POV MADDISON

Ethan didn’t release his grip on my waist until the private elevator chime echoed a second time, signaling that the security guards had successfully removed Richard from the building. When his hand finally slid away, the sudden absence of his warmth left a strange, prickling sensation on my skin.

"Pack your things," Ethan commanded, his voice immediately reverting to that cold, detached executive tone as he walked back to his leather chair. "Asher will drive you to the estate. You have two hours."

"I don't need two hours," I replied, smoothing down the front of my red dress. "Everything I care to keep is already in the trunk of my car."

Caleb chuckled from the sofa, standing up and brushing an invisible speck of dust from his trousers. "A woman who travels light. I like that. It means we get to fill your wardrobe with things *we* choose."

"I'm here for a business arrangement, Caleb, not a makeover," I shot back, lifting my chin.

"Oh, sweetheart," Caleb murmured, stepping into my space and offering a lazy, devastating smile. "In this house, business and pleasure are written in the exact same ink. You'll learn that soon enough."

"Enough," Ethan interrupted, slamming a folder shut on his desk. "Asher, take her. I have a board meeting in ten minutes."

Asher didn't say a word. He simply gestured toward the elevator with a tilt of his head. I caught the faint scent of leather and cedar as he stepped past me. I didn't look back at Ethan or Caleb as the frosted glass doors closed, sealing me in with the most unpredictable of the three brothers.

The drive to the Blackwood estate was a lesson in suffocating silence. Asher handled the heavy black SUV with an aggressive, effortless control, his large hands gripping the steering wheel while his eyes remained fixed on the road. I stared out the window, watching the glittering skyscrapers of the city fade into sprawling, tree-lined suburban roads, and eventually, into a private, heavily guarded forest lane.

When the iron gates opened, the estate loomed ahead like a modern fortress. It was a massive structure of dark stone, glass, and steel, surrounded by manicured lawns that felt completely isolated from the rest of the world.

Asher parked the car in the grand courtyard and killed the engine. He didn't rush to get out. Instead, he rested his arm over the steering wheel and turned his head to look at me, his dark eyes scanning my face.

"Scared, doll?" he asked, his voice a low, gravelly rumble.

"No," I lied, keeping my gaze steady. "I knew what I was signing up for."

"Did you?" Asher let out a dry, short laugh. He leaned closer, his broad shoulders blocking out the light from the window. "Because signing a piece of paper in a bright office is easy. Living under our roof, playing by our rules... that's a different story. You're in our territory now, Maddison."

"Richard thought he owned me too," I said, my voice hardening. "Look where that got him."

A spark of genuine amusement flashed in Asher’s eyes. "Richard is a boy playing with matches. We're the fire. Don't mistake the two."

He got out of the car before I could reply, grabbing my single suitcase from the back. I followed him through the massive front doors. The interior of the mansion was just as imposing as the outside—soaring ceilings, minimalist luxury, and an eerie quiet that made my heels click loudly against the dark marble floor.

An older woman in a sharp uniform met us in the grand foyer. She bowed her head slightly. "Welcome, Miss Maddison. Your suite is ready on the east wing."

"Take her up, Mrs. Gable," Asher instructed, tossing my suitcase to a nearby servant. He stepped close to me one last time, his breath brushing the side of my neck. "Get settled, doll. Dinner is at eight. And Ethan hates it when people are late."

The suite they gave me was larger than the entire apartment I had shared with Richard. It featured a king-sized bed with charcoal silk sheets, a private terrace overlooking the dark woods, and a bathroom made entirely of white quartz. It was beautiful, luxurious, and undeniably a cage.

I spent the next few hours unpacking, trying to clear my head, but the gravity of my situation was finally sinking in. I had traded a cheating husband for three powerful, dangerous men who didn't hide their hunger for me.

At exactly five minutes to eight, I walked down the grand staircase toward the dining room. The table was long, made of dark, polished wood, with a single crystal chandelier casting sharp shadows across the room. Ethan sat at the head, already nursing a glass of dark liquor. Caleb was to his left, typing rapidly on a tablet, while Asher sat opposite him, looking thoroughly bored.

When I entered, all three pairs of identical eyes locked onto me.

"Sit," Ethan said, indicating the empty chair directly to his right.

I walked over, pulling out the heavy chair and sitting down. The tension in the room was palpable, a thick, suffocating wave of male dominance.

"We’ve already initiated phase two of your request," Caleb said, setting his tablet aside with a bright, predatory smile. "Richard spent the afternoon begging his remaining investors for a loan. None of them took his calls. By tomorrow, his credit rating will be completely blacklisted."

"Good," I muttered, taking a sip of the water a servant had poured for me. "He deserves to feel what it's like to have the ground disappear beneath his feet."

"He will," Ethan agreed, his voice cutting through the room. He leaned slightly toward me, his cold gaze pinning me in place. "But now that we are fulfilling our end of the deal, it’s time to discuss yours. Your life as a regular citizen ends today, Maddison. From this moment on, your schedule, your public appearances, and your presence belong entirely to this table."

"I understand the contract, Ethan," I said, trying to match his coldness.

"Do you?" Ethan reached out, his large, calloused hand suddenly wrapping around mine on the tabletop. His grip was firm, unyielding, sending a jolt of pure adrenaline straight to my core. "Because tonight is your last night of peace. Tomorrow, we take you to the annual corporate gala. Richard will be there, trying to save his skin. And you are going to walk in on my arm, showing the world exactly who owns you now."

Caleb pulled away from me completely, the slick, cold sensation of his departure accompanied by the sharp, authoritative click of his tactical knife being drawn from his waistband. The absolute security of the Blackwood estate—the fortress I had grown to resent yet rely on—had just been compromised.Suddenly, a red, low-intensity emergency strip along the baseboards flickered to life. I couldn't pace around the master suite anymore without staring at the charcoal silk sheets and remembering the absolute dominance of the three brothers. POV MADDISONThe weight of the previous night pressed down on me the moment I opened my eyes. I was lying in the center of the massive king-sized bed in the master suite, wrapped in charcoal silk sheets that smelled faintly of Ethan’s expensive mint soap and the sharp, metallic tang of raw desire. My body ached in places I didn’t know could ache, a deep, internal throb that served as permanent proof of what the three Blackwood brothers had done to me on the library desk.I sat up slowly, the silk sheet slipping down to my waist. POV MADDISONThe heavy scent of leather, sweat, and spent adrenaline lingered in the cabin of the SUV long after the security team had cleared the shipping yard. Asher drove us back to the Blackwood estate with a calm, satisfied smirk stretching across his rugged face, his large hand resting heavily on my bare knee the entire way. I leaned my head against the cool glass of the window, my body completely exhausted but my mind sharper than it had ever been. Richard was desperate enough to hire thugs, which meant he was entirely out of options. The moment we walked through the grand front doors of the mansion, Mrs. Gable was waiting in the foyer."Miss Maddison, Mr. Ethan and Mr. Caleb are waiting for you in the primary study," she announced, bowing her head. POV MADDISON# CHAPTER 9: Splitting the PreyThe sting of the morning’s revelations still burned in my veins long after Caleb had left me breathless and trembling against the polished wood of his desk. Richard was having a child with Lauren. The betrayal was absolute, but the weakness I used to feel had been completely ironed out of me. I spent the next hour in my suite, dressing in a sharp black blazer and jeans. I was scheduled to accompany Asher to the northern district to inspect one of the primary commercial properties Richard’s company had just defaulted on.When I stepped into the grand courtyard, Asher was already waiting beside his heavy, blacked-out SUV. He had his sleeves rolled up to his elbows, revealing his thick, tattooed forearms, and a cigarette dangled unlit from his lips. He tracked my movement with a sharp, predatory gaze."Ready, doll?" Asher asked, opening the passenger door for me with a rough tug. "You look like you're ready to bite someone's head off.""I am,"
