Chapter three

  (Bianca POV)

After I was able to write down a good amount of material to do the report of Poseidon that it was time to go back to school. Going back to the bus I see Hunter waiting for me keeping a seat for me next to him.

“Hunter, were you able to collect information?”

He lifts his note back showing me that it was full of handwritten notes, that were put into perfect categories. It made my notes look very slopy.

“How about you, beautiful?”

“I have a lot to look into tonight, but there are still somethings I’m going to need to research tonight that I’m confused about.”

“Like?”

“The story about Poseidon and Medusa. There are two different versions of the story as one tells that he forces himself onto her and the other is that they both had a love affair. So, which one it the true story?”

“Well, sadly that is a question I don’t believe anyone will be able to answer unless you were there. The translation of the Latin word, vitiasse, can mean defiled, sexually violated, or damaged. It doesn’t necessarily mean rape, but it can be. So, unless you either live back then or talk to Poseidon or even Medusa that sadly you’ll never really know. If I, were you that is something you should write in your essay.”

“Thanks Hunter, you’re the best.”

“Only for you beautiful.”

After getting home that I went straight to my laptop to work on my essay before my father gets home. As I was getting really into my essay that I hear two males talking outside, and I can tell one of the males was my father but the other I had never heard before. I sneak downstairs hoping to get closer to hear what they are talking about but not letting them know that I was listening in.

“So, what did the doctors have to say about your test results?”

“Not really good Tris, and they’re not sure just how much more time I have. They believe that I form lung cancer when I was expose to that Radon gas that was in the basement when I first bought the restaurant.”

“Then you know what you’re going to need to do Alex.”

“No, not yet. Bianca will be turning 18 in one year, and I know I’ll be able to hold on till then.”

“Are you going to tell her this, because I will tell her myself if you don’t.”

“No, I need more time, Tris. I need to hold on a little longer till she can protect herself without me.”

“Alright, but I still think your being stupid about this. You’re playing a deadly game with your life patéras(father), and I hope you know what you’re doing. Well, I need to get going if I’m going to get the fish your restaurant will need.”

“Alright, I need to go inside to make dinner for Bianca and I.”

I hurry to my room before he sees me as he walks into the house, and as I make it to the stairs that I hear the sliding doors open up. Before I could get upstairs, I hear someone clearing their throats behind me.

“Bianca, what are you doing?”

“Oh, I was coming downstairs for something to drink but I had to go back up because I forget to turn my laptop off. I know how much you hate me leaving it on to long alone.”

“Alright, I’m going to make some lemon pepper parmesan tilapia for dinner tonight. It should be done within forty minutes, so finish up on your work on your laptop and come back down for dinner.”

“Alright daddy.”

As I was running up the steps the thought of did, he really believes what I just told him, and what am I going to do now knowing just how sick he is. I lay on my bed not knowing what I’m going to do. Is there a way that I could save my father? I wish what that guy said about the gods being real was true now. I be able to ask them to help me. I decide to give Cal a call to see what she thinks, but when I called a guy answer the phone and it was Aaron.

“Oh, hey Bianca, sorry but Cal left her phone at my house. Did you want me to tell her that you called.”

“I really just needed to talk to someone right now.”

“Well, I am a someone, so talk to me.”

I told him what I overheard my father and that guy he called Tris about. At first, he was quiet as if he was thinking before saying anything, but I also told him what that guy said about the gods being real, and I wished they were to help me with my father.

“I’m sorry but I’m not sure if the gods exist, but I do know that demons do.”

“Oh, come on Aaron. Demons are real now.”

“Yes, and if your soul is strong enough that you’ll be able to summon one to help cure your father.”

“Ok, and if I say that I believe in what you said. Do you know how to summon one?”

“Yes, my mother has been practicing the dark art since she was six years old. She was taught by my grandma and has some books that I can show you.”

The question now is how far I will go to save my father, and the answer to that is as far as I need to save his life.

“How soon do you believe we can try to summon a demon?”

“What are you doing tomorrow night?”

“Really, that soon?”

“Did you wanted to wait while he gets worse?”

“No, I’ll just tell him that I’m going to your place to get a little more help on my essay. What time do you want me there?”

“If I, were you, I would tell him that you’re spending the night at Cal. You’re going need to be here around midnight. That’ll be the best time to summon one.”

“Alright, even though I hate deceiving my father I will if it will save him.”

“Alright, I’ll text you, my address. See you then.”

I don’t like what I’m going to need to do tomorrow night, but I need to try if to save him. We ate dinner as I just sit there thinking of any way, I’m going to be able to get out of the house without him knowing.

“Bianca, princess, is there something wrong? You’ve been quiet, and I was wondering if something happened today.”

“Sorry daddy, but I have a big essay that I’m working on that’ll be half my grade in class on my mind.”

“Did you need help with it, Princess?”

“No, thank you daddy. I have it all under control.”

“Alright, can you do me a favor and take care of the dishes? I need to take some medication that will help me to sleep, and I’m not sure how my body is going to react to it.”

“Don’t worry about the dishes, I’ll have them all done, and the food put away before I go to bed.”

“Thanks, Princess, I’ll be going to bed now. Don’t stay up to long with that essay. You still need your sleep.”

“Wait, do you think it’ll be alright if I spend the night over Calida house tomorrow night?”

“Well, tomorrow night is a Saturday night, and your always so helpful to me as you behave in school. So, sure Princess, have fun.”

He kisses my forehead as he heads to his room, and I can’t believe my luck. My father didn’t even question why I wanted to stay at her house, but it made me feel bad that he has that much faith in me. I need to keep it in mind that I’m doing this for him. The next day goes by fast pretty fast, and I hurry up to pack my clothes to keep up appearance that I’ll sleep over Calida place, but it would have been nice to spend the time with Hunter. It won’t take me too long if I took my mod pad to his place, and hopefully get the help that I’m going to need for my father.

When I finally get to his place that I was shocked to see his home was very normal, even though he was a total goth. He lived by a lake in a two-story house that was a nice shade of green, and again normal.

“Hey, Bianca, are you looking for me?”

I turned to see that Aaron was on the side of the house leaning against the fence.

“Come on, I need to show you something.”

I followed him as he shows me something that looked like a large shed, but inside was who Aaron is. So, goth in ever way a person can think of. Black future, large black skull with a glass tabletop, bookshelf’s that looked like coffins, and Blood Red Pentagram in the middle of the room.

“Is this what I think it is?”

“Well, yeah, the way you’re going to summoning your demon tonight. By the way, here is the book you’re going to need for the ritual.”

The book was an old leather book, that I was almost afraid to touch it. As he hands the book to me that I looked through it to see so many odd writings of things that just made no sense to me. Before I knew it that Aaron turns the pages to show me a page with a Pentagram on it with more handwriting.

“This is what you need to study for tonight. This page right here holds what you’re going to need to summon the demon you’ll need. It will show step by step what you’re going to need to do.”

“So, I do this, and a demon will show up.”

“It’s not that easy, Bianca. It might even take more than one session to be able to get that demon to appear.”

“Well, what about this part where I add my blood to the ritual?”

“Yeah, doing that will guaranteed to get you a demon, but hell no. Sadly, after where it shows what will happen is faded away, and I can’t predict what you’ll get. What I’m trying to say Bianca, adding your blood will be dangerous and unpredictable. So, please don’t do it.”

“Alright, Aaron, it just I can’t waste my time summoning over and over again to try to get what a lesser demon.”

“You don’t even know what demon you’ll bring with your blood, and any lesser demon will be more than able to help your father. You don’t want to mess with the higher demons, Bianca. So, please promise, don’t mix your blood into this.”

“Alright, alright Aaron. I won’t, promise.”

“Good, lets take a look to see what you’ll need for it.”

I know I said I wouldn’t, but if it’ll be a guarantee me the demon I need then how can I not.
