chapter five

Kimmy was still in shock,she was trying to comprehend everything she just said. It didn't make sense to her.

What was a man like Gabriel doing in that area far away from the city,but she didn't dare to ask.

Her suspicion has now become true,he was a mafia but not any mafia, the devil's son. Now her life was in danger because she helped him. Kimmy wanted to cry but there was no tears left,besides crying was not going to help her now. She looked at Gabriel as if begging for her life.

" I..I didn't know who you were.. I'm sorry for helping you. I promise I won't tell anyone about our encounter,but please can you let me out of this?" Kimmy asked him, pleading for her life.

" Little girl,you don't seem to understand the situation.. I'm not the one who want you dead,you haven't done anything to me yet to make me kill you...but the people who saw you with me want you." Gabriel said as he stared down at her.

" If they eventually capture you,they would torture you to give them information about me... and you know nothing about me...so tell me, what are your plans?" He asked.

Plans??

You brought me into all of this,I should be the one asking you that, Kimmy thought to herself. " I don't know what to do, I'm just an ordinary girl living with my sick mother...I don't have a father."

Kimmy began to cry,she didn't know what else to do and the mafia boss before her didn't show any form of emotion or pity for her. The rumours were indeed true,he was really cold and heartless.

Gabriel just looked at her as she cried,he didn't feel any form guilt, though he was the reason for her being in this situation. Left to him he would have allowed her to be captured by the gangs or just kill her himself,besides she was a stranger and didn't have any attachments to her.

Killing her will save him from unnecessary stress and give him more time to find the people behind his ambush.

The only thing stopping him from carrying out his heartless thought was his younger brother, Roy West. Roy had told him not to harm the girl and he promised him not to. Roy was the only family member Gabriel had so he did his best to keep him safe and also see to all his demand.

Gabriel took a deep breath and said to Kimmy, " at this point,you only have two options." He said and turned to looyat Kimmy. She waited for him to mention her options but he didn't. Instead he went back to the chair to sit, brought a cigarette from his pocket,lit it and began to smoke.

Paying no heed to Kimmy who was dying from suspense. After taking two drags from the cigarette he continued speaking.

" Your first option is to go back home and pretend that this never happened..but I can assure you that you might no live to see another new day." Gabriel said and took another drag from his cigarette.

Kimmy let out a cry when she heard the first option. That was not an option,it was a death sentence. She couldn't die,at least not now. She still had to take care of her mother. Gabriel continued without giving her any chance to speak.

" Your second opinion is to stay in my house for the time being...at least till I can guarantee your safety." He said. Kimmy was shocked when she heard him.

Did she just hear right?.

He was asking her to move into his house. That was like telling her to live in a lion's den. How could she live with the devil's son,she was better off dead. It was said that every woman that was seen with him disappeared mysteriously.

Kimmy felt all her hope was lost,she collapsed to the ground weeping. Why was the world unfair to her,all she wanted was to live a normal life but her life right now was far from being normal.

" I can't...I can't stay with you." Kimmy said as she began to cry without holding back.

Gabriel was already running out of patience for her,he had things to do,like looking for the people behind his accident.

" One thing you should understand is that this is not my decision,I couldn't be bothered if you're dead or not...the only reason I agree to helping you is to pay you back for saving me...you really have no option left so it's either you take it or leave it!" Gabriel said with a cold voice.

Kimmy immediately went quiet,she shrunk back in fear. It seemed like she have angered the mafia boss.

" I can't,I really can't...what about my mother,she is still in the hospital and has no one to care for her. I can't just leave her like that." Kimmy said to him,her voice barely a whisper.

" Well you have made your decision... suite yourself then." Gabriel said and began to walk out of the house with his companions following him. He couldn't be bothered into persuading her to take his offer,not that he wanted her to stay with him.

Kimmy was left alone in the cold and empty house. She sat on the floor confused as at the next step she was going to take. She couldn't bring herself to accept his offer.

Staying with him was like inviting her to hell,she didn't want to get involved in the mafia. But at the back of her mind, Kimmy knew that was the best option she had right then.

Torn between what to do,she stood up and began to walk out of the building.

She was at the toughest crossroad of her life...
