ARTHUR'S POV

"Admit it brother, you're just jealous of the king. And I find that rather amusing." Darius said teasingly.

He adjusted his shirt carefully, trying not to put too much pressure on his injured back.

I stepped closer to him. "You seem to have forgotten that your punishment is not an invitation to test my patience."

He stopped smiling and bowed his head slightly, "My apologies, Beta."

"Get out."

He left without another word, but I knew he wouldn't let the matter die down. I knew

ARTHUR'S POV "Admit it brother, you're just jealous of the king. And I find that rather amusing." Darius said teasingly. He adjusted his shirt carefully, trying not to put too much pressure on his injured back. I stepped closer to him. "You seem to have forgotten that your punishment is not an invitation to test my patience." He stopped smiling and bowed his head slightly, "My apologies, Beta." "Get out." He left without another word, but I knew he wouldn't let the matter die down. I knew my brother too well. I collected my coat and headed towards the courtyard to inspect the training grounds before the afternoon training session began. It was then that a commotion near the eastern side of the yard caught my attention. A crowd of warriors had gathered around two wolves. One was a young fighter named Ronan, while the other was a guard who had just returned from patrol. Their disagreement appeared to have turned physical. "What's going on here?" I demanded. The crowd immediate

And I realised I was the one holding on to him. Kane stared at my hand, slightly bit his lips, before returning his attention to my face. Neither of us moved. Then, he pulled me towards him without warning His lips crashed against mine, and every sane thought in my head vanished. I gripped his shirt tightly as he drew me closer, and his hand settled firmly against my waist. The kiss was much more than the brief, unexpected one I'd shared with Arthur. He didn't hesitate, he wasn't uncertain. Kane kissed me as though his life depended on it, as though he'd been holding himself back for too long. And I responded. I couldn't resist him, it felt too good. I found my fingers in his hair, pulling him closer. He moaned quietly against my mouth, moving his other hand to the back of my neck. I held him tightly, not wanting to release him. I’d never wanted anyone this desperately. When he finally pulled away, I followed him instinctively, earning a quiet chuckle. “Impatient, a

Arthur stood before Alpha Leo in the courtyard, carefully controlling his expression. “Alpha please, twenty lashes seem excessive for spreading an unverified accusation.” Leo regarded him from the steps. “Darius also administered wolfsbane without my permission. Do you consider that a minor offence?” “No, Alpha.” “Then my decision stands.” Darius gave Arthur a mocking smile. “I'd be careful if I were you, brother. You wouldn't want me telling everyone what actually happened between you and your little omega, would you?” Arthur turned towards him. “Enough, Darius! Keep your mouth shut. You've caused enough trouble.” “Quiet!” Leo ordered. “Take him away.” Darius was dragged out by the guards while Arthur remained silent, accepting the Alpha's decision, but the tension in his jaw told me he had more to say. I had no time to watch them. “Keep scrubbing.” The guard beside me tapped his boot against the floor. I gripped the brush tighter until my fingers ached and I co

How was I lying? I thought to myself I stared at the King, confused by what he'd meant. I had told him the truth. I genuinely didn't know whether Alpha Leo had a habit of punishing people before investigating their offences or was he referring to something else? "I don't understand, Your Majesty," I said after a brief pause. He studied me for a moment and scoffed. "Perhaps lying was the wrong word. You did answer my question but you also didn't tell me what you actually wanted to say." I got the memo. He wanted me to tell him my own side of the story. What was I supposed to say? I was tired of defending myself to people who had already decided I was guilty? Well technically, he wasn't one of those people. At least not yet but I no longer cared whether Arthur admitted the truth because his betrayal had taught me exactly where I stood. But at the same time I couldn't scrub lavatory floors for the rest of my life so something needed to be done. Nothing I say would change

I returned back to my initial position as I heard footsteps approaching. The office door opened, Arthur stepped out and our eyes met instantly. There was uncertainty in his expression. He knew. He knew I'd heard but neither of us spoke and he walked past me without another glance. "Lucien, come in." Alpha Leo's voice called. I swallowed the lump in my throat and stepped into the office. The Lycan King stood beside the window, one hand resting behind his back. He hadn't left. I immediately lowered my head. "Alpha." Alpha Leo studied me for a long moment. "Someone made a serious accusation against you." "I know, Alpha." "I will ask you once and only once…" His voice was calm. "...speak your truth. Tell me what truly happened." I replayed Arthur's words in my mind, I replayed the incident that’d happened and how I rejected his advances. But instead of speaking, I kept mute. I knew too well, the truth no longer mattered. Whatever I said now would sound like the desp

The voices welcoming the Lycan King echoed all over Shadowclaw as I stepped out of my room.Servants hurried past with trays of food and wine and warriors lined on both sides of the path leading to the Sacred Grounds. The entire pack buzzed with excitement."Lucien!"I quickly turned to see Mira hurrying towards me. "There you are," she said, slowing her pace. "I've been looking everywhere for you.""I could say the same.""I'm sorry…after they took you to the recovery room, the head cook gathered all the servants in the kitchen. None of us were allowed to leave.""I figured." I nodded. She looked me over carefully."How do you feel now?""Better."She sighed but didn't argue. "Come on, we'll be in trouble if we arrive late."Together, we joined the crowd gathering at the Sacred Grounds. By the time we arrived, almost the entire pack was already there.A loud horn sounded and the massive gates creaked open. The Lycan King entered with his Royal Guards.Every wolf lowered their head im
