The Cause

Liana's POV

I blinked my eyes once the twice as I slowly retracted my step backward. It wasn't as if this would be the first time that I would be before the media but it has been so long and the whole attention that was focused on me made me feel somehow.

For a moment, it felt like I was the only one in my world, and everything and everyone swirled around me. The cameras that kept flashing made me screw my eyes shut and I suddenly developed a sharp pain in my head.

"You are Mr. Conan's wife?"

"Aren't you the first daughter of Mr. Ethan? Isn't Matilda your sister?"

"She is the one! Why was your marriage hidden from the public?"

A lot of questions almost at the same time and it kind of caused a different kind of pain in my ears as I staggered backward, almost losing balance. I didn't know what was happening at the moment for all I knew, I was used to the attention from the very beginning but now, it felt like the ground could just give up its content and take me in instead.
