Chapter four

Bella's pov

There was no use trying to resist the guards, my small muscles were no match for theirs to begin with.

The one thing that flashed through my mind was an instant death sentence by the matron.

Instead, they dragged me back into the very passageway I just came out from.

Two other guards carried the naked man from the ground.

“Wait, where are you taking him?”

No one answered, I was pulled further into the darkness.

“If I were you, I'd be worried about the kind of punishment I'd receive when the alpha finds out.” Matron spat.

I was thrown into the very cell that the beast was locked in.

I ran to the door but it was already clanged shut.

This isn't good in anyway, I don't know what would happen to that young man

It's all my fault, I should have left him in here, at least they wouldn't kill him.

I can't think of any other punishment Alpha Kaidon would pass on someone.

He was known for passing the cruel judgement with the flick of his fingers

The bodies of those ladies I saw through the window was enough evidence

My legs were already weak and trembling, so I sat down on the cold floor, like the confused person that I was

I wished there was an opening in this prison, I would look out to the moon and ask the goddess if this was the end for me.

I bet she already heard my inner thoughts, so there was no need for that.

My stomach gave a little growl, I clutched it tight.

A single drop of water had not entered my mouth, close to twenty four hours.

I thought prisoners receive food before they are sentenced to death.

If the patron could at least be kind enough to give me some food, even I knew that was wishful thinking.

She hates my guts, from the moment she caught a whiff of my human nature.

I suddenly felt a cold shiver run down my spine, for a place with no windows.

It definitely was cold.

I cramped my body together to gather some heat, and that was how I fell asleep

By the time I woke up, I didn't even know if it was morning or not.

Not a single ray of light could penetrate into this place.

My ears picked up sounds of footsteps approaching, I moved away from the entrance.

There was a click and the light came on.

How did I forget the light?

There was no time to think about that, not with the beautiful man that was standing in front of me.

I definitely didn't see him amongst the guards yesterday.

His eyes roamed my skinny body

My face squeezed into a frown, I do not appreciate such assesment, especially from a man.

“So, it was you who broke me free last night?” His voice rang in the place, soft, yet commanding.

Free?

What was he talking about.

Ohhh, I covered my mouth in a quick gasp.

The white beast, that was him.

I knew I didn't see his face last night, but damn, he's super handsome.

What was I thinking?

This changes everything, I managed to rush to the door with the little strength I have in me.

“Yes, yes, it was me, I helped you, can you return the favour and get me out of here.” I begged

He gave me the look of one that stank, he flicked the spot where my fingers had touched him.

“Are you crazy? Why would I release you from this place?”

My mouth fell open in shock.

For someone who's life I saved, he was very brutal and ungrateful.

This is what I get for being nice, I should have left his ass here.

“You crazy piece of shit.” I fired at him with so much fury.

“Is this how ungrateful you are? I gave up my time to escape that stupid alpha to save you and can't even help me.”

His eyes began to widen slowly, but I really do not give a fuck right now.

I was dead either ways.

“You belong in this cage, that's right, and I hope that the next time he puts you here. He whips the hell out of your ass.” I shouted.

My chest was heaving fast, and I tried to catch my breath.

His face relaxed slowly.

“Are you done?”

“Yes, i am.”

“Good, I was tired of hearing your voice, you'd be coming with me.”

I crossed my arms under my chest.

Like hell, he'd have to drag me out of here if he thinks I'd be going out of this prison with him.

“There you are.” The matron showed up.

I rolled my eyes, as if one annoying bastard was not enough, the queen of the gothic mansion had to show up as well.

“Alpha kaidon, you shouldn't be here.”

My head snapped, alpha Kaidon?

As in, the Alpha Kaidon?

I gulped hard as I tried to look at the man again, his electric blue eyes caught my gaze and I looked away quickly.

I knew I was dead before, but now I have confirmed I was going to die two ways.

How dumb could I be?

The beast was alpha Kaidon, I was so foolish that I couldn't put two and two together.

I saved the very man I was trying to run away from.

I bit my lower lip hard till I tasted blood.

I could feel the matron, suffocating me with her eyes already.

“The moon priestess is here, what would you like me to do, Alpha Kaidon?” I heard the matron ask.

“Bring the human maid out, the priestess would like to examine her.”

“Examine me? For what?”

That was supposed to be my inner voice, but it came out loud.

Oh no, the priestess was going to kill me.

There was no other reason for why she'd want to examine me.

I had dug my own graves with my hands.
