LOGINMy eyes turned back ro Cylus. My face turning angry.
"Don't start Jayla, it's just for a few weeks."
"A few weeks? why the fuck should I move for that bitch?" I didn't see it coming until it was to late.
My head whipped to the side, my cheek burning. I slowly turned my head back and just as I did I saw a small quick smile appear on Janet's face. It dissappeared just as quick as it came. I could taste the metallick liquid in my mouth. I smirked at him then stepped past him. Janet poked her head out from behind Jake's back. I clenched my fist and full on punched the bitch in her face.
She screamed as she flew backwards. A rush past me, it was Cylus. He pushed past me as I stumbled to the side. I felt arms around me and when I looked up I saw my uncle holding me.
"You ok?"
I nodded and stood back up brushing my clothes down. Then I just stared at the three of them. Cylus quickly stood up after examing Janet. In two strides he was standing over me. His teeth was clenched together so was his fists. I didn't say nothing to him but I wouldn't lower my eyes.
"You happy now? did it feel so good to hit someone who is so frail?"
I scoffed at what he said.
"Well maybe you need to wrap her in cotton wool if she's so delicate and frail. Or maybe keep her in a padded room."
"JAYLA." he roared at me.
I turned and walked away.
"Don't you walk away from me Jayla." I was just about to say something when a weak soft voice spoke.
"Cylus please don't fight with the Luna, I will leave, it's all my fault."
Cylus ran back to her and craddled her in his arms.
I stood there and watched the drama queen score 10/10 for acting and the two biggest simps lapping it up.
Each breath that I took just made me realise that this right here was never going to change. I turned to my aunt. I heard a door slam behind me. They had left. Aunty rushed to me and wrapped her arms around me tightly. My head rested on her shoulder but I didn't cry. Uncle Mathew's phone rang, he picked up the call and went in the direction of his study. Aunty let me go and took my hand. We walked into the kitchen and she sat me on a bar stool. She turned and went to put the kettle on. She took two small plates from the cupboard and sliced us both a big piece of chocolate cake.
My eyes widened and my mouth instantly watered.
"Isn't is a little early to be eating this?"
She smiled a cheeky smile and pushed a plate infront of me. It was the biggest slice. I licked my lips as the smell of chocolate hit my nose. I took up my fork and sliced a piece. It melted in my mouth. The flavour alone was enough to cast out the shit morning I had to endure. As I put the last slice into my mouth my uncle walked into the kitchen. He sat down on the bar stool next to me. I placed the fork onto the plate and looked at him.
"Kid, I have a plan. Let's talk."
Aunty poured us all a glass of water and she sat down opposite us.
Uncle Mathew took a deep breath. He took my hand and looked at me.
"Jayla, you need to move to the cottage at the of the border. Don't worry i'll make sure Alpha puts extra patrol there. In three days I will come get you with your aunt. We will say she is taking you shopping. You don't need to take any clothes when I come get you. Your grandfather will arrange a driver to meet us at the edge of town and you will then go with the driver to your grandfathers home."
I sat there for a few minutes and took in everything that he just said.
"Jayla don't worry, just keep to the plan and it will all go well. In the mean time go back home pack what you need and move to the cottage. Your aunt will come by later today and check on you."
I nodded. "OK."
I stood and walked to aunty and gave her a hug. They both walked me to the door to see me off. As I walked home. I felt a little relief, the weight I had been carrying seemed to be lighter. As I opened the pack house doors, an Omega walked up to me.
"Luna, Alpha said once your packed to give you these keys. He said he will check on you later." I gave her a small smile and held out my hand.
Once I had the keys I walked upstairs and started packing a few things. I noticed a few suitcases in the corner of the bedroom. They screamed Janet at me. So he was moving her into our room.
Once I packed what i could I took my case and headed downstairs. Outside was a pack warrior, he was standing beside a truck. He walked over.
"Luna, Alpha told me to take you to the cottage. Please get in."
I was just about to open the door when i heard whispers and people sniggering. I didn't look at them. I got in and waited for the warrior to drive. As the truck drove further away from the main pack house everything became quiet. No children playing, Not many people around. The forest seemed quiet. By the time we reached the cottage no one was around. The place seemed to be the only one here. He definately wanted me away from everyone.
The warrior stopped the car and got out. He lifted my case and left it on the road. I got out and he drove away. I was alone. I mean truly alone. Not a single voice could be heard. I checked my mobile phone coverage, only two bars. That sucked. This place was definately far from any other house, shop or person. I sighed deeply, picked up my case and walked threw the white picket gate. I stood there and looked up at the place. It was small but it gave a feeling of welcome.
I laid upon the table and lifted my shirt. The doctor squeezed cold gel onto my stomach and placed the wand. the picture on tve monitor screen lit up and suddenly a heart beat sounded. Steady and sounded strong. The picture cleared slightly and a form appeared on the screen. A small blob right in the middle. I could see the heart beating. A tear escaped my eye and I smiled. My pup. "Jayla, our pup." Azelea whispered. Her tail wagging. Azelea was calm. Her head rested on her front paws. Her tail swishing from side to side. "Our pup." she whispered in contentment. " Well it all looks good Jayla. Any questions?" "Uh, no I don't think so Doctor." "Right then let's check your blood pressure next and draw some blood, then I will sort your pre vitamins out for you." "OK thank you." "Here can you wipe that yourself?" as she handed me some tissue. I took the tissue and wiped the gel from my stomach. I sat up and slid off the bed and sorted myself out. I walked over to her desk and sa
I woke to the smell of bacon wafting past my nose. My nose twitched as my mouth watered. I scrambled out of bed just as my stomach started moaning. I quickly washed and put clean clothes on. I rushed downstairs and saw grandad sitting at the dining table. A plate of bacon and eggs, tomatoes and sausages were next to a mug of coffee. I quickly sat down and automatically my stomach grumbled again. A laugh came from grandpa as I picked up my knife and fork. He reached over and placed a piece of toast onto my plate. We ate in silence till we both finished eating. I was full. "What are you planning to do thus morning kiddo?" "I was thinking of taking a walk around the place, you know explore a little." "OK, but don't wander into the forest out back ok." I nodded and started drinking my coffee. Grandpa got up and put his finished mug in the sink, he walked to the door pulled his boots on and left. I stood up and walked outside. Just outside of the main door was a small table and
The car drove forward up a windy road. I looked ahead and saw what looked like a farmhouse. So this is my granddads home. I could imagine my mom growing up he, playing outside on the lush green garden. The car pulled up outside the steps of the farmhouse. I looked out of the window and saw an elderly man propped up against the door frame with his arms crossed. Femi opened the door for me and I got out of the car. I stood there and stared at the man. No words just silence. I saw him clench his fists tightly and took one step then stopped. Was he nervous? or was he angry? I wanted to look away but I couldn't, the aura that came from him was powerful. He took another step, then another until he stood infronf of me. My neck craned to look at him. He was tall, very very tall. He must of stood at least 6ft 8 and against my frame of 5ft 2 he was a giant. Cold sweat started forming on my forehead. Suddenly his arms lunged at me, my eyes closed tightly as I braced myself. Then I wad pulle
As the car sped down the road, my heart was still thumping. A pressure came then went in my head. I was starting to get anxious. Aunty turned to look at me. "Now Jayla, don't call when you get there. Mathew and I have already discussed what to say to the Alpha if he askes us and he will. Once you sever all ties he will send warriors out to find you. Do not worry about us." She reached her hand out to me and i took it. She squeezed my hand. "Make sure you live well honey, and if I can come see you I will." I felt my eyes sting a little, but I knew I couldn't go soft now. I am so close to leaving all this behind. But I will never forget the warmly home that surrounded me growing up with them. I loved them both so much, they were the best step parents anyone could ask for. I sat back and watched everything go by. I suddenly felt the car slow up. I looked to the front and saw a black car parked on the side of the road. As we approached it I noticed that the car windows were b
After about an hour the pressure resided, but it left my head throbbing. By eight oclock that evening a car had pulled up outside of the cottage, the head lights beaming on full that shone through the lounge window. I watched from the window as Jake got out of the car and walked up to the door. He knocked, I didn't answer. He knocked again, I still didn't answer. Then the front door opened and he walked right in. He looked around until his eyes found me. "Why are you not ready?""I told you I'm not going.""But Alpha said you had to come."I stood there glaring at him. "Leave Jake, I'm not going. I have no reason to go so I'm staying here. Besides i'm tired."Jake didn't know what to do. I noticed his eyes glaze over obviously mind linking Cylus. He looked at me. "Then rest well." that was all he said. He walked out leaving the door open, got in the car and left. I watched the car drive off before I closed the door. The car lights growing smaller the further it went. I closed th
I walked to to the door and reached my hand to open the door. Inside it was clean. Someone had put a small bunch of flowers on the table. I walked around the place to see where everything was. It was small but cute. For a cottage so far out it was really maintained. It was clean and tidy. There were fresh bed linen on the bed. It was light and airy. I was slightly surprised for a cottage so far away and on the edge of the border the sun light streamed through the windows. I walked to the kitchen and looked through the cupboards. I opened the fridge and was surprised it was stocked. I put the kettle on to make a camamile tea. My body was exhausted, with everything over the past few months everything seemed lighter now. Then my thoughts went to the man named grandad. I don't even remember him. I can't even recall my parents ever taking me to see him. Where exactly did he live? My shoulders lifted and I held my head up. At least I would be away from theses idiots. After my tea was made
