After about an hour the pressure resided, but it left my head throbbing. By eight oclock that evening a car had pulled up outside of the cottage, the head lights beaming on full that shone through the lounge window.  I watched from the window as Jake got out of the car and walked up to the door. He knocked, I didn't answer. He knocked again, I still didn't answer.

Then the front door opened and he walked right in. He looked around until his eyes found me.

"Why are you not ready?"

"I told you I'm not going."

"But Alpha said you had to come."

I stood there glaring at him.

"Leave Jake, I'm not going. I have no reason to go so I'm staying here. Besides i'm tired."

Jake didn't know what to do. I noticed his eyes glaze over obviously mind linking Cylus. He looked at me.

"Then rest well." that was all he said. He walked out leaving the door open, got in the car and left.

I watched the car drive off before I closed the door. The car lights growing smaller the further it went. I closed the door and sat back down. But my stomach had a strange feeling inside. It actually made me uneasy. But I pushed it down and got ready to take my shower.

As I stood under the shower my mind suddenly woke, tomorrow, tomorrow I would be leaving. Finally I would be leaving everything behind. I decided that once I crossed the border I would sever all ties to the pack and I would reject Cylus. I know it would hurt but it has to done. I need to make this a clean break. I needed to make this clean so me and my baby wouldn't be tied to any of this. Once it was done Cylus could never sense us. In fact i'm surprised that he couldn't sense the baby.

"Sense the baby?" Azelea spoke.

"He wouldn't sense our pup, he's to busy with her."

I agreed, he hasn't given me the time of day since she's got here. Even worse over the past couple of months. I felt lighter knowing this was my last night here.

That night I laid in bed wandering about the sort of place my grandfather lived in. Would it be a cramped appartment? or is it a house? Is his health good? or was he sick? Uncle Mathew never told me anything more about him. I didn't know anything. But tomorrow was the day. I closed my eyes and settled down to sleep.

I was woken half way through the night hearing wolves howl. But they seemed closer than the day before. I got up and peared through the window looking to see if I could see anything. I was startled back and jumped a little when something ran by my window. My heart thumped in my chest. I looked out again and saw things moving around outside.

I stepped back and walked around the cottage double checking the windows and doors to make sure they were all locked. A sound came from the front of the cottage. Obviously wolves were running around outside. I grabbed a blanket from the closet and walked to the sofa and sat down wrapping the blanket around me. The rustling outside didn't stop. I could hear them next to the door. I heard a couple of wolves howling right outside.

By the time morning came I was tired. I didn't sleep all night. But I was so relieved today I would be leaving and never coming back. I got up and folded the blanket, I made myself some breakfast and took a shower. I started to pack the few clothes I had into the suitcase and placed the case behind the front door. I waited for my uncle and aunt to come and take me out of here.

My phone rang and I answered the call.

"Jayla, come see me in my office this afternoon. Make sure it is before two oclock, I have to take Janet to her appointment and we can't be late."

That was all he said before he ended the call. I didn't say one word. I called my aunts phone. It only rang three times when she answered.

"Hello Jayla."

"Aunty, We need to move, Cylus called just now he wants me in his office before two this afternoon."

"Ok. ok don't panic. Let me call Mathew, I will call you back."

I nodded only then realising she couldn't see me

"O..Ok." the call ended.

I walked to the kitchen and poured myself some water. My heart was racing. I needed to get out of here. The fear on why he wanted to see me. I couldn't risk going there incase he locked me up. Or even worse thrown in the dungeon. Goddess knows what crap Janet has planted in his head this time.

I had just placed my glass down when my phone lit up. It was a message from my aunt telling me they would be here in one hour to get me. I felt the tension lift a little.

That one hour seemed to go so slowly. But when I heard the car approach my heart lifted and skipped a beat. I ran to the front window and saw my uncle and aunt get out of the car. I opened the door and grabbed my case. Uncle Mathew took it from me and placed it in the boot. Aunty hugged me and put me in the back seat.

We all took a deep breath and the car pulled away. I was finally leaving this place.

"Ok Jayla. We need to move fast. Your grandfather has sent someone to collect you. We will head there now. Do what you need to do sweetheart then don't look back."

Uncle Mathew excelerated faster as we passed the pack gates. Once we had left the relief I felt was unreal. But I still couldn't settle until I had severed all ties.

Steady and sounded strong. The picture cleared slightly and a form appeared on the screen. A small blob right in the middle. I could see the heart beating. A tear escaped my eye and I smiled. My pup. "Jayla, our pup." Azelea whispered. Her tail wagging. Azelea was calm. Her head rested on her front paws. Her tail swishing from side to side. "Our pup." she whispered in contentment. " Well it all looks good Jayla. Any questions?" "Uh, no I don't think so Doctor." "Right then let's check your blood pressure next and draw some blood, then I will sort your pre vitamins out for you." "OK thank you." "Here can you wipe that yourself?" as she handed me some tissue. I took the tissue and wiped the gel from my stomach. I sat up and slid off the bed and sorted myself out. I walked over to her desk and sa

  • Blue Moon Ranch    Exploring the Ranch

I woke to the smell of bacon wafting past my nose. My nose twitched as my mouth watered. I scrambled out of bed just as my stomach started moaning. I quickly washed and put clean clothes on. I rushed downstairs and saw grandad sitting at the dining table. A plate of bacon and eggs, tomatoes and sausages were next to a mug of coffee. I quickly sat down and automatically my stomach grumbled again. A laugh came from grandpa as I picked up my knife and fork. He reached over and placed a piece of toast onto my plate. We ate in silence till we both finished eating. I was full. "What are you planning to do thus morning kiddo?" "I was thinking of taking a walk around the place, you know explore a little." "OK, but don't wander into the forest out back ok." I nodded and started drinking my coffee. Grandpa got up and put his finished mug in the sink, he walked to the door pulled his boots on and left. I stood up and walked outside. Just outside of the main door was a small table and

  • Blue Moon Ranch    Meeting Grandpa

The car drove forward up a windy road. I looked ahead and saw what looked like a farmhouse. So this is my granddads home. I could imagine my mom growing up he, playing outside on the lush green garden. The car pulled up outside the steps of the farmhouse. I looked out of the window and saw an elderly man propped up against the door frame with his arms crossed. Femi opened the door for me and I got out of the car. I stood there and stared at the man. No words just silence. I saw him clench his fists tightly and took one step then stopped. Was he nervous? or was he angry? I wanted to look away but I couldn't, the aura that came from him was powerful. He took another step, then another until he stood infronf of me. My neck craned to look at him. He was tall, very very tall. He must of stood at least 6ft 8 and against my frame of 5ft 2 he was a giant. Cold sweat started forming on my forehead. Suddenly his arms lunged at me, my eyes closed tightly as I braced myself. Then I wad pulle

As the car sped down the road, my heart was still thumping. A pressure came then went in my head. I was starting to get anxious. Aunty turned to look at me. "Now Jayla, don't call when you get there. Mathew and I have already discussed what to say to the Alpha if he askes us and he will. Once you sever all ties he will send warriors out to find you. Do not worry about us." She reached her hand out to me and i took it. She squeezed my hand. "Make sure you live well honey, and if I can come see you I will." I felt my eyes sting a little, but I knew I couldn't go soft now. I am so close to leaving all this behind. But I will never forget the warmly home that surrounded me growing up with them. I loved them both so much, they were the best step parents anyone could ask for. I sat back and watched everything go by. I suddenly felt the car slow up. I looked to the front and saw a black car parked on the side of the road. As we approached it I noticed that the car windows were b

I walked to to the door and reached my hand to open the door. Inside it was clean. Someone had put a small bunch of flowers on the table. I walked around the place to see where everything was. It was small but cute. For a cottage so far out it was really maintained. It was clean and tidy. There were fresh bed linen on the bed. It was light and airy. I was slightly surprised for a cottage so far away and on the edge of the border the sun light streamed through the windows. I walked to the kitchen and looked through the cupboards. I opened the fridge and was surprised it was stocked. I put the kettle on to make a camamile tea. My body was exhausted, with everything over the past few months everything seemed lighter now. Then my thoughts went to the man named grandad. I don't even remember him. I can't even recall my parents ever taking me to see him. Where exactly did he live? My shoulders lifted and I held my head up. At least I would be away from theses idiots. After my tea was made
