Chapter 4

It was a new week, and Alex was completely lost in thoughts even though he seemed engrossed in a file in his office. He was an impatient man but he was trying so hard not to stand up, drive his car, and zoomed toward the restaurant Elena works in. He missed her so much and decided to see her only to find out he was a father.

It's something he couldn't even tell his parents until he got closer to them. He wants her back, so badly but he needed to give her time, more space since he knew his appearance overwhelmed her.

He doesn't normally think like this, but for Elena he does. It was due to the love he has for her, the love that makes him different from her.

He wished he realized it sooner. The simple difference in the picture. He was so blinded by rage that he couldn't even see clearly or think straight.

His door opened, revealing his secretary. She smiled as she walked toward him. "Mr. Black."

Alex looked at his wristwatch and back at her with a serious expression. "Why are you here?"

Her mouth twitched, due to his glare at her. He never actually noticed her, not once. No matter how beautiful she dressed, or how sexy she looked. "Your sister is here, sir."

Alex nodded. "Let her in."

She nodded and left. In no time, Andrea walked in with a broad smile on her face. "Hi, brother." She chuckled and walked past the couches toward his desk. "I'm sorry I didn't call you to ask how it went..." She paused, dragging a chair and sitting down. "I was so busy." She explained.

Alex just nodded without care, leaning against his swivel chair. "Yeah."

"So how did it go? I know she won't accept you that easily but at least you took a step."

Alex looked at her. "Did you know she was pregnant?" He asked because his sister and Elena were close back then.

Andrea shook her head, her brows furrowed in confusion. "No she didn't. Although I felt she was hiding something, since you guys separated, we became distant even when I wanted to get close."

He sighed.

"Why?" Andrea asked.

"I have two kids."

"What?" Andrea blurted out.

"Alexander and Amy." He made it known.

Her mouth fell open at the information. "Oh my God. A boy and a girl. What are you going to do?" She asked worriedly.

"I'm being calm." He told her.

"And what do you mean by that?"

"I'm giving her space. She's gonna talk to the kids so I'm giving her time."

Andrea nodded in understanding. "Okay, just be careful, okay? She's not like other girls. You won't find it easy."

Alex nodded. "Yeah. I know I won't."

"I could help you talk to her if you want..."

"I don't need your help. We'll get close once again, and I'll make sure of that. She won't be able to resist me."

"I hope you didn't show her this side of you." Andrea wished.

"She knows me, and she loves me regardless. It'll be hard, I know but I'll try. I'll have her back and be in my kids' lives as a father who's married to their mom." He promised, assuring himself.

Andrea nodded. "Okay. I'm sure you can do it. Next time, don't let your anger get the best of you."

He glared at her. "Better keep quiet."

She looked away. "So, uh, are you gonna tell mom and dad...and Andrew?"

"I'll tell them when I have her so better keep your mouth shut."

She pouted. "But what about Andrew?"

"As I said, keep your mouth shut, Andrea."

Andrea scoffed. "Whatever." She stood up. "I should leave you then." She said with a funny face and walked out.

He looked away like someone tasked with the greatest impossible thing. He hasn't even seen his daughter yet.

He really needs to be smart, and show her he can be a patient man. He's gonna have to leave for a while.

*********

"I'm not sure I like where things are going. He found out."

The man nodded. "Unfortunately, but it doesn't matter. It's not as if he knows anything important yet."

"It matters to me. Do you know what I can achieve if they're apart?"

"Everyone wants to achieve something, Fiona. We all want to achieve something, and we definitely will."

"I don't care if they die together, as long as I get what I want." Another lady said.

"I really don't want that." Fiona made it known.

"Well, you couldn't get him, right? You failed."

Fiona blinked and looked away. She remembered how she tried so hard to get close when he was vulnerable but his stupid sister was always there.

Always watching him like a hawk, like she's got nothing better to do.

"So what next?" Someone asked. "Are we just gonna let them be together now?"

"He's on us, so if we do something, he'll know. I can't allow her finding about her life. I want that man I took as a friend to suffer all his life."

"And the wealth he has? What if he dies?" The lady asked.

"He won't. He's a determined man."

"What about Alex and Elena?" Fiona asked.

"It'll be difficult for them to come back together."

"They have children," Fiona stated.

"I said it'll be difficult, but it's inevitable."

"Are we just supposed to relax now?"

"We are supposed to watch and tread carefully. I do not want my plans going sideways."

They all nodded.
