Chapter 1: Wolf-less Girl

“Bastard.”

“Wolf-less girl.”

“Rejected buffoon.”

I tried to keep a poker face as I felt papers and garbage being tossed at me.

At least no one brought spoiled milk to school today to throw at me because I hated the smell and it was quite hard to take the smell entirely out of my clothes when I didn’t have soap.

The bell rang, signaling the end of school. I headed out to start trekking home before the seniors were out, because it was the rainy season and they would splash dirty water all over my clothes while they passed with their flashy cars.

I was the most hated person in this pack. None of my parents were around, so I was stuck in the palace with the Alpha where he hit and abused me whenever he felt like it. The main reason I was hated was that I didn’t have a wolf or a mate.

There were rumors that the reason was that I was a bastard, and my wicked father, who was a mafia boss, cheated on his wife with my mother, who was a human and I was born. He died and left me in the pack, which began the torment that I was living which was my life.

I was being treated worse than the Omegas because, in their eyes, I wasn’t a werewolf. I was a product of abomination in the pack. Ever since I turned eighteen, everyone I had been mated to rejected me.

My first mate was the football captain of the school who I’ve had a crush on since I was little. He rejected me in front of the whole school.

I could remember how he spat on me, making sure everyone heard him when he uttered those bitter words that I have not been able to take out of my head.

“To think anyone would ever want you is the highest point of delusion humanity has ever seen,” he had said with bitterness in his tone, and anger in his eyes.

I had cried myself to sleep that night. To make matters worse, he was the boyfriend of the most popular girl in school and the daughter of the Alpha, Blair.

She made my life both in school and at home hell even though it wasn’t my fault that I was mated to him.

When I got home, my legs were already sore and all I wanted to do was rest in my room but I knew better than to do that. I had to clean and wash some of Blair’s clothes even though she had a maid to do that for her.

I headed straight to her room to get some of the clothes I was going to wash, but I found her standing at the entrance of her room. Her face contorted into a frown when she saw me.

“Good afternoon, Blair.” I greeted, my head cast low in respect. “I am here to get some of your clothes for cleaning,” I explained, trying to swerve past her but she stopped me before I could.

“Hey, not so fast wolf-less girl,” Blair cornered me.

My breath constricted, and my heart started to hammer in fear. She didn’t look like she was in a good mood and whenever she was not, she made sure to let all of it out on me.

“What do you want from me, Blair?” I asked, careful with my words so I don’t upset her.

“Daddy is calling you.” She muttered, her hazel eyes glinting.

“Why?”

She gave me a questioning look, which made me mutter an apology. She whirled her heels and headed towards the elevator. I had to use the stairs because I was forbidden from using the elevator.

When I got to the floor of the Alpha, I was already panting. I headed towards Blair and she led me down to the Alpha’s room. There were a lot of thoughts rummaging through my head, because the Alpha had never asked to see me.

The only time I see him is when he wants to hit me. When we got to the room, Blair skipped toward her father and gave him a tight hug. She kissed his cheek before she sat down beside him.

Blair was the only one allowed to do that. Not even the Luna was allowed to sit with the Alpha.

“Good afternoon milord,” I fell to my knees, my voice quivering as I greeted him.

He ignored my greetings, a disgusted look evading his face from the sight of me. Everyone looked at me that way.

“I suppose you told her what is going on,” he turned his neck to face his daughter who had a wicked smirk laced on her lips.

“I wanted you to do the honors, father.” She replied.

“Listen, Marsai. I am going to have some guests today. You are going to be going home with one of them. You are not allowed to train with the wolves so you are basically useless to the pack. I am auctioning you off to the Alphas to get at least one good use out of you. Do you understand?”

My body and hands were physically trembling as his words sank into my head. I knew the Alpha auctioned out Omegas that didn’t have a mate for more than ten years after they reached eighteen, but I had just turned eighteen last week.

“Please, Alpha. Give me some more time. I will find a mate, please.” I begged, even though I knew he wouldn’t change his mind.

He was heartless, especially towards me.

“Why do you think you are ever going to get one?” He scoffed. “You don’t even have a wolf. You are a useless girl and I need to take you out of my pack before you turn into a whore like your mother and go around sleeping with people’s husbands.” He bellowed, his words cutting through my heart like a sword.

I shut my mouth and cast my eyes low as tears started to well in my eyes.

“Give it to her.” The Alpha whispered to his daughter, and she threw a piece of cloth on my face.

I picked it up to see a flimsy and revealing dress that would barely cover half of my body.

“Dress well because if you don’t get bought today, then your life would turn for the worst in this pack. You may leave now.” He dismissed.

I couldn’t imagine my life getting even worse than this. It was already unbearable, so I stood up and headed out of the room.

There was nothing I could do rather than hope to not get bought by someone that would hurt me when they find out that I didn’t have a wolf.
