Chapter 4

"Who is your leader?" the voice cried out again, more horrid than before, echoing through the woods and sending fearful reverberations across.

They have not seen the face what it was that was talking but the tone of the voice, it's monstrous voice they heard and the unnatural silhouette they could see in the woods faintly rooted them on their feet in fear.

They all staggered back in fear unable to think of anything to say or do at the moment.

"I said who is your leader? " the voice thundered again as his head emerged from the woods to look at each and every one of them.

The head was almost the same as an average man, only looking more monstrous. It had just one large eye on its forehead, brown eyes with red pupil.

It's mouth was adorned with long sharp teeth and it looked like the that could extend more than the natural jaws could.

It was the same colour as the trees and darker green shade, so that it could easily blend with the trees.

It was around 7 foot tall in height and had multiple tree like roots and vines in place of arms and legs.

The clouds turned gray and there was telltale signs of rain.

"now it's going to rain, let's do this quick. " the creature Said.

"if you have no leader, then I will just kill everyone. Who is your leader?"

It said again as it moved out of the trees and watched everyone terrified.

A girl close to it tried to run and escape but immediately the arm of the creature shot out like a spike and impaled her on the back and she died immediately. Everyone watching yelled and cried in fright.

It lifted her up from the ground with the tentacle like arm right through her chest.

Immediately after the creature impaled another person that had rushed to go help the girl that tried to escape: A boy, Whom had rushed over to the girl.

"Now no one escapes, until I kill your leader " the creature said.

Everyone turned to Damian who had proclaimed himself as the leader for him to do something .

"I'm not... I'm not.... The..... " Damian cried out in terror as they all looked at him,he broke down and wept, mumbling out words as he tried to deny it

"....le..le. Lea...der"..

The creature looked at him and he almost passed out in fright.

Everyone turned to Hanson and the creature noticed and began approaching Hanson having the inkling that he was the leader of the group.

Hanson could not move but just stood there terrified, already thinking of how he will die at the hands of the unknown creature.

The right vine like arm of the creature grew into a spike as it had the intention of impaling Hanson. It drew closer to Hanson, moving like an octopus because of its multiple root like legs.

"so you are the leader? " the creature asked Hanson with delight, as it's height towered over him terrifyingly casting its menacing shadow over him.

Hanson couldn't answer since he was scared and the creature poked his chest with the sharp spike and it nicked his skin and drew blood.

"Answer me?..." it growled

"pleassssssssssee"

Hanson begged pitifully as he was almost impaled.

Baji watched in horror as his friends were terrified and almost killed, but he himself was also very terrified.

"I... I....I AM THE LEADER!"

Baji shouted as he called out to the creature immediately.

His heart was pounding so hard and sweat was pouring out of his body, he could not move or think or do anything but he just spoke so his friends will not be killed.

Everyone's head turned to face him the moment he said that, even that of the creature.

And the creature smiled and immediately left Hanson and began approaching Baji.

'what will I do, what will I do, what will I do? You will die, you will die, you will die!'

Baji kept screaming in his head since he knew this was probably gonna be it for him.

'move!'

He forced himself and immediately broke out into a staggered sprint. He struggled to run but fell occasionally but each time he got up quickly and ran into the forest.

"Hahahaha graaahhhhhhhhh amusing little leader , yes run!".the creature yelled out hysterically as it began following after Baji.

It's tendrils like vine legs extended further than before and faster as well as it began moving faster than it was moving before.

Baji kept running frantically without direction, instincts kicking in and only telling him to run and keep himself alive.

'run, run, run, run faster, faster. '

"I don't wanna die"

Baji cried out as tears poured out from his eyes as he ran. He was so scared that the only thing he could do was run.

The creature was coming behind Baji with a sinister smile on its face. It's vine like arms extended to hook the trees ahead and it used it like a sling to propel itself forward to catch up with Baji

"for someone with so little legs, you can really run fast... " the creature exclaimed as it was propelled right next to Baji.

Baji turned and saw the creature right next to him and he jolted and fell, rolling and Rolling until he fell back first against

a tree and he cried out in pain.His head as well was bruised and he started bleeding from the side of his face.

Despite the pain, Baji did not even consider stopping, he just sat up immediately and continued running.

The moment he left the position he was in, the spike like arm of the creature impaled the spot Baji had just left. The creature was determined to kill Baji.

The creature extended its spike like hand again to grab Baji but Baji turned to the right immediately avoiding it, but his right shoulder got nicked instead and he started bleeding.

"I'm going to die, I'm going to die " he cried as he ran. It bagan raining and droplets of rain started beating the trees and Baji.

Soon Baji was drenched in the rain and he discovered something, the creature was nolonger right behind him.

He fell with his back against a tree as he hid himself and tried to find out where the creature had gone..

He saw it, it was still away from him but struggling to find which direction Baji went.

"dreaded Rain, now I can't see properly arhghhh , come out little Man."

Baji heard it say and he realized the creature could not see well with the weather.

Baji heard running water ahead as well and knew a source of water was nearby, it might just be his only Chance to escape. Baji thought as he breathed heavily.
