I walked to to the door and reached my hand to open the door. Inside it was clean. Someone had put a small bunch of flowers on the table. I walked around the place to see where everything was. It was small but cute. For a cottage so far out it was really maintained. It was clean and tidy. There were fresh bed linen on the bed. It was light and airy. I was slightly surprised for a cottage so far away and on the edge of the border the sun light streamed through the windows.

I walked to the kitchen and looked through the cupboards. I opened the fridge and was surprised it was stocked. I put the kettle on to make a camamile tea. My body was exhausted, with everything over the past few months everything seemed lighter now. Then my thoughts went to the man named grandad. I don't even remember him. I can't even recall my parents ever taking me to see him. Where exactly did he live? My shoulders lifted and I held my head up. At least I would be away from theses idiots.

After my tea was made, I went and sat out on the white bench that was in the front garden. The sunlight was streaming through the trees. Birds were chirping, in the distance I could hear wolves howling. I heard a sound it was like running water. I got up and walked around the back of the cottage. There was a stream running right behind the cottage. On the other side the forest narrowed and I could see some green fields in the distance.

The winds breeze blew gently across the bushes and shrubs. Leaves were moving gently and I saw deer in the distance. I walked around to the front. Here didn't seem so bad. I found it was quite lovely here. But being deep in the forest on the edge of the border cut off from everyone was going to be lonely. At least in three days I would be leaving. I was infact looking forward to it. Somewhere new me and my baby. At least no one would bother us. I sat there drinking my tea, I noticed the flowers bordered in the front garden. I seemed to of relaxed a little.

That evening it turned darker quicker, the moon rose high in the sky and it was so bright. The night sky was clear no clouds. The stars were out in the thousands. At around eleven oclock I locked up and went to my room. I left the curtains open a bit just to leave a little moonlight peak through. My thoughts went to Cylus as normal he didn't come to see me as he said he would. It didn't surprise me in the least. I closed my eyes and settled down to sleep.

Morning came surprisingly fast. The sun beamed through the ajar curtains. I took a deep breath and pulled back the covers. I walked out to the kitchen and opened the window. The sound of the stream was relaxing. I made a lemon tea and walked out to the front and sat down on the bench. I have to say it was so relaxing and quiet.

I was taking in the morning sun when a vehicle approached and stopped by the fence. The door opened and Jake stepped out. He adjusted his suit and walked over. I never spoke to him.

"Jayla."

I looked at him but kept silent. He stood there waiting for some sort of reaction but it never came. He stepped forward. He handed a black card to me. I never took it. His hand holding it in mid air. He coughed lightly the awkwardness between us.

"Jayla, Alpha said he apologised for not coming last night, he said he wants you to go buy yourself something nice. There is a party tonight and the Alpha wants you to attend."

"A party? for who?"

"It's for Janet." I didn't fail to notice his fist clenching at his side.

I put my cup down and stood up and looked him straight in the eye. There is no reason for me to go. Take the card back. I don't want no part of it.

I turned and walked back inside leaving him standing there. Jake stood there not knowing what to say. After a few minutes he turned, got in the car and left. Why did he send Jake? why didn't he come himself? I walked to the book shelf, took a book and settled down to read.

That evening I cooked myself some food. I sat at the tiny dining table next to the kitchen window. The sun was starting to set and the night life started to stir. I sat in the lounge reading after I had eaten. I was disturbed when there was a knock on the door. I put my book down and opened the door. My aunty was standing there holding a basket full of goodies. Aunty came in and sat down. We talked for a while before she left to go home.

It was getting late, so I decided to take a shower and head to bed. The following morning came and it was another beautiful sunny day. Today I decided to take a walk, I didn't want to be cooped up in the cottage for the next 2 days. I walked along the path and came across a meadow with herbs planted around. But the patch of Lavender over in the next small meadow was amazing. I picked some and took them home.

The rest of the day passed by slowly. I felt pressure inside my head. I knew it was Cylus trying to mind link but no way was I going to lower it. I didn't want to talk to him, I didn't want anything to do with him period. I ignored it but as the minutes passed by the fore was getting a little intense.

I laid upon the table and lifted my shirt. The doctor squeezed cold gel onto my stomach and placed the wand. the picture on tve monitor screen lit up and suddenly a heart beat sounded. Steady and sounded strong. The picture cleared slightly and a form appeared on the screen. A small blob right in the middle. I could see the heart beating. A tear escaped my eye and I smiled. My pup. "Jayla, our pup." Azelea whispered. Her tail wagging. Azelea was calm. Her head rested on her front paws. Her tail swishing from side to side. "Our pup." she whispered in contentment. " Well it all looks good Jayla. Any questions?" "Uh, no I don't think so Doctor." "Right then let's check your blood pressure next and draw some blood, then I will sort your pre vitamins out for you." "OK thank you." "Here can you wipe that yourself?" as she handed me some tissue. I took the tissue and wiped the gel from my stomach. I sat up and slid off the bed and sorted myself out. I walked over to her desk and sa

  • Blue Moon Ranch    Exploring the Ranch

I woke to the smell of bacon wafting past my nose. My nose twitched as my mouth watered. I scrambled out of bed just as my stomach started moaning. I quickly washed and put clean clothes on. I rushed downstairs and saw grandad sitting at the dining table. A plate of bacon and eggs, tomatoes and sausages were next to a mug of coffee. I quickly sat down and automatically my stomach grumbled again. A laugh came from grandpa as I picked up my knife and fork. He reached over and placed a piece of toast onto my plate. We ate in silence till we both finished eating. I was full. "What are you planning to do thus morning kiddo?" "I was thinking of taking a walk around the place, you know explore a little." "OK, but don't wander into the forest out back ok." I nodded and started drinking my coffee. Grandpa got up and put his finished mug in the sink, he walked to the door pulled his boots on and left. I stood up and walked outside. Just outside of the main door was a small table and

  • Blue Moon Ranch    Meeting Grandpa

The car drove forward up a windy road. I looked ahead and saw what looked like a farmhouse. So this is my granddads home. I could imagine my mom growing up he, playing outside on the lush green garden. The car pulled up outside the steps of the farmhouse. I looked out of the window and saw an elderly man propped up against the door frame with his arms crossed. Femi opened the door for me and I got out of the car. I stood there and stared at the man. No words just silence. I saw him clench his fists tightly and took one step then stopped. Was he nervous? or was he angry? I wanted to look away but I couldn't, the aura that came from him was powerful. He took another step, then another until he stood infronf of me. My neck craned to look at him. He was tall, very very tall. He must of stood at least 6ft 8 and against my frame of 5ft 2 he was a giant. Cold sweat started forming on my forehead. Suddenly his arms lunged at me, my eyes closed tightly as I braced myself. Then I wad pulle

As the car sped down the road, my heart was still thumping. A pressure came then went in my head. I was starting to get anxious. Aunty turned to look at me. "Now Jayla, don't call when you get there. Mathew and I have already discussed what to say to the Alpha if he askes us and he will. Once you sever all ties he will send warriors out to find you. Do not worry about us." She reached her hand out to me and i took it. She squeezed my hand. "Make sure you live well honey, and if I can come see you I will." I felt my eyes sting a little, but I knew I couldn't go soft now. I am so close to leaving all this behind. But I will never forget the warmly home that surrounded me growing up with them. I loved them both so much, they were the best step parents anyone could ask for. I sat back and watched everything go by. I suddenly felt the car slow up. I looked to the front and saw a black car parked on the side of the road. As we approached it I noticed that the car windows were b

After about an hour the pressure resided, but it left my head throbbing. By eight oclock that evening a car had pulled up outside of the cottage, the head lights beaming on full that shone through the lounge window. I watched from the window as Jake got out of the car and walked up to the door. He knocked, I didn't answer. He knocked again, I still didn't answer. Then the front door opened and he walked right in. He looked around until his eyes found me. "Why are you not ready?""I told you I'm not going.""But Alpha said you had to come."I stood there glaring at him. "Leave Jake, I'm not going. I have no reason to go so I'm staying here. Besides i'm tired."Jake didn't know what to do. I noticed his eyes glaze over obviously mind linking Cylus. He looked at me. "Then rest well." that was all he said. He walked out leaving the door open, got in the car and left. I watched the car drive off before I closed the door. The car lights growing smaller the further it went. I closed th
