LOGINAs the car sped down the road, my heart was still thumping. A pressure came then went in my head. I was starting to get anxious. Aunty turned to look at me.
"Now Jayla, don't call when you get there. Mathew and I have already discussed what to say to the Alpha if he askes us and he will. Once you sever all ties he will send warriors out to find you. Do not worry about us." She reached her hand out to me and i took it. She squeezed my hand. "Make sure you live well honey, and if I can come see you I will." I felt my eyes sting a little, but I knew I couldn't go soft now. I am so close to leaving all this behind. But I will never forget the warmly home that surrounded me growing up with them. I loved them both so much, they were the best step parents anyone could ask for. I sat back and watched everything go by. I suddenly felt the car slow up. I looked to the front and saw a black car parked on the side of the road. As we approached it I noticed that the car windows were blacked out. As our car parked up behind it a very tall man stepped out. He must of been 6ft 5 tall. Against me I would look like a midget to my 5ft. He looked intimidating so I still sat in our car. My uncle came and opened the door. "Jayla, let's go. Quickly now." He took my case from the boot and handed it to the other driver. I got out and felt the edge of our border. I hugged my uncle and aunt before getting into the black car. As we pulled off I looked at the driver. "Sir, may we stop I need to reject my mate." He turned his head as he stopped the car. I couldn't make out what he was thinking. But I stepped out. I stood beside the car, one foot over the border one foot left inside. I took a deep breath and lowered the block then spoke. "I Jayla Luna of the Blood Moon Pack, here by reject the pack and everything that goes with it. I reject the Luna title and responsibilties." I suddenly felt something break and everything went silent. I immediately continued. "I Jayla Grayson reject Cylus Blackford as my husband and mate." Something broke as a pain tore threw my chest. The pain brought me to my knees. My mind went blank, I heard nothing in my mind. Azelea was still there but a little weak. I pulled myself up and got myself back into the car. The driver handed me a bottle of water then started driving again. The ache in my chest stayed there. It made me uncomfortable but I knew I had to do it. "Azelea, Is our pup safe?" "Our pup is fine Jayla, I protected it that's why I'm so weak." "That's good, just rest." My hand went straight to my stomach. As the car carried on I sat back into the seat and rested. Relief washed over me, it was over and my pup was safe. I didn't know how far we had to go or how long it would be to get there. As time went by I watcved the many sceneries past by in a flash. The drive was smooth and somewhere along the journey I fell asleep. I woke to a voice calling my name. "Miss, miss were stopping." I slowly opened my eyes and saw the driver looking at me. "Miss were stopping. Do you need anything?" "Oh right, uh yes I'll come with you. The driver got out and walked aroubd the car and opened up the back door. I stepped out and saw we were parked outside of a cafe. The driver locked the car and walked beside me. When we entered the cafe the driver asked me if I wanted anything to drink. My mouth immediately salved. "A coffee please." I gave him a smile. He walked to the counter and placed our order. We waited and I looked around the place. It was half decent. I saw a old woman sitting in one of the chairs by the window. She was gazing out the window before she turned her head and smiled at me. The driver handed me my coffee and we both walked back to the car. He looked at me. "Miss, my name is Femi." "Femi?" "Yes Miss." I gave him a nod in acknowledgement before he opened the car door and I sat inside. Once I sat comfortable he closed the door and walked around to the driver's side. He placed his drink in the cup holder and started the car and drove off. I looked out of the window and watched the trees go by. I felt calm like a weight had been lifted. But still on the back of my mind I knew Cylus wouldn't let it end there. I knew that if he ever found out about the baby he would apply to the elder council and have me forcibly moved back to the pack. If that ever happened my life would be over. As the day was drawing into dusk, I noticed the car vear left. We drove along a long dusty dirt road it seemed to go on for miles. The mountains started coming closer and the view became breath taking. My eyes widened and my mouth agaped. I held my breath as in the distance I could see a waterfall cascading down the side of one of the mountains. I turned in my seat and saw deer in a field in the distance. I had no words to describe how beautiful this place was. The dirt lane came to an end and big cast iron gates stood closed infront of us. As the car approached them they automatically opened to let us threw.I laid upon the table and lifted my shirt. The doctor squeezed cold gel onto my stomach and placed the wand. the picture on tve monitor screen lit up and suddenly a heart beat sounded. Steady and sounded strong. The picture cleared slightly and a form appeared on the screen. A small blob right in the middle. I could see the heart beating. A tear escaped my eye and I smiled. My pup. "Jayla, our pup." Azelea whispered. Her tail wagging. Azelea was calm. Her head rested on her front paws. Her tail swishing from side to side. "Our pup." she whispered in contentment. " Well it all looks good Jayla. Any questions?" "Uh, no I don't think so Doctor." "Right then let's check your blood pressure next and draw some blood, then I will sort your pre vitamins out for you." "OK thank you." "Here can you wipe that yourself?" as she handed me some tissue. I took the tissue and wiped the gel from my stomach. I sat up and slid off the bed and sorted myself out. I walked over to her desk and sa
I woke to the smell of bacon wafting past my nose. My nose twitched as my mouth watered. I scrambled out of bed just as my stomach started moaning. I quickly washed and put clean clothes on. I rushed downstairs and saw grandad sitting at the dining table. A plate of bacon and eggs, tomatoes and sausages were next to a mug of coffee. I quickly sat down and automatically my stomach grumbled again. A laugh came from grandpa as I picked up my knife and fork. He reached over and placed a piece of toast onto my plate. We ate in silence till we both finished eating. I was full. "What are you planning to do thus morning kiddo?" "I was thinking of taking a walk around the place, you know explore a little." "OK, but don't wander into the forest out back ok." I nodded and started drinking my coffee. Grandpa got up and put his finished mug in the sink, he walked to the door pulled his boots on and left. I stood up and walked outside. Just outside of the main door was a small table and
The car drove forward up a windy road. I looked ahead and saw what looked like a farmhouse. So this is my granddads home. I could imagine my mom growing up he, playing outside on the lush green garden. The car pulled up outside the steps of the farmhouse. I looked out of the window and saw an elderly man propped up against the door frame with his arms crossed. Femi opened the door for me and I got out of the car. I stood there and stared at the man. No words just silence. I saw him clench his fists tightly and took one step then stopped. Was he nervous? or was he angry? I wanted to look away but I couldn't, the aura that came from him was powerful. He took another step, then another until he stood infronf of me. My neck craned to look at him. He was tall, very very tall. He must of stood at least 6ft 8 and against my frame of 5ft 2 he was a giant. Cold sweat started forming on my forehead. Suddenly his arms lunged at me, my eyes closed tightly as I braced myself. Then I wad pulle

After about an hour the pressure resided, but it left my head throbbing. By eight oclock that evening a car had pulled up outside of the cottage, the head lights beaming on full that shone through the lounge window. I watched from the window as Jake got out of the car and walked up to the door. He knocked, I didn't answer. He knocked again, I still didn't answer. Then the front door opened and he walked right in. He looked around until his eyes found me. "Why are you not ready?""I told you I'm not going.""But Alpha said you had to come."I stood there glaring at him. "Leave Jake, I'm not going. I have no reason to go so I'm staying here. Besides i'm tired."Jake didn't know what to do. I noticed his eyes glaze over obviously mind linking Cylus. He looked at me. "Then rest well." that was all he said. He walked out leaving the door open, got in the car and left. I watched the car drive off before I closed the door. The car lights growing smaller the further it went. I closed th
I walked to to the door and reached my hand to open the door. Inside it was clean. Someone had put a small bunch of flowers on the table. I walked around the place to see where everything was. It was small but cute. For a cottage so far out it was really maintained. It was clean and tidy. There were fresh bed linen on the bed. It was light and airy. I was slightly surprised for a cottage so far away and on the edge of the border the sun light streamed through the windows. I walked to the kitchen and looked through the cupboards. I opened the fridge and was surprised it was stocked. I put the kettle on to make a camamile tea. My body was exhausted, with everything over the past few months everything seemed lighter now. Then my thoughts went to the man named grandad. I don't even remember him. I can't even recall my parents ever taking me to see him. Where exactly did he live? My shoulders lifted and I held my head up. At least I would be away from theses idiots. After my tea was made
