The stubborn key

Cedric's POV

The club was packed , it was not my scene but I had to be where he was. I wanted to see him up close and maybe even have a conversation with him. He sat with important people far from other people. The general kind.

I followed him and never lost sight of him.I think instinct told him he was being watched. I think it became too much because he called in a few guys to beef up security but that didn't stop me. I wasn't going to touch him. I just wanted to look at him. He was a beautiful man, I must confess. I knew he was the one the day I laid eyes on him.

My thoughts took me back to the very first day I saw him.He was drunk and he could barely stand. It was a Friday night. How he had managed to drink himself to paralysis surprised me. On this particular Friday night he was alone and he was going to do a reckless thing and drive himself.

I saw him struggle to insert the key to open his car door and I knew I had to come to his rescue. I remember very well taking the key from him and he couldn't even fight me.

"What's your address , i will drive you home" I had said.

"145" he trailed off and knocked out flat.

"F###" I cursed under my breath. What was I going to do with him?

I searched his belongings and stumbled upon a diary that had his details including those of his family. Rich spoiled kid I thought. I had driven him to his place and dumped him right in his bed and he hadn't seen me nor put up a fight.

I walked all the way back to the other end of town. I cursed and regretted my decision of not having taken his car back with me but I thought he would have probably reported it missing and I would have been arrested for theft.

I had never seen anyone so reckless. I took it upon myself to shadow him and make sure he was safe or much rather to please my eyes.

Quite a task I was giving myself considering I had my sick mother to take care off and a cougar to please.

My thoughts kept me company while I watched him and the crowd he kept. I thought of what Friday nights would be like if I managed to charm him into having a relationship with me. I laughed at my foolishness and continued sipping on the drink I had been nursing the whole night.

I stuck around and watched him. He drank too much, I thought to myself and his twig of a friend is like a fish, he keeps gulping down shots mixed with champagne. I almost felt sorry for him, imagining the mother of a hangovers he was going to have the next day.

I sat in my corner and watched them. It's like he felt me watch him because he suddenly sat down and looked uncomfortable. A guy with long hair came in and took him with. I followed them. I had stood in the wall way for a while when I decided to go get me another drink and come back. On my way back I bump into him, because of my body he stumbles back and balances himself with the railing.

I could have knocked him out cold. I am a giant and he is just skinny and not even that tall. I guess I understand why he feels the need to be extra safe.

I had my back to him and I never for once turned to look at him. I felt his curiosity still I remained with my back to him.

"Watch where you are going" I said

"Maybe if you watched where you where going ,you wouldn't bump into people" he responded

I laughed and walked off leaving him standing and watching my back as I disappeared into the dark corridor. I sat and waited for him to leave. The bartender kept asking me for what I would drink as I had finished my drink. I settled for water.

" who comes to the club to drink water" he asked in an amused voice

" I do" I said looking at him

"That is really strange, you would have thought a hot guy like you would have picked up someone by now" he says

"I'm here for the music" I lie through my teeth.

"I would believe it, if the sound of the same music didn't make you look constipated and in pain." he shouted at the top of his lungs.

"Wow ,you are quite the observer", I said.

" It's my job to please " he said.

I redirected my eyes to the one person that had brought me here. He was now seated with his friends and having a blast. I sat and watched attentively.

A tap on my shoulder snaps me out of my thoughts and I direct my thoughts to the person that taped me. With a smile on his face the bartender looks at me and sighs before saying.

"Are you looking for someone to take home tonight?"

"No I am ok really" I respond.

"It's easy to get someone" he says

"I have my eye on someone," I try to discourage him but he flashes me a sexy, seductive smile that makes me cringe.

I felt the atmosphere change. I guess it was because I felt the bartender hitting on me. I had more pressing issues I needed to focus on and that was the man I really wanted.

I looked at him in disapproval and he stepped back and gave up and I went back to looking on at the man who made my heart skip.

Right at that moment I saw him stand up to leave and I stood up too and headed out with him. Maybe just like the other week he was going to need me to drive him.
