‘I tried to tell you the night of the ritual. Apparently you forgot that along with what love and consent was. Anyway, the White Wolf stood between me and your blood-thirsty wolves. One snarl from him and they tucked tail and ran.’

‘It could have been someone from the Outlands Pack.’

I shake my head. ‘He was no rogue or outsider. He screamed alpha to me. He looked at me with respect. He was huge and he could tear your pack apart.’

“What did he do?”

‘He stared at me as if he knew me.’

‘Sugar, you were likely in shock. Your mind was playing tricks on you.’

‘NO. It wasn’t. I was calm and ready to filet some wolves. I warned them. That wolf looked me in the eyes. I felt him the same as I feel you.’

‘Don’t romanticize this.’

‘Believe me or not. I know what I saw and felt.’

‘Fine, but don’t follow him, if you see him again.’

‘Excuse me, Frank. You sound like a jealous lover right now. You are the one who fucked this up, not me. I only wanted you. No pack, no title, just you.’

‘I am not jeal

  • Blood Moon   Now I Rise

Jack looks at me. “You…you are the reason.” He walks toward me, but as he does, he shifts. “RUN!” Frank yells.No. I am done running. This is my pack. Frank is my Alpha. Jack is dead. Jack’s wolf lunges for my throat. He is nearly to me when something crashes into his side. Scarlet throws him off balance as she snarls. Jack’s teeth dig into her shoulder. Blood sprays everywhere. She keeps fighting as wolves come to help Jack. She took one of the wolves down, but another bit into her side. “Scarlet!” She falls. Her breath is labored as blood coats the ground. The wolves turn to me. Frank roars, trying to break free. They claw at him, but he keeps fighting to get to me. “Get away from her!” he yells. I watch as what I predicted comes true. His pack turns on him. I snap. The burning rages inside of me. I fall to the ground, and my body begins to contort. My vision goes white, but instead of darkness following, it sharpens. I am a wolf! I am blacker than a moonless night. My eyes glow

  • Blood Moon   Drugged Alpha

“Sugar?”“Who fucking else, Frank. I am here. I am me. I am the Blood Moon Alpha. I am yours, and you are mine.” I hear the Elders snarl behind me and feel one step forward. Fucking cowards. The Elder says, “Step back, girl. This is sacred.”“Girl is the wrong word for me. This isn’t fucking sacred. It isn’t even part of werewolf lore. You fabricated it all to control because you are too weak to ever be an Alpha. You are pathetic. You are scum. Soon you will die as you have, so many do because they refused to accept your stupid fake laws! It is time this pack knows the truth! You drag any who refuse, and if that doesn’t work, you banish them, not before making them into a white wolf.” I seethe. “I know ALL!” I crack my neck. “You want a vision? I have one for you. Your extinction!”Frank mutters, “If I don’t, they’ll kill…” He grits his teeth. “They’ll kill you. She will be Luna, and they will stop.”Jack screams, “Finish this. Finish this ritual.”“Frank, don’t you dare listen to t

  • Blood Moon   Fight

He has been drugged. His eyes are glassy as a hand hovers over her, but I notice one is clenched at his side. He’s trying to fight it. He’s trying to keep control. Then one of the Elders lifts a cup to his mouth. There’s something thick and dark inside. More wormwood? Or poison? I look at Cane. “You brought me here knowing this would happen?” I growl. “Did you think it would make me choose you?” I snarl. “I heard Frank say something about what the Elders were planning. I know he doesn’t want this. These fucking poor excuses for wolves need to die!”Cane lets out a breath. “I know better. I can’t force you to do anything. I would and have never tried to manipulate you.” I scan his face as my anger begins to boil over like an unwatched pot. “Honest, I didn’t know it would happen now.”“I call bullshit!”He holds his hands up in surrender. He doesn’t move. “I swear. I overheard that something was happening tonight. But I didn’t know about this.”I shake my head. “You knew something. You

  • Blood Moon   Connections

“Sugar?”“Yes, where are you? Frank, talk to me, please.”Oh, my god! Frank answered me! I have to know what is going on. I have to save him as he has saved me. I step off the porch. I close my eyes and try to focus. I don’t want to lose the connection now that I have reestablished it. I know that he sent Eva to find me. But will she? I know that she doesn’t hate me, as I believed her when she visited me at my old home. But what if she can’t?I can’t sit still and wait. I am trying to put my shoes on when Cane appears behind me. “You’re leaving?” he asks tentatively. “I must go back. Frank is in grave danger.” His eyes, once so full of blue flames, now glow a faint silver. He walks toward me. “Don’t try to stop me. I have to do this.”He shakes his head. “I wasn’t going to.” He reaches out his hand before withdrawing it. “I will escort you because it could be perilous.”I want to tell him no, but he would follow anyway, like he has since I got to Darkness Falls. “Fine, let’s go.” He

  • Blood Moon   Contrasting Alphas

He exhales as he rubs the back of his neck. “Fine, no secrets or lies. Yes, I looked a lot. Are you happy now?” He bites his lip. “Maybe I am sorry that I did.”“Then let me help.” My towel slips and I adjust it. He looks away. I hold in a giggle. There is just something so sweetly ironic about this. He is a huge man and one intimidating wolf, but he turns to gomush around me. “Thanks for the tea even if I just get to smell it.”“I can make a different kind if you still want some tea,” he offers. He leaves the bathroom and I put on the shirt. Night comes and we settle in. The crackling fireplace is the only sound in the room. I am sitting with my legs under me wrapped in a blanket when Cane enters with some tea. I look at him with a smile. “You’re very persistent.”He hands me the mug. My skin prickles at the contact. “I put a bt of wolfsmint in this.”“What is that? It had better not be like wormwood.”“It isn’t. It is a real herb. Try it.”I take a sip and it is amazing. “But what

  • Blood Moon   Talk to Me

“Honestly, I don’t know. I just want to not feel like this.”Cane nods. “Understood. Just focus on yourself right now. Just sit back.” I sip the tea as he leaves the room. I hear the sound of rushing water coming from the bathroom. When he returns, he is holding a faded towel and and equally faded t-shirt. “It is clean and your bath is ready when you are.” I thank him. He shifts his weight awkwardly as he clears his throat. “I will be out here. If you get dizzy or something, call for me, please.”Why is he getting all shy or whatever this is? It doesn’t matter. I slip into the bathroom. A bit of steam fills the small room. The water is warm, not the perfect temperature, but still very welcomed. I sink into the water. The tightness in my chest starts to lessen. Lavender fills the air. I can finally relax. It feels as if it has been years since I could just be. My eyes drift shut and with it my guard drops and that’s when it hits me. Frank! I remember how everything was the night he fi
