It felt like the world had stopped still when he was done talking. I couldn't move, standing frozen and staring at him. Maybe I hadn't heard right.

He shook his head smiling, “You definitely heard right. I just needed to take that off the table before we continued" he finished.

He went to the shelf and picked out two books, coming towards me again with them.

“You need to sit and read this. I'm not sure you'll understand it all well enough without sitting” he led me towards the chair in the room.

I followed behind him, unable to say anything else. So much was happening and somehow I was lost in all of it. I could have asked him what was happening at that moment.
