33. Fading Memories and a Dagger

"Arrange some herbs and tincture for us. We have to be out of this mansion by tonight," I ordered as I crumpled the letter viciously. Andrew nodded and left immediately while I went back into the room where Myra lay unconscious. I picked her up in my arms, her head lolled to one side, resting limply on my shoulder as I carried her down the stairs. 

So they were planning to search my mansion and drag my mate in order to execute her? For a crime, which she hadn't even committed? Rage engulfed my senses. How dare they? My grip tightened. 

"Ugh," an incoherent sound made me look at Myra whose eyes had fluttered open but only slightly. I laid her on my bed —our bed and said, "Rest for a while. We need to leave. Soon." I don't know how much she understood but she nodded nonetheless before closing her eyes again. My heart would have ached at her pitiable condition had it been a beating one or so what I have read in the books.&nbs
