Kieran's POV:

The insomnia did not let me sleep. Moreover, for some reason, I was excited. I don't know anything about that hulk of a man, but one thing is for sure, he is definitely going to make my life thrilling.

I stretched my body, letting the silk sheets slip from my naked upper body and groaned due to the lack of rest. However, I knew that no matter how long I would stay in bed, I wouldn't be able to sleep. I grabbed a tablet from the side table and opened the web to check out something new about myself. Or perhaps another scandal of mine: 'Flirting with the Wife of some Minister'. That was real though. Not my fault. She was the one who was not loyal to this old man and I happened to be charming.

However, there was nothing today. "This is hella boring." I threw the tablet back and got up before changing into a tracksuit. I love running. I love it when the cool breeze slaps my face and sends a refreshing feel through every pore of my body. Furthermore, Adrien said that he would come at 6:50am to get me, but it was dawn now. There is no way he will follow me now. I can have some time for myself. So, I tiptoed and sneaked towards the hidden exit. This part is only used by the servants. How do I know this? Well, duh- I grew up here. I have thoroughly searched every single hideout in the palace and no one knows this place better than me.

I was feeling lightheaded as I walked through the narrow space. It looked creepy with the dim lights and just when I was about to open the steel door, suddenly, I felt a shiver down my spine. Someone cleared his throat behind me. My hand that was on the door knob, it was paused and I shut my eyes for a couple of seconds.

"You are not very good at sneaking out, Your Majesty. I guess this is why you are caught every time." His voice was drier than the Sahara desert, "It was really amateur of you to think that I did not know about this place."

"Bloody fuck!" I muttered under my breath and spun on my heels. The second my eyes met his, I paused. His hair was not combed back. They were falling roughly on his forehead. Meanwhile, unlike last night, he was not dressed in his usual suit, but he was wearing jeans and a white t-shirt. It hugged his body so perfectly that I could make out of every single muscle. This man is well-ripped. I had to give it to him and that look made me want to either punch him or ask him for some gym tips.

"How long have you been following me?" I asked in a gravelly manner.

"The second you stepped out of your bedroom." He answered while looking straight into my eyes.

"I know you are new here but there is something called 'Royal etiquettes' here. You are not allowed to look into my eyes like this." I don't know why, but that smug and cold expression was getting on my nerves. I never give a damn about these rules, but I still reminded him of them.

"I apologize for my lack of knowledge." Adrien immediately looked down and seeing a man as strong as him so submissive, gave me satisfaction. I wondered how it would look to see him drop onto his knees in order to suck my dick?

That would be a lovely sight, right?

"Still you are not allowed to crawl out of the palace like a rat." He looked up again, causing the earlier satisfaction to vanish into thin air. My jaws tightened.

"Is this how you talk to a royal, Vale?" I held his chin tightly. I swear, I am not far from punching his pretty face, "You can be executed for treason."

"I only talk like this to the bratty royals." He retaliated, "And FYI, His Majesty has given me the free hand. I can treat you however I want and speak to you as I deem fit. My duty is to just protect you, Your Highness, not to care about royal protocols."

I bit the inside of my cheek, and before I knew what was going on with me, I was slamming that mountain of a man against the wall. Just when my hand moved down to his throat from his chin, I had no fucking idea. The only thing that I could see was red.

"Don't get over smart with me, Vale. I might be rebellious, toxic and hate my fucking life but I am still the Crown Prince of this country. You have no right to talk to me like that. When I say bow, you bow, When I say you look down, you fucking look down-" I moved closer to him while his pulse was pulsating at an abnormal pace, "You say you are here to protect me. But at this point, you should care about your own safety. I hate people like you."

His eyes widened as he stared at me. With fear? No fucking hell. It was something else. Raw, darp and deeper. He just stayed there, his back straightened, but he did not push me away. Even though I am sure that he can subdue me easily with his strength.

I have never lost my shit like this before. I have never been violent in my entire life. However, you will have to exclude all those time that I spend in bed. I happen to be a masochist behind the four walls of my bedroom, but this man was bringing the worst out of me.

"I am sorry, Your Highness." He dropped his eyes when he saw me hyperventilating. His pulse was getting erratic.

"Fuck!" I cursed and moved back from him. I ran my fingers through the hair out of frustration. I really need to run. If I don't, the vein in my temple will explode. I opened the door and walked out of there. He followed me without a doubt and this time I did not look back, as I made my way towards the track which is built inside the palace.

I have no idea how long I ran there. Maybe hours, a few minutes? The only thing that I could hear was the sound of my heartbeat and the soft footsteps of the man who was running behind me.

I tried my best not to focus on him but my senses kept on drifting back to him. After I was done exhausting myself and I sat on the grass in the manner of practically falling, I glanced at him.

Man!! He wasn't even hyperventilating and here I was dying. Only a few beads of sweat were shining on his forehead under the sunrays, as it was no longer dawn and the sun was high up in the sky.

"You know, Vale." I leaned back and rested on my hands while he stood there, with his hands clasped together. But for a mere second, I thought I felt him gawking on my legs. Since I was wearing shorts, my legs were naked. Furthermore, his jaws clenched and he shut his eyes for a time that is considered more than a mere blinking. But I brushed those thoughts away. Maybe it was just something that I imagined. However, the temperature of my body has indeed risen to a couple of degrees.

"I hate you." I confessed.

His eyes leisurely dragged to mine. Although I just made sure that he shouldn't do this again. This fucker!

"That's fine. I am here as your guard. I can work with hate."

"Pffftt!! I don't know what to say. I just can't seem to name my feelings when it comes to you." I was saying, "One second, you make me furious and I hate you for it and next second, you intrigue me. You should stop being so fickle Vale. Stick to one side. Either make me hate you or love you."

The second last two words came out of my mouth, his lips flinched. I saw a teeny tiny crack in his demeanor.

"I am a rather simple person." I said and got up, "Let's go. I have some old men waiting to sacrifice me." Adrien didn't say anything in response. He quietly followed me back to my residence.

After I returned to my room, I took a shower and changed into a grey suit. The moment I was done cleaning up, I went out and when I showed up at the council meeting, every single fucking pair of eyes was on me.

"Your Highness, you finally decided to grace us with your presence." One of the men, Alister, said to me sarcastically. I settled on the head of the table with Adrien standing behind me.

"Well, I had to. You guys are not letting me have a good rest."

He looked behind me, I am sure at Adrien and I have no idea what he saw on his face but Lord Alister turned pale, "I see you have a new guard but you know that an outsider is not allowed to be in here."

My hands turned into fists, "What to do? The threats these days are getting too much. I have no choice but to have him with me all the time-" I hate this but I did not like how they thought that they could walk all over my person.

My person? I guess this is what Adrien is.

"Not until I can uproot the cause, you will have to bear with him." I said flatly.

"Okay."

This time Lady Vercell jumped him, "Your Highness, these days your scandals are becoming too much. You are often seen at the bars, drinking, partying and even sleeping with random people. The citizens are afraid that their future leader is no capable enough of leading them-"

I gritted my teeth as I listened to her but that mocking signature smile that I have, did not leave my face. "There is nothing that I can do about it. I have a high sex drive. I am a young vile man and I have no choice but to take care of my dick-" The moment 'dick' left my mouth, I saw really amusing expressions on the faces of the people sitting in front of me. Some were embarrassed and even turned red while some were looking at me in shock like I was some experimental rat that needed to be tested.

"What?" I looked at them, "There is no need to be so shy. We are all adults here and I am pretty sure you do not want to go further into my sex life."

"You should get married then." One of them suggested and this time it was my turn to look horrified.

"I am perfectly sane enough to make decisions for my own life. You do not have to be concerned about these things." I got up, "If this is all that you had to discuss, I should go then."

"Wait-" I heard the voices from behind, but I did not stay there for another second.

"I swear, I am going to blow this place up soon. "So fucking tired of these ugly old farts." I murmured to myself. There is never a moment of peace with them.

  • Bratty Prince And The Bodyguard    Chapter 253

Kieran's POV:I didn’t say anything, just stared at him. Then a small, private smile tugged at the edge of my lips. The kind that belonged only to him. “I feel safe with you,” I whispered, almost like a confession. He brushed my thumb along my cheek. “Good. Because you are.” The silence that followed wasn’t awkward. It wasn’t tense. It felt like the calm after a war. Peaceful and something we have earned. His breathing slowed, syncing with mine again. I pressed a kiss to his forehead and whispered against his skin, “You are mine now. In every way.” “I have always been yours,” he replied softly. Adrien held me tighter from behind, his chin resting lightly on my shoulder, the weight of his arms grounding me in a way nothing else ever could. I could feel the steady rhythm of his heart against my back, and it soothed something deep inside me. The kind of ache I hadn’t even realized I had been carrying. “You remember the first time we stood on a balcony like this?” he murmured, brea

  • Bratty Prince And The Bodyguard    Chapter 252

Kieran's POV:I felt the burn behind my eyes and immediately blinked it away. He walked off the platform. Walked straight to me. Right through the crowd, parting like the damn Red Sea. “I never thought I would be standing here like this,” he said, approaching. “Not just as the head of an empire. Not as a guard. But as a man who’s found his home in someone else.” And then… he knelt. Gasps rippled through the crowd. Cameras flashed and my entire heart slammed against my chest. Adrien knelt on one knee, holding out a black velvet box. Inside it sat a ring, a simple platinum band with a single black diamond in the center. Bold, elegant and unmistakably us. My heart stopped beating. “Kieran,” he said, voice a little shaky now. “Will you marry me?” I stared at him while everything else blurred. The cameras. The people. The music. They were gone. It was just him. My Adrien. On his goddamn knee. Then, without thinking, I dropped down to my knees too. Grabbed his stupid perfect face i

2 years later:Kieran's POV: The sky was painted in shades of gold and lavender, the kind of dusk that seemed too perfect to be real. Below it, the royal gardens buzzed with quiet excitement and a charity gala held on palace grounds, complete with string lights, live music, and champagne towers. Ca

  • Bratty Prince And The Bodyguard    Chapter 250

Adrien's POV: He grabbed my shirt, dragging me toward the bed with a grin that was far too self-assured. He pushed me, not hard, but enough to get his point across. I landed on the mattress with a laugh. “Alright then,” I said, folding my hands behind my head, amused. “Impress me, prince.” He climbed over me, straddling my hips. “I plan to.” The next few minutes were a blur of heat. His hands roamed like he had been fantasizing about this all night. His kisses were possessive, deep as it left no room to breathe. He pressed me into the mattress, his thigh pushing between mine, grinding and coaxing sounds out of me I didn’t mean to give. But then he started really testing his limits. Kieran slid a hand down my chest, nails scratching slightly, and muttered against my neck, “You look better beneath me than I imagined.” I laughed hard. “Bold words, your highness.” “I am not done,” he warned, dragging his teeth across my jaw. “You better stay still.” “Or what?” He nipped my collar

Adrien’s POV:The moment the car doors shut behind us, I let out a breath I hadn’t realized I had been holding all damn night. The leather seats were cold against my back, but my blood was running hot. In fact, it was too hot and it was not from the wine. But from him. He noticed my feelings when h

  • Bratty Prince And The Bodyguard    Chapter 248

Kieran's POV:“You speak with great faith in him,” my mother finally said, the edges of her mouth twitching upward. “I do,” Adrien replied, sliding his hand behind my back with a warmth I hadn’t realized I needed. “Because I have seen him in rooms where men have begged. But he doesn’t fold. He leads.” My father gave a grunt that might’ve been approval. And my mother, to her credit, only nodded. “That’s good to hear.” I swallowed. My jaw clenched tighter than I wanted to admit, and I looked away for a beat before clearing my throat. “We are not in a hurry for that,” I said quietly. “The future will come when it does.” She placed a hand on my shoulder as we stepped out of the dining room. “I know, sweetheart. But the world is watching. And you are both leaders now. They will always ask whether it’s fair or not.” “I have been asked worse,” I muttered. “Like when the press wanted to know if I cried at the coronation because of ‘emotional growth’ or just the humidity.” Adrien snorted
