Chapter 2: The Lycan Got People's Admiration

However, the fierce blow I expected never came. I heard a familiar faint laugh, so I slowly raised my head.

It was Ivy Taylor, my twin sister.

We were born identical but carried two completely opposite fates. Ivy was like a child chosen by the gods, becoming the strongest Alpha of the Taylor Pack.

As for me, I was the weakest Omega in the pack.

So pathetic it was hard to even look at!

Ivy hated me because I was an insult to her. If I said I wasn't jealous of Ivy, that would be a lie. Why were we born the same, yet only I ended up as such a miserable wreck?

But more than jealousy, I wished there were no barriers between us and that we could be a normal pair of sisters.

Ivy looked at me with a cold glance and gave a faint mocking smile.

"You're still as useless as ever, not a single bit of change."

I looked up at Ivy, feeling deeply wronged and wanting to say that I was also a victim of everything. But those words eventually got stuck in my throat and couldn't come out.

I silently lowered my head.

That's right, this world operates by the strong, and there's no place for the weak. Complaining was meaningless.

Ivy sat down across from me. She reached out and grabbed my face, frowning with an annoyed expression.

"How pathetic!"

Ivy pulled her hand away and stood up with a frustrated demeanor. She brushed off her hands and said.

"I tried to get you in here thinking I'd give you a chance to train yourself and become stronger. I didn't expect you to become the strongest, but at least you could call out the wolf inside you."

"And yet in the end, you're still just a failure."

I pursed my lips. I also wanted to become a proud wolf and no longer be this pathetic, but was that really something achievable just through my own efforts?

I had tried so hard, tried for over ten years.

Carrying so much hope, on the day of the coming-of-age ceremony, I put in so much effort to summon the wolf inside me to appear. But... nothing responded to me except the disappointed looks from my parents, and the frustration and contempt from my Alpha sister.

Ivy let out a helpless sigh.

"If you don't want to be bullied to death, then become stronger."

She tossed me a towel and then walked away coldly. I looked at the towel in my hands, feeling a little heavy inside.

That's right, I shouldn't expect too much. She was someone in a high position, what benefit would there be in being kind to a weakling like me?

I quietly used the towel to wipe the water stains on my body. Although her words to me were bitter, this towel was very soft.

I knew I shouldn't delude myself, but just for this moment, I would selfishly take this as her kindness toward me. At least it made me believe that there was still someone who was good to me, and that way I would have the strength to keep clinging to this cold life.

After tidying up my hair and clothes, I slowly walked outside. I walked along the hallway, the golden sunset shining through the glass windows. All I wanted now was to quickly return to my dorm room.

Passing by the sports field, I paused for a moment when I saw many girls cheering for the team on the field. Seeing them happily enjoying their school life like that made me envious. Perhaps I could never blend into that atmosphere.

The boys playing soccer on the field and receiving enthusiastic cheers from the girls were all those who would become the strongest Alphas, or Betas with handsome attractive looks, and even Lycans.

Compared to strong Alphas, Lycans were existences so noble that even Alphas wouldn't dare raise their heads. Wolves carrying ancient bloodlines with superior strength, they were existences that could be considered gods in this world.

They were people I could never reach or become.

The most famous Lycan at Moonlight Academy was Lucian Kingsley, the one standing right in the center of the circle of strong Alphas. A smile bloomed on my face as I received the excited screams from the cheering girls in the field.

Lucian was born with strength in his blood and is an existence no one can replace.

Even his appearance alone makes ordinary people like me feel incomparable.

His golden hair shines brilliantly under the sunlight, almost blinding. That handsome face, harmonious features, and confident posture with his head held high are not something that can be imitated.

What makes Lucian more special than others is his blue eyes, which feel like sinking into a vast ocean every time you look into them.

I clenched my hand, feeling a bitterness in my heart that choked me.

"How enviable..."

People born strong like him will never have to endure the miserable fate I face. To be more precise, he would never understand what someone born weak has to bear.

Since this world has always been so unfair, I no longer want to resist.

No matter what I try to do, I cannot change the fact that people like me will never have a voice.

I know it's selfish, but I wish those strong people could experience once what it feels like to be us, those who are powerless against a cruel fate.

Lucian, that perfect man, is Ivy's fiancé.

I let out a soft sigh.

"Nothing will change after he marries my sister, and that's for the best. I just hope he won't be too harsh on me."

After all, these things have nothing to do with me. I need to prepare for the enrollment ceremony tomorrow morning. At the very least, I have to try to meet the minimum admission standards, or else I won't even be able to become an official student of this academy.

It's just that reality is cruel. Occasionally, the effort I pour my entire life into amounts to nothing more than a tiny, insignificant grain of sand.

The teacher's cold voice rang out:

"Julia Taylor, failed!"

Chapter 20: Caught My steps had long become unsteady, my heart pounding so fast I felt like my chest was about to explode. That bastard Lucian, why on earth wouldn't he just give this up?I knew very well that if I were truly caught this time, there would be no way to hide it anymore.Lucian wouldn't believe any explanation from me, and the truth that I was a powerful Healer would become my fatal weakness. When I was little, there was a very skilled Healer in the Pack. She had a kind face, but there was always a hint of sorrow in her expression. In my mind back then, a Healer was someone who carried the power of healing and had a heart that loved everyone. But that Healer never seemed happy, and she would get very irritable when she had to treat someone. I didn't understand at the time why she was like that, wasn't having the ability to save everyone a wonderful thing? It wasn't until I grew a bit older that I learned why she was never happy about it.Because being a Healer for the P

Chapter 19: Being discovered by scent!Nathan seemed somewhat surprised by my cold attitude. He raised an eyebrow and quietly asked again."Did I do something to make you unhappy? You look dissatisfied."I silently sighed inwardly. Was he really unaware, which was why he asked? That's right, he was also a proud, foolish Alpha. Even if I told him about my hardships and troubles, he probably wouldn't understand.I rolled my eyes, casually replied with a sentence, then waved my hand in farewell."Think whatever you want. If there's nothing else, I'll be on my way."I left without even bothering to look back to see Nathan's expression. Although he spoke and behaved quite politely toward me, the fact that the club members left all the work to a girl like me to do was still an undeniable truth. At the end of that day, just like other days, I stayed alone to clean up after training. While I was putting away the training equipment in the room, a thunderclap outside rang out, startling me so m

Chapter 18: The Rivalry Between the LycansA few days after becoming the manager, I gradually got familiar with my work. At first, since I wasn't used to it, I found it quite tough, but after getting the hang of it and developing a certain feel for it, I started to think this job wasn't too bad.Of course, the way the team members treated me was still... terribly bad!But one good thing I got from becoming the manager was that, because I was so busy, I went straight there after class and didn't cross paths with anyone else, so no one could deliberately bully me anymore.I sighed, muttering to myself while hanging up the team members' uniforms."I should be grateful they aren't treating me cruelly. At least they aren't trying to pick on me."Although the team members weren't too friendly toward me and piled a lot of work on my shoulders, they were actually better than the other students at the academy. Because their arrogance was quite high, a small person like me naturally couldn't ca

Chapter 17: The Hard WorkEarly the next morning, I held the application form in my hand and walked straight to the football club room. I had thought it over all night, struggled with it all night before making this decision.Even though I knew this path wouldn't be easy for me, this was already my final choice. Facing the deep sea ahead and the abyss behind, there was no point comparing which was better.Of course, I had no passion for the football club, and I couldn't understand what that bastard Lucian was thinking by dragging me into this position.I stood in front of the club room door for a long while before knocking and stepping inside. As I walked in, I happened to run into the former female manager who was packing up her belongings and getting ready to leave. When she saw me holding the form in my hand, she pointed toward the table near the window and spoke."You're here to submit an application, just leave it there and someone will come by to review and approve it. It'll pro

Chapter 16: Unable to Resist LucianI raised my hand and gently pushed Lucian's hand away from my face, speaking softly."Don't touch me casually."Lucian looked at me with a surprised and intrigued expression. He didn't seem angry about what I had just done.Actually, I couldn't understand Lucian at all, precisely because I didn't know where his limits were and how disrespectful I could be. Over the past few days, there were times Lucian would get angry over very small and unexpected things. He seemed to dislike others going against his words, perhaps because the pride of a high-ranking Lycan didn't allow being looked down upon to happen. Lucian easily lost his temper with those around him over just a small action of theirs. But he didn't get angry at my attitude, I didn't know the exact reason, but it seemed Lucian was quite... tolerant of me.Lucian crossed his arms, leaned against the window, and looked at me with the gaze of a god looking down from above. He let out a cold snort

If you find things too difficult and need someone to talk to, just let me know. I might not be able to help much, but I think your sorrow will ease a little when you share it with others."I smiled, nodded, and replied softly."Alright, thank you for listening to what I had to say."After that, Monica left, and the feeling inside me truly did become much lighter. Even though that day was still a terrible one for me, at least when I sat on the balcony, I saw a very beautiful sunset at the far end of the horizon.Perhaps gloomy, unhappy days all come to an end eventually. Although that ending didn't make me feel any happier, it seemed not all endings were ugly and frightening. At least on that afternoon, I knew I had friends who were willing to listen to what I said and help me quietly and silent
