I felt the pull. Something was pulling at my life force and magic. It was taking the magic I had managed to store up.

"What is happening?" I asked Ashria.

"Kristoff is draining us. He is bloodthirsty now. We might have to kill him if we must survive this," Ashria said, struggling with the pull.

"You are killing me, Adam!" I yelled at him, but he was fixated on me and advanced toward me. I saw a dark smoke circle Maria's firewall.

"That is Haimon's magic. He is making sure she does not escape," Ashria tried to tell me, and Kristoff advanced toward us.

"Please, Adam. I do not want to fight you!' I pleaded with him, but he wouldn't listen. He was drooling and growling. He did not care, he felt nothing, and I knew it because his mark burned.

"I am your mate!" I told him.

"We have no mate and no love but for blood and magic, and yours feels delicious!" he replied, and my eyes widened. I sent sun magic his way, and he dodged it. I was exhausted, but I had to fight to get away
