two days, but since you already said that yourself, deal" 

Jack said and laughed, Lilian was so shocked. She didn't believe she digged a grave and fell right into it. She didn't see that coming.

"So, fast track the surgery, All the best, update on the details later, bye" Jack said and walked out. Lilian couldn't help but released her emotions on the poor table.

She kicked and hit it before calming down. She really made a deal to go back to the bright.she never dreamt of a day like this.

Jack walked staright to his mother's ward, he went and held her hand, he looked at the woman who was so pale and attached to the machine beside her.

"Mum, I know you can hear me, I'm sorry I didn't protect you well, I really tried to make you stay but you are suffering already" he said and kissed her hand.

"I will be giving your heart to a lady who is in pain as well, made, you will live in her and be happy, mum" he said and kissed her face  deeply before he walked out.

He keep his emotions in check as tears threatened to fall. He made a trip to Regina's ward to meet the lady in question.

He got to the room and was about to open when a call came in on his phone. He hesitate for a while for he finally reached out to pick and walked out of the hospital.

In Lillian's office

She started to issue the letter for the permission to embark on the journey. Before she could complete the work. Her phone beeped.

She wanted to ignore but she is a doctor, every minute is expensive.

She picked up her phone and checked the message. She was surprised at the message. Jack was really serious about  helping the lady.

Jack already sent the whole money for the surgery. Lilian smiled and picked up few things necessary from her table and went straight to the director office.

She knocked twice and the man called her in. "Good day, director" she said and the man looked up. He gave his rare smile as he stopped what he was doing.

"Miss Lilian, good day, how many I help you?" He asked and Lilian tended the files in her hand. The man shifted his glasses closer upward before picking the files and reading it through.

"Whoa, that's very thoughtful of Mr Jack to help the young lady, I will talk to the lady's family member and come to an agreement" he said.

Lilian smiled and another him another paper, "sir, she is an orphan, it was the matron that took responsibility for her hospital bills since she has been here" 

Lilian sighs a little and continued, "Mr jack Bright, is ready to take full responsibility of all the bills for the surgery and he wants to keep this profile secretive". 

The director removed his glasses from his face, he was surprised at the extent by which Mr jack was willing to help the young lady in question.

"Do you know Mr jack personally?" The directors asked after many thoughts. Lilian looked straight at him and smiled.

"Why did you ask sir?" Lilian asked and the director passed the file back to her.

"I want to meet the man who is so kind hearted to have help a young lady, he doesn't know, or am I wrong?" The directors asked.

"I was his mother personal doctor, so I think he is just being kind like her, I don't have any other personal contact with the man in question, Sir" Lilian answered respectively.

"Okay, I wish you best of luck" he said and Lilian stood up, "thanks sir" she said and walked out.

She headed straight to level one and informed the matron to get Regina, who was in a deep sleep ready for the surgery.

Mrs Nola was confused at first that such favour could locate Regina. She could not stop her tears as she thanked Lilian greatly for her help.

The surgery equipment was prepared within 2hours and the two patients were taken to the theater as well.

Lilian went into the theater with her team. She looked at her mother and held her hand for few seconds inorder not to arouse the teams suspicion.

She looked at the young lady that was also brought in and smiled. "So help me God" she said before they official started the surgery.

After thirteen hours of surgery, Lilian walked out of the theater exhausted,the first person she met was Mrs Nola.

"It was successfully" she said and Mrs Nola handed a bottle of water to her. "Are you okay?" Mrs Nola asked and she smiled.

Lilian wanted to walk away when Mrs Nola held her. "We have to talk" she said and Lilian was surprised.

She looked staright into her eye and nodded. They both walked away toward her office.

After 12 hours of resting, Regina finally woke up, she looked up and saw the white ceiling above her. 

She looked around and realized the room she was had changed. She wanted to stand but she w as just so weak.

She tried remembering what happened and how she got to this nice ward. She still could remember anything apart from Peter's last words to her.

The door of the ward opened, she looked at the direction and saw a female doctor walked in. Her steps were nice and she looked so beautiful.

Her smile were just as captivating as her eye. "Morning" Lilian said to Regina and she smiled back at her.

Lilian lifted the cup of water that was by the bed side and gave it to her. Regina drank little water and Lilian returned the cup.

She walked to the other side and lifted the chair to the side of the bed and sat beside her. "My name is Lilian, I'm a doctor as you might have guessed, all thanks to the outfit" 

Lilian introduced herself in a funny way and Regina laughed. "How are you feeling?" She asked.

"My name is Regina, Im a patient as you might have guessed, all thanks to this outfit, and I must say, I feel fine apart from the fact that I'm weak".

Lilian chuckled after Regina's imitating speech. "I'm happy you are fine, that means the surgery was successfully" she said and held her hand.

"Surgery?" Regina asked as he was totally confused about what Lilian just said. Before Lilian could talk further, the door opened.

"My baby is awake" Mrs Nola said and walked into the ward, she wasn't so surprised to see Lilian beside her.

"Doctor Lilian, you should be resting now" she said and placed the meal she brought in on the table.

"I have rested" Lilian answered and smiled. "I left a meal for you on your table, go and eat" Mrs Nola said and urges her to leave.

Lilian had no alternative that to listen to the old woman. Immediately, she left, Regina looked at her with a questioning gaze.

"Yes, I know we have to talk, but you need to eat first" Mrs Nola said and brought out Regina's food.

She helped Regina to sit properly and started feeding her. After the meal, Mrs Nola cleaned up and sat beside her.

"Yes, you finally had a donor and the surgery was done" she said and Regina eye was clouded with tears.

"Did Peter do this?" She asked and Mrs Nola smacked her head, "ouch" she cried out but she didn't care at all.

Mrs Nola went to her bag and picked her phone, opened it and showed her the video of Peter and his new wife, Vivian, wedding taking place at the moment at a big hall in town.

"He really cheated on me!" She said and tears rolled down her eye.
