Sitting up startled I looked around and realized I was in my room.
“What was that?” I ask to no one.
The dream had already faded, not being able to remember what had startled me I shake my head and roll out of bed. Shuffling towards the bathroom, after showering I put on my fighting clothes and head downstairs and out of the house. Walking towards the training grounds I see Kyle and Chris. I hurry to catch up but stopped myself from interrupting as I heard what they are talking about.
“No Kyle I’m serious. The prince wrote a person invitation for her.” Chris whispered. Hanging back far enough to hear I hid behind the only tree nearby.
“But what does that mean? She wouldn’t leave mom and dad to go to Sapphire city. She knows mom is already freaked that I had to move to be Alpha of Opal.” Kyle replied.
“We don’t even know if she’s his mate and we won’t until next year. I don’t think mom or dad would let her move that far. They’ve always known she might be a Luna someday and that’s why she’s allowed to train with us but a Queen? That’s something completely different.” Chris shot back.
“She’s not even 18 how would he know if she is his mate or not? Plus isn’t he engaged?” Kyle asked.
“Royals are special dumbass. Didn’t you pay attention in school? Some royals have found their mates as young as 5.” Chris said.
While shaking his head and continuing to walk towards training Kyle said “So what even if she is his mate they would have to wait a year for her 18th birthday and yeah I did pay attention to the important stuff.” Chris laughed at this.
“Girls weren’t the important part of school bro.” With that they took off running.
Looking at my phone I realized I was about to be late again.
“Miss Black so glad you could join us.” Mr. Hue said as I sprinted into the training arena.
Both Chris and Kyle laughing at me. I felt myself go bright red as I flung my stuff into a free locker.
“Today will not be as hard as usual.” Mr. Hue started as I slid in between two girls in the circle.
“Today we pass over to a new Alpha. Chris Black.” He nodded towards my brother. “So we will spar for about 2 hours then you are all to go home and prepare for tonight’s run with the new Alpha.” Mr. Hue said with great pride.
Splitting off into pairs we started to spar. I stood in a fighting stance and began to spar with a pack girl; we circled each other and took turns testing our defenses before changing. As we hit and dodged each other I noticed Chris and Kyle watching making me blush at my Alpha brother’s watching me practice fighting.
After 2 hours Mr. Hue finally called time on sparring. With bruises and a split lip I headed back towards the pack house. As I arrived at the front door someone cleared their throat behind me. Startled I turned around to see a rather short man dressed in a two piece suit starring at me.
“H…Hello.” I stuttered out.
“Miss Black I presume.” The man said in an abrupt tone.
“Yes that’s me and you are?” I shot back my eyebrow raising.
“I am Mr. Stanley; I work for the Dawson’s.” He said.
My eyes widening as he said the royal’s last name.
“You have not responded to the Prince Shane’s invitation to his crowning and his mother Queen Robyn needs a response.” He stated narrowing his eyes at me.
“Um a response? Oh yes I will be attending with my family.” I said lost for words.
“Your family being Alpha and Luna Black, Chris, Kyle, James and Eric Black?” He asked scribbling in a notebook.
“Yes that’s right.” I replied trying to see what he was writing.
“They have already responded to their own invitations. I will put you down as confirmed and a request to seat you with your family members. Good day Miss Black.” With that he turned and was disappearing into his car before I could even reply.
“Goodbye Mr. Stanley.” Blinking in confusion I turned and went in to get breakfast.
Chris and Kyle were already wolfing down breakfast when I plopped down next to them my mind racing. Request you be seat with your family. What does that mean?
“Who was that you were talking to Scar?” Kyle asked with his mouth half full. I was about to answer when Lily slapped him.
“Don’t talk with your mouth full it’s not a good look for an Alpha.” She hissed at him. The look they shared still screamed love even with Lily glaring at him.
“Oh Mr. Stanley, he works for the royal’s. He came to get my response to the invitation.” Chris and Kyle shared a look, while Lily broke out in the biggest smile I had ever seen.
After a rough day of a million questions I could not answer from Lily, I was not looking forward to tonight even though we had been planning this most of my life but I was exhausted. A strong energy hung in the air that only happened once every generation every pack member was gathered in the backyard. Chris looking just as powerful as dad took his rightful place next to him and mom on the stage. Dad looked happy and Chris looked nervous but proud I couldn’t help but smile up at them, as Chris took his rightful place as Alpha the power shift was felt by everyone.
Once the ceremony was done he addressed all of us in the pack. He was so commanding when he ordered all wolfs old enough to shift; the pack run strengthened the bond for everyone in Crystal Lake pack so their wolves knew who now held the power in the pack.
Chris fit as Alpha just like he was destined to the only problem was it had been 3 months since his 18th birthday and he had not found his mate yet. After becoming Alpha our neighboring packs had begun to invite him to meetings and events in hopes that he might be mated to one of their daughters. He had visited ten packs and had yet to find his mate. “Don’t worry darling.” Moms voice soft and calming. “You will find your mate. For some it takes time. You will find our new Luna in no time. Just relax and focus on the pack.” Chris nodded and hugged mom but I could feel his stress across the room. “Your mother’s right.” Dad chimed in. “Your mom and I got lucky finding e
After a day of trying on elegant gowns and shoes, giggling and gushing over each other like old times. Lily and I look at the guys and they look so bored I actually felt a little sorry for them. During our first set of dresses I noticed that Lily was sporting my brothers’ mark. It was something actually very beautiful it was a crescent moon with 5 stars around it. “The stars are the number of pup’s we are supposed to have.” Lily said with a twinkle in her eye. I smiled at her knowing we had always talked about our love for children and Lily had wanted them for as long as I had known her. Heading towards lunch as our stomach’s growled. After lunch Lily and I were discussing shoes to go with our new dresses and the boys looked li

Standing in the training area, breathing heavy as my whole body ached. Sparing with Chris had never been hard for me but with him being Alpha now he had gotten so much stronger. My lip was split and I was pretty sure I had a dislocated shoulder but I was pushing through the pain. Right as I was blocking another of Chris’ unrelenting attacks. “Ok that’s time everyone thank you for your hard work today go home and rest.” Mr. Hue’s voice stopped everyone’s fighting. Seeing the state of his little sister Chris looked like he regretted not holding back more“Sorry sis I forgot I have Alpha str
After a lot of congratulations and promising I would call her back to discuss details after my tour with the Prince. I headed back downstairs to see Jamie sitting on the couch playing a driving game against my younger brothers. Smiling to myself as I walked up. “Sorry for the wait. I got some news from my best friend at Opal Moon.” I said. James looked at me with a bright beaming smile knowing it would be something to do with Kyle I nodded at him and rubbed his head. “Not a problem, these two have been beating me bad. I’m glad you’re here to rescue me.” He said as he stood and bowed to my brothers.
Feeling numb, confused and warm as I sat on my bed thinking of what to do next. Unable to think properly I decided to call Lily remembering that I promised to call her once Jamie left. “Hey how’s being engaged?” I asked her as she picked up. “It’s amazing. Are you ok sis you sound weird?” She asked me. My breathe caught as I tried to form the words in my mind. “Um yeah just had a weird day.” I said. She hummed in response knowing
After a night of celebrations, hugs and a lot of congratulations Lily and I fell asleep on the couch together. Waking up the next morning in my bed confused before I shrugged it off and headed to the bathroom. The warm water felt like it was washing away the stress and worry I had been holding for the past few months. After a very long shower I climbed out and sat wrapped in a towel on my bed. Thoughts jumbled in my head making my head feel heavy shaking my head I dried off and walked to my closet. After pulling on black jeans and a fluffy sweatshirt I headed down to find Lily digging through the fridge. “Having fun in there?” I asked with a laugh. “Everything is making me feel gross no matter what I eat I feel l
