Chapter 17 | Potential

The walk to the office where Julian Ambrose is waiting is deathly quiet. Adam and Luther walk side by side in front of me and Blade walks beside me, his hand on my lower back as he silently guides me where I need to go.

We go up to the next floor where I’ve been told that Julian lives. We walk into his office and immediately his eyes glue onto me and he gestures to the seat across from him and says, “Please, sit, Raya.”

I do, knowing better than to argue with him, but I notice the way all of his sons frown as if they don’t like me being near him. He tilts his head to the side as he observes me and states, “You look more like a vampire than you did when I first met you.”

He’s not wrong. My complexion is slightly more pale, every day I swear my reflection fades a little more, I am learning how to move quickly, my fangs seem to be growing back.
