She watches as he carries Azalea off, grabbing a drink and sitting back down before Alaric walks down the stairs.
“You honestly thought I would hurt her?” She looks at Alaric, waiting.
“I don’t know anymore, Willow. How many times do I have to say that? This could be a plan, like Yasmine all over again only you’re smart as hell and hiding it well.” Alaric shakes his head. “I’m sorry. Even I know that deep down you aren’t like the others. Accepting it and trusting you though, it’s different. There is no one else in this world like you Willow, and I have never heard of anyone like you.”

“Right, so you wanted to talk?” Azalea looks at him, smiling as he nods.“Yes, while I have no issue with you staying here Azalea, right now you being here all the time isn’t such a good idea.” Willow looks at him shocked, his head shaking as he carries on. “The witches aren’t yet all in agreement with Willow, which means they won’t be happy with you staying here. There’s a risk that Monventla or others will show up, because right now she’s a threat to them. Also, Willow and I have a lot to work out. I’m not saying never come, you can stay over and everything, but you have to accept that you need to see the witches sometimes. “An illusion spell, Alaric, when I woke up and saw my stomach I freaked out. I knew others would too so I used an illusion spell; it makes it look like my stomach is growing at a normal pace.” Standing, she closes her eyes, slowly lifting the spell and hearing his gasp as soon as the spell is complete.“How? Willow, how?” She opens her eyes and glances down. She’d even used the spell on herself, and her eyes widen seeing how big she is now.“Werewolves heal quicker, Alaric, a werewolf doesn’t stay pregnant for nine months, five at most.” He nods, but continues to look at her confused. “Vampires heal quickly, quicker than a werewolf, so I’m guessing everything mixed together is what is making this so much quicker.” She closes her eyes, once again putting the spell back into place. Willow finds herself waking up, early, almost too early – or it would be, if she actually needed to sleep. She slips out of bed, careful not to disturb Alaric, and walks downstairs, grabbing the laptop to start looking through websites. She would love to go out and shop properly, but she’s still in hiding from the people who think she’s dead, so if they see her alive – and as a vampire, no less – will cause a war. Plus, if Zander is right, any physical activity like shopping is likely to push her into labour, and she’d rather prolong that for as long as she can. Her mind wonders to Yasmine. Was she destined to be the one? Was she meant to be Willow, and something had just gone wrong in the process? Was she the one destined to love Alaric, have his child and bring the worlds together? She thinks about what she’d be doing now had Gwenael not told Alaric she was safe. Would she be alone without any help? Would Alaric have eventually killed her? She can’t imagine a life without Alaric, and yet she can’t understand why it has to be her when Yasmine was the same in every way. Sure, Yasmine had known she was a witch from the start, she had fallen in love with Alaric and hated that the witches turned on her for it. She wanted revenge on them for it. Was that it, though?
