Chapter Three

It's been over a month since Katie bumped into Jacob at the bar, and so far things have been wonderful between the two. There have been quite some dates; going on a picnic by the lake, walking along the beach under the moonlight with a glass of wine, eating at a French restaurant, and even staying at each other's apartments.

Everything has been perfect between them with a bunch of amazing dates; Jacob has taken her on walks along the beach, had picnics at the park while feeding bread to the ducks, going to the zoo to see all of the beautiful animals, and even staying the night at each other's place drinking wine and watching emotional movies.

Katie couldn't imagine her life getting any better than this.

Until Jacob's colors start to show.

Things started taking a turn and not in a good way.

"Rosy! why haven't you picked up your phone? I have called you multiple times, and even texted you." Anger and irritation rose in Jacob's voice. He was not in the mood.

That was the first time that he has ever risen his voice to Katie and she thought this new behavior was odd. "You only called me once, and I never received a message from you."

A growl escaped the man's throat and he gave Katie a look. A look that makes somebody think that they were about to be murdered. "Why didn't you answer? you should always answer me, even if it was one time!"

Katie was taken aback by his attitude and anger. Why was he angry with her? she did not do anything to him. This was very odd behavior. "Jake, I have not felt good for a few days and I took a nap to get myself back to feeling better. I'm sorry that I missed your call and somehow did not receive your messages, but you have to understand that I was not feeling well."

Why was he even coming at her with this attitude and tone? that is not how a man treats his woman.

Katie scrunched up her face in confusion. 'Maybe he had a bad day at work.' She thought to herself, watching Jacob fidgeting. He was staring at her and he was staring very hard too like he was looking into her soul.

"Are you okay? This is so unlike you to be angry." She asked gently, hoping that he would not snap off at her again.

Jacob sighed. He did have a bad day at work. His employees were nagging him to do their jobs, and the big boss was just a complete ass-hat. It was not a good day at all. Then Katie would not answer him when he called and texted her. "No, Rosy. It was not a good day at all. I have lazy employees and an asshole of a boss. He would not give me the promotion that I know for sure that I deserve."

Katie placed her hands across his and smiled gently. "Don't worry. You will get that promotion. You are a hard worker and have earned that spot in the business."

He let out a growl, pushing her hands away. "Don't touch me."

Katie was taken aback by this type of behavior, which Jacob never had before. What in the heck is wrong with him?

"I know that you had a bad day, Jake. But you don't have to take it out on me." With that, Katie walked away. She went into her bedroom and shut the door. Her emotions were all over the place, and she felt the tears already filling her eyes.

Today was the day that she was going to tell Jacob that he was going to be a father, but that was not a very good idea at the moment.

For now, Katie was not going to say anything about the baby. She was going to keep it on the down low for right now.

"Rosy. Babe, I'm sorry for taking my irritation and anger out on you. It was not right of me to do that to someone that I extremely love." His voice was not sincere at all, it was hard to explain what Katie heard, but it wasn't any truth to what he said in it.

'Maybe I am way too emotional today and that Jacob wasn't being mean.' Katie thought. Her hormones were already spiraling out of control from the baby.

She opened the door and made herself look into his eyes. "It's not your fault, you had a bad day is all."

He smiled.

"Still no excuse to treat my pretty lady like a dog mess. Especially while you are sick." Jacob wrapped his hands around her waist and pulled her close. "I love you, Rosy."

"I love you too." She replied, having this weird gut feeling and it wasn't caused by the unborn child.

What Katie didn't know is that Jacob wasn't the man that she thought she knew.

But in her heart, Katie didn't want to believe anything negative about him.

Except that his true colors were slowly starting to show and Katie was too blinded to see the person that he truly is.

'Something is going on with Jacob....what is his problem? He's acting like he is bipolar or something.' Katie thought to herself. She was in deep thought, wondering if it was her hormones or if Jacob was not who he says he is.

Will she ever open her eyes to see what is going on or will everything become worse for her?

Only time will tell.
