Ned brought Kathy back to the room and carefully examined her, only relaxing when he confirmed she was unharmed.

"Rest well, my dear. I'm going to settle the score with her," Ned kissed Kathy's forehead, closed the door, and turned to find Laura.

Ned searched the entire castle but couldn't find her. In fact, Laura had been at the ancient pond the whole time. She watched as Ned once again abandoned her, believing the lies of that woman, and it was somewhat difficult for her to accept.

Laura thought that she and Ned had established a good trust relationship through their daily interactions. After all, Ned had repeatedly helped her complete her revenge plans, and he should have understood Kathy through her experiences. Why could he still do such a thing?
