Threat
Sitting in the hospital waiting for the doctor was nerve-wracking. Shane held my hand tight as we waited for the scan to see our little peanut. The doctor entered the room greeting us warmly.
"Your highnesses its my pleasure to be helping you today." He said with a bright smile.
"Dr Grant." Shane said with a nod.
"Shall we see how your little bundle of joy is doing?" Dr Grant asked as he rolled over the ultrasound machine.
I nodded eagerly as I squeezed Shane's hand feeling to cold gel on my stomach. He squeezed back smiling widely at me.
"OK! It all looks good. I'm guessing you guys want prints?" He asked.
I nodded. "Yes please we have alot of family wanting to see this little peanut." As I said the nickname he laughed.
He turned the screen and pointed out our baby before leaving the room to let us gush over each other.

After driving for hours my eyes were puffy and red. My throat was so dry and sore from crying and yet all I could do was hold my stomach protectively and silently sob. It was after we had passed a horrific battle at our northern border and entered the rogue nation when the driver finally slowed down and drove normally. He didn't speak much but kept glancing in the rear vision mirror looking at me with what I assumed was pity. He had offered me a bottle of water but I was not going to drink it! My eyes shot open causing me pain from the brightness of the room. I squinted and blinked trying to center myself.
