Chapter 5: Ambushed and on the Run

Lucian wiped the blood streaming down his face with his hand and grumbled.

"Damn it! Those people really want to kill me!"

He glanced over at me, his eyes momentarily startled when he saw the wound on my body. Lucian seemed very angry. He ran his hand through his hair and spoke quietly.

"There's no other choice. I never expected the first person to ride on my back would be an Omega."

Before I could even understand what he meant, Lucian in front of me crouched down, his body swelling beneath his clothes before transforming into a massive wolf nearly two meters tall with jet-black fur. I stumbled back in shock, my nerves tensing like guitar strings.

In my life, I had never seen a wolf so huge and powerful. Was this the noble existence known as a Lycan?

Perhaps it was because of his ancient bloodline that even his true form was this terrifying.

Seeing this made it even clearer why so many people craved the Lycan bloodline to such an extent. With just this presence alone, Lucian could trample over countless proud wolves.

I felt breathless standing before such an existence.

Lucian frowned, nudged his nose toward me, and snapped.

"Hey hey! Don't just stand there staring like an idiot! Grab my clothes and climb onto my back."

Only then did I understand what Lucian had said earlier. I hurriedly picked up the clothes that had fallen to the ground and clumsily climbed onto his back as he lowered himself. Lucian glanced at me, and I could feel him letting out a helpless, mocking sigh at me.

"Look at you struggling so pathetically. Truly weak!"

I frowned. After all, the situation was critical, which was the only reason I had to cling to him like this. On any normal day, I wouldn't have bothered with him at all.

Lucian looked around once, carried me on his back, and told me to hold on tight. Then, he decisively lunged forward, charging straight at the glass window with his front paws.

The window frame shattered, and Lucian carried me leaping out into the air, landing on the ground unscathed. Shards from the window frame grazed my arm and shoulder, making me wince slightly.

I secretly felt relieved, thinking we had escaped, but just as Lucian was about to find an exit, we were surrounded by four people dressed in black wearing masks with a strange silver-rimmed black moon symbol.

Judging by their aura, it was clear they came with ill intentions.

Lucian seemed to sense the danger too, growling furiously. I tried to crouch low, my hands gripping Lucian's back as I struggled to stay calm.

"Blowing up the building and isolating us somewhere the teachers don't know about, it seems Black Moon Temple really went all out just to kill me, huh?"

One of them pointed at Lucian and shouted.

"Lycan of the Kingsley Pack, today you must surrender your life as a sacrifice to the power of the Black Moon Goddess! Prepare to die!"

Lucian gritted his teeth and muttered.

"Black Moon? What a bunch of madmen! If you want my life, let's see how capable you really are!"

The four of them roared in unison, then crouched down and transformed into gray wolves. Naturally, their wolf forms were tiny compared to Lucian, but every single one of them looked ferocious.

I glanced at Lucian. I knew very well just how powerful a Lycan was. But facing four opponents at once, could Lucian pull through?

Not to mention he was now burdened by my presence...

"Careful! Hold on tight!"

With that, Lucian charged forward fiercely.

The four wolves rushed in at once. Lucian quickly leaped over the first three and aimed straight for the last one. He opened his mouth wide, sinking his fangs deep into the opponent's neck.

That wolf struggled under Lucian's jaws, swinging its claws, but Lucian was a step faster. He pinned the opponent down with his front paws, decisively bit off a large chunk of flesh, and spat it out.

In a very brief moment, the targeted wolf had its neck artery torn open, collapsing to the ground and twitching pitifully.Lucian still remained completely unharmed, causing the other three wolves to exchange wary glances. It was only at this moment that I truly understood just how powerful the Lycan strength was.

That was truly an overwhelming power!

The three wolves growled and then lunged at Lucian all at once, raising their claws toward me while Lucian was busy fending off their relentless attacks. I ducked down, expecting to take a painful hit, but Lucian suddenly spun around and took the full brunt of that attack.

The claw marks cut deep into his flesh, fresh red blood flowing out and soaking into his jet-black fur. Although Lucian had shielded me, I still got scratched on a section of my leg, blood beginning to flow and a numbing sensation making my head spin.

Lucian had bitten the leg of another wolf, but it seemed they were truly determined to risk their lives and had no intention of backing down.

I could feel Lucian's breathing getting worse and worse; he had already been injured protecting me inside the fire. Moreover, despite being strong, Lucian was still too young, lacking much combat experience, and truly could not hold his own against these four cunning, desperate foes.

I leaned down and spoke softly to Lucian.

"Run into the forest, you're faster, that way we can survive and wait for the teachers to come and rescue us."

Lucian let out a dissatisfied growl, and I understood that he didn't want to flee like a coward.

I patted Lucian's back gently and said.

"Given the situation, staying alive is the best choice. You have to survive to become a great Lycan; if you die, no one will care whether you were a cowardly Lycan or a brave Omega. If you want to be the victor, you need to be a little more rational!"

In the end, Lucian had no choice but to flee into the forest within the academy grounds. After a tense chase, Lucian and I reached a hidden cave.

I rolled off Lucian's back, about to thank him for saving my life, when Lucian's massive frame collapsed to the ground!

Lucian's entire giant wolf body trembled violently, and then he shifted back into his naked human form, covered in wounds and drenched in blood.

Chapter 16: Unable to Resist LucianI raised my hand and gently pushed Lucian's hand away from my face, speaking softly."Don't touch me casually."Lucian looked at me with a surprised and intrigued expression. He didn't seem angry about what I had just done.Actually, I couldn't understand Lucian at all, precisely because I didn't know where his limits were and how disrespectful I could be. Over the past few days, there were times Lucian would get angry over very small and unexpected things. He seemed to dislike others going against his words, perhaps because the pride of a high-ranking Lycan didn't allow being looked down upon to happen. Lucian easily lost his temper with those around him over just a small action of theirs. But he didn't get angry at my attitude, I didn't know the exact reason, but it seemed Lucian was quite... tolerant of me.Lucian crossed his arms, leaned against the window, and looked at me with the gaze of a god looking down from above. He let out a cold snort

If you find things too difficult and need someone to talk to, just let me know. I might not be able to help much, but I think your sorrow will ease a little when you share it with others."I smiled, nodded, and replied softly."Alright, thank you for listening to what I had to say."After that, Monica left, and the feeling inside me truly did become much lighter. Even though that day was still a terrible one for me, at least when I sat on the balcony, I saw a very beautiful sunset at the far end of the horizon.Perhaps gloomy, unhappy days all come to an end eventually. Although that ending didn't make me feel any happier, it seemed not all endings were ugly and frightening. At least on that afternoon, I knew I had friends who were willing to listen to what I said and help me quietly and silent

Chapter 14: Kingsley PackI looked at Monica and quietly asked again."What about your family? Do they despise your younger brother?"Monica was startled, she looked at me with eyes that seemed to understand everything. Monica shook her head and replied softly."No, my family doesn't feel that being born an Omega is a sin. Although everyone in the Pack doesn't like my brother and also looks at him with contempt. But my parents don't feel that way."I smiled slightly and said."That's really nice!"The years of my life have always been lived in admiration and fear. Admiring others for having love, admiring others for being embraced and loved by their parents, admiring others for not needing to try to do anything and still being able to live an ordinary life.I have always lived in constant fear.Because I have nothing special about myself, I fear that even my existence will be forgotten.Because I am too weak, I fear that I won't be able to protect the things I love. Chapter 13: The HelpI looked up with a start, and everyone else fell silent at the sudden sound. That female student had just turned her head, and when she saw Ivy and Lydia, her face instantly turned pale.Ivy stepped forward, glanced at me, and a flash of anger appeared in her eyes. She walked over, shoved the group of female students aside with one hand, and shot them a cold glare. The two female students exchanged wary glances, took a step back, and then gently tugged at their friend's sleeve as a signal. But that stubborn female student showed no fear at all. She crossed her arms, raised her chin defiantly at Ivy, and spoke first."What's this? Here to protect your useless little sister?"Ivy looked at her, her expression darkening as her hands clenched into fists. Ivy was quite good at controlling her expressions, so many people couldn't tell what she was thinking. However, I had lived with her for so many years. Even though her expression wasn't obvious, I could still tell she

Chapter 12: The Despised OmegaI returned to the dormitory and flopped onto the bed, exhausted. If I could, I wished I could live alone in some remote place and freely do whatever I wanted without having to fear anyone. No wolf lives alone without a Pack, because they know full well that going solo would soon lead to death for countless reasons. The world outside the Pack is much harsher, and I know that all too well. But perhaps in the future, I will become the first in history to leave the Pack or be abandoned by the Pack. Either outcome will probably happen no matter what.I sat up and slapped both sides of my face to snap myself back to alertness."Alright, then I need to prepare myself well so I can survive without anyone's help."Even though that is difficult and truly sad, if I don't want to become someone else's property, that is still the best choice for me.I got off the bed and took out a change of clothes from the closet to put on after showering. Chapter 11: Traces of a ScentI had initially planned to ignore it and leave, but my conscience wouldn't allow it, so I stopped. I walked into the garden and followed the sound, finally finding a small cat with a severe injury to its eye. Its leg seemed to have problems too, making it difficult to move around.I sat down on the grass and reached out to pick up the cat.Examining the wound on its body carefully, it was a scratch from a larger animal.Around the academy garden, many stray cats came and went, and students fed them because they looked quite pitiful. This cat was weak and lame in one leg, so it probably wasn't very well-liked.I reached out and gently stroked its back, asking softly."Did you get this wound fighting over food?"The cat lying in my arms let out a few weak meows. The wound wasn't enough to kill it, but it would cause it pain for a long time and it might lose vision in that eye.For a cat with no ability to fight back and already disabled, this was no differe
