Chapter 6

Lucian walked into his uncle's room and he saw his uncle with Selina sitting on the couch, staring at him with anger in their eyes. His uncle's name was Luther Steverus. He is the younger brother of Lucian's father.

“Uncle, Albert said you wanted to see me,” Lucian said as he sat on the couch opposite theirs.

“Why did you make that girl your slave? You must kill her now!” his uncle said, raising his voice.

Lucian smiled casually. “I did that not without reason.” His face turned serious. “We still can't find where Darius is. My informant said that Darius has fallen in love with Violet, so I want to use her to catch him. He will come out of hiding to save her and we will be able to kill him.”

Lucian said a lie. The truth was, he found out about the news when his informant told him last night and he used that excuse to save Violet's life so she could stay in his arms.

His uncle furrowed his brows in thought. “That's a good plan,” he said as he nodded his head, then smiled in agreement. Suddenly, his face turned serious, with his eyes staring deep into Lucian's. “But you must promise me you must kill her after Darius dies.”

Lucian answered him with just a smile.

Selina doesn't agree with the plan and she wants Violet to die soon. “But uncle-”

Her uncle raised his hand to stop her from speaking, gazing sharply into her eyes. His eyes were telling her to keep her mouth shut.

Lucian smiled in satisfaction at seeing Selina's angry face, which looked like it was about to explode. Lucian’s face turned serious when his uncle looked back into his eyes. “Two more days is your birthday and you will be the king. Don't disappoint your father and your mother. You must bring honor to our family. Be a good king like your father,” his uncle said in command, as well as hope.

“Yes, uncle. I promise you I will do what you said,” Lucian said sincerely. His uncle smiled at him with a belief in his eyes.

“It's getting late. I think you should rest. Then I'll leave you now,” Lucian said. His uncle replied with a nod. Lucian gave him a warm smile, then he stood up from the couch and walked out of the room.

“Lucian, Wait!”

Lucian heard Selina's voice along with her hasty footsteps from behind him as he rounded the corner from his uncle's room, making him stopped his steps and turned around.

“What is it?” Lucian asked into Selina's eyes as she stood before him. “You haven't answered what our uncle said. I want to hear from your mouth you will kill her after Darius dies,” she said with anger in her eyes.

He smiled teasingly at her as he stepped closer, making her step back until her back hit the wall. Their faces were so close she could feel his warm breath against her skin. The anger in her eyes turned to shyness. She felt her cheeks burn as she could hear her rapid heartbeat in her ears.

“Why do you want to kill her so badly? Are you afraid that I will fall in love with her?” he asked in a soft voice.

His questions left her speechless. “Yes. I'm afraid you'll fall in love with her. I already told you, you're mine. No one can take you from me,” she said with worry and jealousy in her eyes.

He gave her his handsome, gentle smile. She moaned inside as his soft fingers caressed her burning cheek. His eyes fell to her lips as he held her chin. Her body shivered in pleasure as his thumb gently caressed her lips. Her breathing became heavy. She wanted so badly for him to kiss her, but he didn’t.

She swallowed her lust and disappointment as he took his hand from her lips. His eyes then fixed on hers. “I've told you many times I'm not yours. Be a good girl, don't go against me. That will be my last warning to you,” he said in a deep voice.

He turned around with a devilish smile on his face. He toyed with her like a cat playing with a mouse. She clenched her palms, holding back her anger and sadness as she watched him walk away from her.

The morning sun came in through the window of the dining room, where Lucian was having breakfast. He had a shining smile on his face, like a smiling sun. He felt both relieved and happy that his plan to save Violet's life had worked.

Albert, who was standing next to Lucian preparing his breakfast, smiled seeing his smile. He knew what was on Lucian's mind. He suddenly had a good plan in mind to get Violet to like Lucian.

“Young master, may I give Violet a rabbit?” Albert asked. Lucian looked into Albert's eyes. “Why are you asking that?” he asked back curiously.

“She told me she really likes rabbits, so I wanted to give it to her.”

Lucian smiled inside with the light on above his head. “I'll give it to her,” he said. “Yes, young master.” Albert had a happy smile on his face that his plan had worked.

Lucian was so happy, but not with Violet. She felt that she was living in hell and there was no way of escape.

She sighed and leaned her back against the bench in the back garden. Her thoughts brought her back to what happened last night when Lucian was enjoying her body. She still didn't understand what had happened to her, as she kept asking herself why she couldn't refuse him. Her body wanted him and enjoyed his every touch.

She looked ahead when she heard someone's footsteps, and she saw Lucian walking closer to her, holding a white rabbit in his arms. Her heart suddenly raced with both admiration and fear. He fascinated her with his charms, but he also made her afraid of him.

She immediately stood up from the bench looking down hiding her face. He smiled, staring at her face as he stood before her. He knew that she was afraid of him. “You should greet your prince when you meet him,” he teased her.

She raised her face, looking into his eyes with fear in her eyes. “My prince,” she said, and bowed politely. Lucian's heart beats happily hearing her call him her prince.

“Do you like rabbits?” he asked directly.

She looked at the rabbit in his arms; she wanted so badly to hug and kiss it but she too scared to open her mouth to say she liked it.

“You don't like rabbits, do you? Then I'll tell Albert to cook it,” he said. She immediately held his arm in a panic. “No! Please don't do that. Please, I beg you.”

He smiled into her eyes with his teasing eyes, then he moved his gaze to her hands that were holding his arm. He smiled inside. He likes her to touch him.

She quickly took her hands off him when she realized she was holding his arm. She couldn't help but breathed nervously.

He put the rabbit on the bench. She held her breath as he cradled her chin in his hand with his eyes fell on hers. “I won't make it my lunch.” His eyes dropped to her lips and back to her eyes. “But you have to kiss me.”

She stared at him unblinkingly with her body petrified. He shocked and scared her at the same time by saying that.

“Do it now. Don't play with my patience,” he said in a deep voice.

She immediately drew closer to him and pressed her lips to his for a second, then stepped back. He smiled devilishly as he walked closer to her. He slid his hand behind her neck, pulling her body against his with his domineering eyes fixed on hers, making her heart beat uncontrollably. “I taught you last night, but I think you didn't learn that well. Then I'll teach you again how to kiss me.”

She closed her eyes, gripping his jacket tightly with both hands as he put his lips to hers and sucked her lower lip passionately. He slipped his tongue into her mouth, exploring inside, tasting every bit of her. She felt his warm, passionate breath fanning her face, making her burn inside. She hated herself because she enjoyed his kiss so much.

Suddenly they heard someone's footsteps. She immediately pushed his chest with both of her hands as she stepped back. They both looked at the corner of the hedge while breathing heavily and they saw Esther walking towards them.

Esther was surprised when she saw Lucian, as she wondered why he was there. “My prince,” she greeted him and bowed politely when she stood before him. Lucian gave her a gentle smile that made her heart almost burst. She couldn't take her eyes off him, mesmerized by his handsome face.

“Do you enjoy working in this garden?” asked Lucian kindly. Esther nodded excitedly. “Yes, my prince. Violet and I- ” Esther paused as she looked at Violet's face, who looked so nervous, and her long straight hair became tangled. She wondered what had happened to her.

“That’s great! I'm glad you like your job,” Lucian said.

Esther turned her head to Lucian. Esther’s cheeks suddenly burned as Lucian gave her a gentle, handsome smile, making her forget everything.

“Then I'll go now,” Lucian said to Esther without looking at Violet.

“Yes, my prince,” Esther replied with her heart fluttering. He fascinated her with his handsome face. Even his voice impressed her, which was very pleasant and elegant.

Esther kept staring at Lucian with her sparkling eyes, who walked away, leaving the place. “Oh, my God. I truly wish I could be his wife,” she said in hope. She had forgotten that Violet was standing next to her.

Violet stopped staring at Lucian and looked into Esther’s face. She sighed inside upon hearing what Esther said. “You should never have liked him. He's the devil behind his handsome face,” Violet said in her mind.
